Later that night, you all stood around after just finishing dinner rations. The soup was good, but it made you miss buttered bread. Like really badly.. You stood up against Daryl, who leaned against a cell door beside Hershel on your left. Everyone was peacefully listening to Beth sing her take of "Hold On" by Tom waits. You realized you much preferred her take on it, and that she easily could have become a singer if the world wouldn't have imploded in on itself. The girl had a set of pipes, you'd give her that, and she was the only one who kept your craving for music at bay. Though you still missed your iPod like hell. Rick came down the steps with a sleeping Judith bundled up in his arms to stand by Hershel. You feel Daryl look over at your twin, "Some reunion, huh?" he comments making you scoff lightly. "She's in a jam." Rick states back. "We all are." Hershel adds, "Andreas persuasive.. This fellas armed to the teeth- hell bent on destruction." He says much quieter. Rick nods a bit at Hershel in complete agreement. "So, what do ya wanna do?" Daryl asks your brother. Rick looks from Daryl to you, "We match it." He says seriously.

His icy blue eyes look over your head back to Daryl, "I'm goin' on a run." Rick finishes. "I'll head out tomorrow." Daryl states making you tense a bit at the determination in his rough voice. "No, you two stay here. Keep an eye on your brother." Rick says noticing your immediate rigidness. Daryl nods a bit, and you glance at Merle who was staring at you four from across the room, leaned against the doors into the pitch black common area of the prison. "I'm glad you're back, really, but if he causes a problem. It's on you.." Rick tells Daryl seriously, also making a point to glance at you as well. To your man's credit, he didn't tense with worry at that, instead he just nods, "I got him." He says coolly to your twin. "I'll take Michoone." Rick says making you nod in agreement before you glance at her sitting on a blue bucket about ten feet away. "You sure that's a good idea?" Daryl asks Rick, genuinely curious. "I'll find out. N I'll take Carl." Rick says making you glance at Rick a bit surprised. He looks down at Judith and then at you, "He's ready." He says. You nod in agreement. Carl was ready, he had been for months now. "You hold it down here." He says, to you mainly. Daryl nods though, "You got it." Daryl says back without missing a beat.

You sigh as Beth continues into a different song, and Rick walks off to put Judith down for the night. You look over at Hershel, "Gonna go keep watch. I'll tell Carl and Shane to come in." You state as you pat Daryl's leg, wanting him to follow you. Though you knew he likely would anyway. You glance at Merle as you pass him and he nods at you with a knowing look, silently wondering if you'd changed you mind about the run you two spoke of earlier. You shake your head briefly, and he just looks away to his brother who noticed the interaction. Merle follows you two into the darkness of the common room, and you hear him call Daryl's name. You turn and see him staring at you, trying to figure out what you and his brother silently communicated just then. "I'll be outside." You tell Daryl with a small half smile. He nods, turning back to Merle who just nods at you as well.

You don't stick around to hear anything past, "What genius ass plan do they have cooked up brother?" From Merle in an all to smug tone. You couldn't decide if he was an asshole to hide that he was a half way decent person, or if he was in fact, just an asshole. Personally you think it's just who he is, considering Daryl himself could be quite the asshole at first. Once he opened up to you though, you realized Daryl was only an asshole to make him seem meaner than he actually is. Merle on the other had, his mean streak was definitely more vast than his little brothers. Either way, you definitely got the better brother in your eyes. Not that Merle was ever your type anyway, but Daryl definitely got the pretty person genes. The man could definitely of been a model though you knew he'd of rather died. You can't help but smile a bit at that thought as you spot Carl and Shane walking the fence line now lined with wood pallets to make it harder to be shot or spotted by a sniper, if they were in the woods.
