That next morning, you stood beside Daryl after once again not really sleeping much since Rick and Shane both practically forbade you going to sleep in the guard tower. Nobody felt comfortable with it, especially since you'd been shot already. So to keep the peace, you begrudgingly stayed in the prison cell block with everyone else aside from Merle. The next morning, you proudly sported your ring on your left hands ring finger. Especially after Daryl had slipped it on well after you'd fallen asleep, during the two measly hours you'd managed to catch. Merle snoring like a trucker was woke you in the very early morning, so you laid there with Daryl who was unfazed by his brothers loud ass. Now you listened to everyone arguing about what to do next, and complaining about how nobody could even go outside in the day light. You pointed out how sniper rounds would slide through the metal tables and wooden palates like a hot knife through butter. Though you added that might stop a pistol round if we got lucky, just because everyone looked more frightened by your serious comment. Rick insisted that the group wasn't going to run, and both you and Shane backed your brother, along with Glenn surprisingly. Merle just chucked at you four and your determination to stay though. "No, better live like rats." He spits from behind the cell block door that he leaned against to watch all of you bicker. Rick whirls around to face him as you glare down at him from the second floor beside Daryl.
"You gotta better idea?" Shane snaps at him with an all too hateful glare, ready to rip his head off for Glenn alone. Merle gives him an obviously smug half grin, "Uh, yeah. We should have slid outta here last night n lived to fight another day. But we lost that window didn't we? I'm sure he's got scouts on every damn road outta this place by now." He tells Rick, before glancing up at you from between the bars. Your brows furrow at him, wondering if he was right, deciding that he probably was. It's what you'd of done if the roles were reversed and you had the men to do so. It would be the smartest thing to do honestly. Daryl lowly growls at his brother as he pushes off the rail beside you, "We ain't scared of that prick." He snaps down at his brother as he walks closer towards him to glare down to him. Almost warning him to shut his damn mouth and stop riling everyone up worse than they all were already. "Y'all should be.." Merle says lowly, his gaze sliding back towards you seriously, only earning him a cold look from you.
You weren't scared of that asshole, as far as you were concerned he was an asshole neighbor who kept letting his mutts fuck around in your front yard. Merle's gaze glances from you, to his brother, then to Rick beside Shane just a few feet in front of him. "That truck through the fence thing, that's just him ringin' the door bell. We might have some thick walls to hide behind, but he's got the guns, and the numbers." He says glancing up at you agian. "If he takes the high ground around this place, shit.. he could just starve us out if he wanted to." He says all too seriously. You sigh at him, knowing he was right though you fucking hated to admit it and would never agree with him aloud. "Let's put him in the other cell block." Maggie says seriously as she glances over at Rick hoping he'd back her up and agree. "No.. he's got a point." Daryl says down to Maggie and Rick. You can't help but silently nod in agreement with him either. Maggie huffs in frustration, "This is all you! You started this!" She yells at him only for Merle to shrug, not exactly denying it, but also not showing much remorse either.
Beth steps around Carol to stand in the middle of the stair way at the top, "What's the difference whose fault it is? What do we do?" She questions with obvious worry from behind Hershel seated on the metal steps. "I said we should leave, n now axels dead. We can't just sit here!" Hershel tells Rick seriously. Rick just looks down, debating for a second before turning, starting to walk away. You sigh and rub your eyes with a hand, obviously exhausted with Rick's running and hiding. "GET BACK HERE!" Hershel roars making your eyes snap open to find him standing now. Rick stops and Hershel takes five big hops towards him, "You're slipping Rick. We've all seen it, we understand why. But now is not the time! You once said this isn't a democracy. Now ya have to own up to that! I put my family's lives in your hands! So get your head clear and do something!" Hershel snaps at him, almost coldly.
