It had been about two hours since Rick had been pulled away from planning the search party for Sophia, by Hershel. You'd managed to feed the horses for Maggie, help put dinner on the stove so it could slow cook for everyone, and even helped finish putting the groups forgotten clean laundry out to dry while you waited. Now there was nothing for you to do but wait for your twin brother and Hershel to get back from their super secret.. whatever they had been doing for almost three hours. Your feeling of anxiety was slowly churning in your gut again as you stood on the top step of the porch. Just leaning against the white porch beam that you'd almost died against, with mostly everyone else in the group gathered around. Your eyes were fixated on the road where your twin had walked down before he disappeared into the woods with the old farmer. The knowledge of Rick carrying his python with him was some what comforting to you, but it wouldn't do either of them much good if they got caught by a pack of walkers. Though you knew you'd be able to hear him firing it from where you stood, and that it would take a whole lot of hell to keep you from rushing to your twin brother's aid if need be. Almost everyone was accounted for. Carl, Beth, and Patricia played chess behind you on your right. While Glenn and Maggie sat in front of you on the steps. Lori was sitting in a rocking chair behind you on your left, simply reading some book she'd found.
"You look like you should be in line for the early brid special." Maggie teases Glenn, making you refrain from giggling at her while she takes Dales hat off his head. "Go get your cap. I'll wash it for you, okay?" She says to him making him nod and stand as Andrea and T, who had been keeping watch by the barn both head straight up the hill for you all. Obviously looking for the same answer to the question you'd been wondering almost all day now. You push off the beam of the porch you'd been leaning on when T looks up at you. "Do you know what's going on?" T asks up at you but before you can answer him, Andrea butts in while you step down the stairs to stand beside Maggie and Glenn. "Where is everyone?" She adds also looking over at you. "You haven't seen Rick?" Glenn asks them both in confusion before looking over at you expectantly. You shrug your shoulders, "He went off with Hershel. We were supposed to leave a couple hours ago." you state flatly. Your tone slightly aggravated as you see Daryl and Carol walking back up to the house as well. Your boyfriend seems less guilt ridden than when he left, but obviously concerned that you three hadn't left yet, and thankfully Carol looks like she might actually know her place. "Yeah ya were. What the hell?" Daryl asks, also now aggravated as well, but with a more gentle gaze as he was looking directly at you. "Rick told us he was going out." Carol states equally as confused as Glenn was. You shake your head with an eye roll while throwing your hands up. Obviously sore on the whole subject, having wanted to leave this morning like planned, but instead here you all were. Wasting even more precious daylight. "Damn it- Isn't anybody takin' this seriously?" Daryl questions towards the whole group, obviously as upset now as you were. He paces away from you as you step towards him, "We got us a damn trail." He says as he slings his arm in the direction you all were supposed to have been already searching.
You watch Daryl for a second before your eyes catch your other brother walking up in front of him. Shane was marching towards the house as if on a mission. He had the entire sheriffs duffle bag of guns on one shoulder, your assault rifle on the other, and a double barrel shot gun in his hand. He looked like he was ready for a fight and you immediately knew he was ready to clear the barn, with or without Hershel's blessing. "Oh, here we go." Daryl comments as he takes a few more steps towards your very pissed off looking brother. "What's all this?" Daryl asks, kind of confused as he points to the guns, more specifically about your rifle on his shoulder. "Ya with me, man?" Shane firmly asks Daryl as he eyes him down with a serious look. "Yeah.." Daryl says gruffly before taking the loaded shot gun from your brothers hand. Shane marches up to you next, "Ya with me, sis?" He questions down at you, holding out your assault rifle to you. His eyes blazing with an anger you hadn't seen before from him. He was done waiting. Done walking on eggshells for the man who kept a barn full of walkers for no good fucking reason. Done with this ass backwards logic about the walkers who wouldn't hesitate to tear you all apart of given the chance. You hesitate briefly. Only for a fraction of a second. Then you take your rifles familiar weight from his hand, pulling the mag out, and checking that it was full. It was. "Good." He says as you smack the mag back in before yanking a bullet into the chamber. All while Daryl walks up beside you, also cocking his shot gun. "Time to grow up." Shane announces as he walks up to everyone, "You already got yours?" He asks over at Andrea, who just stares at him like he was crazy. "Yeah, uh- Where's Dale?" She asks worriedly as you walk beside your boyfriend, behind your brother. "He's on his way." Shane flatly informs her as he reaches in the bag, and pulls out T's black hand gun before handing to him. "I thought we couldn't carry?" T questions looking from you to Shane, unsure of where this was fixing to go. "Yeah well- We can, and we have too." Shane says seriously, speaking truth as he steps back to stand in front of everyone.
