The next mornings sun had come up on you before you even knew it. It genuinely felt like you closed your eyes and reopened them a few minutes later. Instead of the dark cool night you were met with the searing sun which made you jolt awake from the rut sack now beneath your head as a pillow. "Mornin'.." Daryl's voice calls out to you gently. You turn your head to see him right beside you, knelt down as he had been digging through his bag. "How long have I been out?" You ask, knowing it was almost past morning as early afternoon crept up. "All night, thank god. Your brothers n I agreed ya needed it, so we wouldn't let anyone wake ya up." He says as he starts digging through his bag again, only to pull out a small granola bar. He tosses it to you, which you easily catch without looking from his eyes. "Eat. We're fixing to push into the prison if you're up for it." He says giving you a playful smirk as he stands. You stand with him and scoff, "Hell yeah, Iam." You state as you walk with him up to the group planning by the guard tower.

You listen to Rick and Shane talk through the plan to take out the court yard full of walkers. They had a solid plan, circle formation to keep everyone's backs covered while you all pushed in. That way no matter how many came your way, or when they tried to swamp y'all, there was almost no way anyone would go down. T-Dog, Glenn, Maggie, Daryl, Shane, Rick, and you were the strongest, there for you would be the ones to push in. Which left Hershel with Beth, Carol, Carl, and Lori, to draw the walkers to the fence in order to keep the flow towards the run group a bit lighter, and more manageable. Even though Carl begged to go in with all of you to help, your bothers and you agreed that there was absolutely no way in hell he'd be stepping foot in there while the walkers still roamed free. Instead you asked him to keep point over the girls with Hershel which made him feel needed and less likely to continue arguing that he was old enough to help. So after everyone was clear with the plan, you now stood with Daryl to your right and Shane to your left. Hershel now stood at the gate beside Rick and Shane who were side by side, taking the lead. "Ready?" Hershel asks them, making you nod while pulling out your military knife, giving the blade a subconscious but rather skilled spin in your hand. Rick nods once before he unlatched the gates and yanks it open with the help of Hershel. Your all through in less than five seconds while T takes down the first walker headed right for all of you. You hear Hershel slam the gate shut behind all of you, insuring that the rest of the group was safe in the yard, but also insuring you were now trapped once again in a cage with over a dozen starved walkers.

"Daryl-" Shane calls as a walker comes right for you. Your brother immediately has the rest of his sentence answered when Daryl grips the walker tightly by the collar of its severely sun faded blue collared jump suit. Daryl shoves his buck knife into the walkers skull so hard he actually lifts it off the ground before he rips it back out. You can't help but swoon a bit at the sight of his arm muscles that made the well over hundred and fifty pound walker look as if it weighed nothing at all. He glances back at you making you smirk and quickly look away, your sights trained on one coming for Shane's flank. You quickly shove your military knife into the base of its skull and let it fall beside your brother who gives you a grateful glance, as he hadn't seen it coming for him.
"Come on!" Rick yells in confidence at a few walkers headed for them as he swipes them down with his machete. It was obvious he was feeling the exhilaration with his family backing him, and the confidence was honestly contagious. Even though you knew this would be a rather taxing task to complete, you also knew you all had it in the bag. Over the months the group had become a well oiled walker slaying machine, so this almost seemed like light work compared to the past months. Especially when you all knew the reward was a very safe place to possibly call home that would be damn near impenetrable. "Get tight! GET TIGHT!" Glenn yells as a few walkers turn around from the fences where the other half of you were screaming and banging on the fences. They were trying to be loud to draw over as many walkers as possible. It was working for a good few, but for the ones that didn't had started to close in on Glenn and Maggie's side. Still you pushed through as you and Daryl take down another six between yourselves.
