The next few days were a whirl wind of horrific discoveries. After Reg was buried Deanna and Rick refused to let Pete be buried inside the walls. Most people agreed with that, aside from Ron. Morgan and Rick took Pete out into the woods west of Alexandria to be disposed of on Deanna's orders. While they were out there they discovered that the quarry, less than five miles from Alexandria, was crammed full of walkers. According to Rick, there were at least thirty thousand of them which made your blood run cold in your veins. Once they got back and your twin told you all that, you added a girl named Holly to the watch shifts after her and her group came back from a weeks long run. You also begrudgingly kept Spencer on watch as well as to ease Deanna eerily silent break down. Rick called an emergency meeting and Deanna in-forced it as mandatory. There Rick, you, and Shane came up with a pretty good plan to draw the walkers away. To be able to immediately get to work, ask the quarry's erosion was going to have all of them coming straight for Alexandria in a matter of weeks. It was a rocky discussion at first, as a few didn't wanna fall behind Rick, let alone you because you slaughtered Pete without hesitation or remorse. But Deanna shut that shit down quickly. The plan was to block off the roads on both sides with cars, to funnel the walkers down the road. The only problem you had with the whole plan was the fact that Daryl, Sasha, and Aberham would lead the front of the horde as baited guides. Keep them on track. Even though you tried to plead with Daryl to not be literal walker bait, he insisted. Begrudgingly, you agreed to let him. Even though he refused to let you come with him on the back of his bike.
The only good thing about all of this was the community seemed to finally be accepting your group. Even if a very few were still obviously hesitant about it. That and every single morning before you and Daryl went to help line up cars or build up the wall, he made love to you like it was the last time he'd ever be able too. He did it every single night after working all day too. Even if you were both so physically exhausted, you both found the energy to love each other. It took all of five days to build up a wall to turn the walkers from Alexandria, and another day to hammer out the practice run through before everyone actually did it. The day before the dry run, Rick, Shane, and Daryl had to shut down a small group of people who wanted to kill Rick and you. Spencer, Olivia, Tobin, Carter and a few others to be exact. Rick didn't kill Carter, while had set up the secret meeting, much to his credit. Even though Daryl almost beat him damn near to death for threatening your life alone. On the day of the dry run, it was all going well as Rick ran through the plan once again. Of course, the universe or whatever higher power decided to get their kicks in again at the expense of your family. One of the tractor trailers that was keeping the horde closed in finally fell down into the quarry. Opening the walker flood gates right before everyone's eyes.
The Alexandrian's were terrified, and exclaimed that they weren't ready and they began to spiral from panic in record timing. Especially when Rick changed the plan slightly to make this work right now. There'd be two teams now, the main one with you and Rick making sure the majority keep on track. And then Glenn and Shane's team who would race ahead to clear out the tractor store that had a small cluster of walkers that were rattling the glass widows. Just so they didn't draw the massive horde off track towards Alexandria. Yet, your family jumped the situation and was confident you all could do this, which eased the Alexandrian's a little bit. You knew you all could, so that's what y'all stuck too. The solid plan Rick had come up with. You watched as Daryl took off on his bike with Sasha and Abraham right behind him in that beat up red impala. You stuck to the plan and took off with Rick, even despite the gnawing urge to go with your husband. Morgan, Michonne, Rick, and you raced ahead of Daryl, Sasha, and Aberham as they lead the horde out of the quarry. Firing flares every once in a while to keep the walkers attention. Insuring that they stayed on track and between the lines of cars you'd all set up. Finally after running down what seemed like the never ending quarry dirt road, you all cut through the woods. Which swiftly lead you four to the orange point, the wall, or as Tara had nicknamed it, "the Gauntlet". The wall of rolled steel was reinforced with multiple wooden beams, two cars, and the RV to keep it standing. It seemed ready, and you praying it was sturdy enough. Given that was all that stood between the straight shot back home, and the sharpe right turn the horde needed to make in order for your husband, Sasha, and Aberham to lead them another twenty miles away. You were previously confident it would hold, but not so much now that this had become an emergency situation.
