Thirty minutes later, Daryl was practically surgically attached to your side. You weren't complaining, not in the slightest. If anything his towering form lurking directly behind you had kept the Alexandrian's at bay from talking your ear off. At least for this last, grueling, half hour. Unfortunately now enough alcohol was in everyone's system to make them brave enough to approach you both. If only you had enough in your system, which unfortunately, neither you nor your husband did. Now that Shane had abandoned you to go flirt with a really pretty red headed woman about his age, people started to approach. Rick, Michoone, and Carl were mingling. Rosita and Aberham had already bailed. Stayed long enough for you and Aberham to have a single drink, and laugh at these idiot ass people before then they fled. Probably because Rosita grinned deviously as she then reminded Aberham that she was not wearing any panties beneath the really pretty dress she had worn. Then they both left in a not so subtle, grinning hurry. Eugene wasn't not subtle about following after them, less than a minute later, either. You hadn't seen Deanna yet, well you had, but were currently doing your up most to avoid conversation, like the one you found yourself drug into. Two ladies had cornered you and your husband. The short chunky lady to your right, with kinky blonde hair and hazel green eyes was named Liana. Her husband who could honestly be confused as her brother, because they looked so much alike, was James. The brunette to your left, Linda, was Liana's older sister, by one year as she'd pointedly said five minutes ago. They could be twins, except Linda was way taller than her sister and had way darker hair. She was also unmarried, and you knew well why. Both of these ladies were extremely full of themselves and had the habit of overstepping by alot. Well more Linda than Liana. Liana seemed half way normal and generally sweet. Her elder sister was the complete, damn near insufferable opposite.
"I'm telling you, it's true! This place is so safe. I just don't see the reason in having cops. Or a head of security for that matter. No offense of course." Linda states with that teeth grinding fake politeness she'd held in her voice since she'd walked right up to you like you'd known each other for years. "..None taken." You state coolly, almost flatly over the rim of your crystal scotch glass as you take another long sip of the amber bourbon within. "Some taken." Daryl growls lowly, definitely flatly, before he downs more of his third beer. Your husband's eyes start searching once again for Rick. Having been subtly trying to catch your twins eye to come save you, or literally anyone to get you both away from Linda. "Linda!" Liana says with nervous amusement, "Their just doing what Deanna asked of them." Liana adds pointedly, her brows rising as if to beg her sister to let up. Liana definitely was the kinder of the two, and poor James looked like he didn't say much at all. Let alone go up against Linda anymore. He'd probably lost that war years ago, not that you could really blame him. Linda just rolls her eyes, "I'm just saying. What exactly makes you capable of keeping us safe? Especially when we're already safe behind the walls? We've literally never had a problem before- like ever." She says pointedly at you. Her hands waving in front of herself as if to draw a line which almost makes her spill her white wine. This just earns her a blank stare from you, already knowing you'd cause an argument if you went off about how fucking stupid that sounded. That was what Linda was searching for though, any reason to start an argument, and you so did not want to give her the satisfaction. "My wife is fully capable." Daryl snaps as he glares over at her coldly now. Your hand reaches behind you, resting gently on his leg to let him know to stay calm. Linda just scoffs, "Easy big boy, I mean no offense." She says with a fake kind smile that did not meet her eyes as she obviously eyes your husband up and down. The glazed want in her eyes for Daryl had your teeth gritting. "Careful, Miss Linda." You warn flatly as you stare at her. She laughs a bit, to light heartedly as if to brush off your clear warning. "I apologize if you take offense." She says with a smile that makes you blink to avoid rolling your eyes. You sigh ever so slightly as you look over at Shane who made the red head bust out in a fit of light laughter. "I heard from Aiden that you were in the army. Is that why you were chosen for head of security?" Liana asks curiously, her voice genuine. "I was, so I reckon." You tell her simply as you look back at her. "I admire that. We had a niece in the Air Force." Liana tells your with a sad smile towards her husband who just nods in agreement.
