That evening after Rick, Carl, and Michonne returned took a turn from victory because they returned with enough ammo and heat to actually win this thing. To utter chaos when you presented the arrow, and note that was attached to it. Merle listened to you, keeping his mouth shut the whole time, much to his credit. The group was split on weather or not we should meet up with the Governor. You, Rick, Shane, Daryl, Carl, and Beth voted to go to the meeting. While Hershal, Maggie, Glenn, and Carol voted against it. Merle went with you and his brothers vote, even though Glenn and Shane snapped at him. Flat out telling him his opinion didn't matter, which only made him smile almost sad but it came off as arrogant to everyone else. Either way, majority voted to go. All intentions of hearing him out, and killing him if need be. That decision made you feel better, but you knew to keep your mouth shut about how you were going to leave early as fuck to be the first one there. Get a good personal feel for the Governor by yourself, and wait for your group. That way you'd insure Rick was safe as he could be when he walks into this lions den.
That night, after the hour of unloading guns and ammo, then another three hours of arguing and debating. Everyone went to bed. After everyone headed to bed, you spoke with your brothers about tomorrow. Both of them reassuring you that you were going with them, especially after you threaten to throttle them if they even attempt to bench you. That Glenn, Merle, Michonne and Carl would stay behind to watch over the prison. That it would be you, your brothers, and Daryl for muscle with Hershal for the get away driver. You agreed, leaving out where you'd leave and get there first. While Rick and Shane spoke with Daryl about it as well, making sure he was up for it, which of course if you were going so was he. Merle made sure you were absolutely sure about sneaking away early. You insisted you were, that you wanted to make sure it wasn't a trap for your brother. He understood and came up with the plan to offer to let you and Daryl keep watch for a few hours that night, then switch you with you both. After Daryl was asleep, he'd help you sneak out and then he'd not say a word until right before they came after you.
"Don't worry, I got ya covered sis." He says coolly making you actually smile a bit. That nickname was beginning to stick for him, and you didn't hate it. So you nod, grabbing his shoulder, "Good, cause I'm counting on it, brother." You tell him, seriously. He looks startled for a moment before he smiles lightly, nodding at you once. Once Daryl was done, you told Rick and Shane that you'd take a little bit of watch and then Merle would handle the rest of it for the night. They didn't even question it, thank god. So with that you and the Dixon brothers headed out to the guard tower for the night. Once up there Merle did exactly as he said, he quickly fell asleep while you and Daryl kept quiet watch. While you cleaned your rifle and then proceeded filled your empty rifle mags. Daryl couldn't help but glance at you every once in a while as he kept watch. He could just feel it in his gut. Something wasn't right. Though he thought you looked sexy as hell cleaning guns and filling mags. He knew you were readying for war and that knowledge twisted that anxiety within his stomach even more. He had paced slowly along the rail, keeping an eye on you and the tree line both. Now he stood leaned against the rail on your right, you sat on the metal grate floor reassembling your rifle. You glance up at him, catching him staring, no studying you for the twentieth time in the past two hours you'd been up there together.
You glance back down as you reassembled your rifle. "What?" You ask quietly as to not wake the trucker snoring that was radiating from behind you. He didn't answer you, and when you look over at him, he's just staring with that worry stricken blue eyes gaze, his arms tightly crossed. "Daryl.. what is it?" You ask slightly amused, as you finished putting your gun together. He shakes his head, "I just- Angel, I don't want you to go." He says seriously, voice full of worry. You freeze briefly, shit did Merle tell him? No, he definitely wouldn't be this calm if he knew, so you blink and quickly shake off your flash of panic. Your eyes look up to see him now very carefully watching you not exactly having missed that reaction. "I have too. You know that.." you tell him gently, trying to clam his obviously racked nerves. He searches your eyes, "You don't have too, though." He says lowly. You sigh a bit, "Everything is going to be, okay. You don't have to worry about me." You tell him seriously, knowing he was just worried.
