That next morning you were up early. Only because Daryl had gotten up early, saying he was gonna go "hunt" for a bit. Which was probably true, but you knew he was really just going out to wait for Carol and Rick. Who would both come out to join him in a hour or so for the secret meeting. So while your husband got ready to go out into the woods, you went upstairs and made some breakfast. Finding there was coffee which almost made your knees buckle in relief, not truly realizing how much you'd missed that perk of the world. Carl had come down a bit later with Judith, to help you out in making pancakes. So there you stood, making your famous "red neck" pancakes, as Shane called them, with Judy on one hip. Daryl came up stairs next, only to pause before he got too far into the kitchen. Watching you flipping pancakes as you joke around with Carl, the both of you both giving Shane absolute hell. All the while your grumpy brother attempted to wake up over the mug coffee you'd given him. After you set the spatula down you give Judy another piece of pancake to gnaw on before you lifted your coffee cup for another couple sips. Daryl damn near melted on the spot from the sight. It was odd at the same time for him though. These all too warm feelings he felt watching you with Carl and Judith. Knowing you were one of the most lethal and hard ass people he'd ever met. Yet, to see you be able to be this.. gentle, this easy going. Motherly almost. It only made that deep rooted urge to start a family with you rise up within him once again. He wanted that with you, so badly that it stunned him. He wanted you to be able to be a mother to his children. Wanted to help you raise them. It was still the strangest feeling he'd ever experienced. It was scary almost. Even though he'd been thinking about it for months on end now. Just to keep himself from asking if you wanted to attempt to start actually trying for children, he always reminded himself of what you'd told him. "The medics warned me I'm probably sterile. So if that's what you want... I'm probably not the one you need to be with." That's what your told him back at Hershel's farm. And that was what rang in his head every time he found himself thinking about it.

Yet lately, every time he reminded himself of that, it made his chest hurt with this heaviness. It was something like grief, but how can you grieve what you've never had or thought you'd ever want? Especially when his younger self always swore up and down that he'd never settle down, let alone have or even want a kid. He used to physically balk at the idea, but there you stood. Looking every single bit the perfect mother. The picture perfect wife. Even if he knew you were almost like a wolf in sheep's clothing by stepping into that kinda role. If anything, it made you that much more perfect to be a mother. Because of he did somehow manage to get you pregnant, god help anyone who tried to hurt your children. Even Carl and Judith. They weren't your kids, but they were your twin brothers. And your husband knew you'd do the most vicious and violent things to protect them. You'd take a bullet for them, and already had in Carls case. He knew you'd die for them without question or hesitation. He also knew he would too. He'd come to truly love his niece and nephew, just as much as you so obviously did. Even if it took him many, many months so come to terms with calling them his niece and nephew, he loved them all the same. He knew he'd love his own children with a much more deep rooted devotion. "Morning Uncle Daryl!" Carl states brightly, having spotted him staring at you with that utterly enthralled gaze of his. You looked over at him as you set your coffee mug down on the kitchen island. "Come eat before you take off- that way your stomach won't be grumbling n scare off all the game." You tell him with a teasing wink. Daryl scoffs a bit with a playful half smirk coming up on his lips before he takes a seat at the kitchen island beside a still half asleep Shane. "Mornin'." Shane comments before he downs more of his coffee. "Ya look like shit, man. The hell happened to ya?" Daryl asks making you snicker as you slide a plate of pancakes over to them both. "He stole a bottle of bourbon from us." You inform your husband with a very amused glance at your very hung over brother.

Shane rolls his eyes as he sets down his mug, "You said I could." Your brother retorts and he starts to dig into his food like a ravenous beast. You slide the syrup over between them, "I said you could steal a bottle. Not down it all in one night- dumb ass." You tell him flatly. Carl snickers and Judith busts out in a fit of giggles. Either to copy her big brother or because she was staring at Daryl, who happens to be one of her favorite people ever. You smile at her, "That's right- Shane's a biiig dumbass! Yes he is!" You coo, rather happily and very proud of yourself. Judith just tips her head back in a fit of belly laughter which makes you laugh lightly as Shane gives you a completely unamused look. Daryl even chuckles a bit as he watched Judy die laughing even harder when Shane playfully sticks his tongue out at her and blows a raspberry out at her. "Well- good morning to all of you." Michonne says with a light laugh as she comes down the stairs. "'Chonne- check it out. (Y/n/n) made pancakes!" Carl states happily as he slides her a plate across the table. She stops it before it slides off the table. Her gaze snapping to you in surprise, "You can cook?" Michonne asks you rather humorously with a grin. You snort at her as you flip the two pancakes in the pan, "I refuse to answer that until ya actually taste it. M' waaay outta practice." You tell her with a grin in your voice. "They're good, Angel." Daryl reassures you as he gets half way through his. "Bull shit." Shane states smugly as he actually finishes inhaling his. You raise a brow at Shane, "That's why your bout to lick the plate clean?" You ask smugly. Shane just snickers at you, "Pretty much." He states back with a shit eating grin. Michonne snorts at him, "Your such an asshole Shane- and they're really good, (Y/n/n). Don't let him fool you." She states seriously as she continues eating hers. "Well you're all welcome." You say as Judy starts to wiggle in your arms as you poured both her and Daryl a cup of coffee from the pot you had brewed. "Baby, did you close the door downstairs?" You ask curiously. "Mhm." Daryl lightly hums as he downs another fork full of pancake. "Good-" you say as you set down the pot of coffee. Then you set Judy down to let her take off in a hurried crawl over to her pack and play. Where she swiftly jerks over the basket of toys that Jess had brought for her.
