"Thanks, Moon." Phoebe thanked before she left her friends house. She had borrowed a set of pajamas to sleep in and some a new T-shirt while she wore the same outfit that she arrived in. Her hair was styled in a large plait with several plaits running across her head that lead into it. She was very careful with driving her bike without her helmet back into Reseda as it was mid morning and in broad daylight.
Running into her home, she noticed the time and saw that she had time to get showered and changed. Her parents door was open meaning they weren't in there. She had ran past her dad and mum. George was sitting in the kitchen enjoying a cup of tea, while her mum was making a late breakfast.
"I thought you'd be asleep." Phoebe had her bath robe slung over her arm.
"I thought so too with you. Where were you?" Her mum asked.
"At Moon's."
"You didn't take your bike helmet." George pressed.
"I forgot." She said honestly. "I had a lot on my mind."
Sophie mentioned while checking the sausages in the oven. "I was thinking that you should bring Hawk over some time this week for dinner."
"It will be a little hard as I don't want him to step foot inside this apartment. We broke up last. Thought you should know."
That made her parents both look up at her with worry. "Are you alright?"
"Well I ate an entire tub of ice cream last night, so fine. I'll get through it." She shrugged.
Sophie glanced back to her, "What's that on your wrist?"
Phoebe acted dumb, "What?"
"Is that cling film?" George sighed. "Don't tell me you got a tattoo?"
"You said it yourself, not me."
"Phoebe!"
She just rolled her eyes.
"Is it because of Hawk? I knew that boy was going to have a bad influence on you."
"Dad." She sighed. "I wasn't influenced by anything, least of all him." She added, half lying. "Anyway, it's not like I'm in the shadows smoking twenty cigarettes a day."
"That's true, George." Sophie pointed out. "You should have told us, Phoebe. Tattoos are a very permanent thing. Remember I got to the one on my shoulder covered up into something else?"
"Yeah, I do."
"Let me see."
Phoebe showed them the rose and the snake. "See it's not something dumb, and Hawk's name isn't tattooed on there with a love heart."
Her mum smiled, "Gymnastics and karate. I like it."
"How did you even get it?" George asked, then he quickly changed his mind. "You know what? Knowing me as a teenager keeping my illegal smoking habit a secret from my parents, I don't want to know. It's nice and relatable to who you are. I see you haven't lost all sense."
"I'm very surprised that you'd say that."
"You're more like me than you think, Phoebe, especially with Cobra Kai in some aspects. Obviously don't go down the path that I did."
"Of course I won't. I don't believe in hurting people that don't deserve it, but I do believe in acting in self defence when needed."
"Exactly. Many people come into the ER after picking a fight over something completely stupid. Always do the right and safe thing." Sophie advised.
Phoebe smiled and nodded, then stepped down the hallway towards the bathroom. In truth, she was still quite upset about the whole ordeal but she had cried enough last night.
