The next morning when you woke up you see Daryl was still out for the count. Laying on his good side with his whole body curled into yours, his nose pressed into your chest. His face was gentle, completely at peace, and he didn't stir when you carefully sat up from him. You brush some of his sleep messed hair from his forehead before placing a gentle kiss to his stitched temple. Letting your lips linger there before you get up and quickly get dressed. You spot a plate of fruit and two glasses of orange juice on the bed side table with a small paper propped against one of the glasses. It read "Good Morning! :)" and you knew it had to of been Beth or Maggie who'd snuck in and gave you both breakfast in bed. After stealing a few blueberries and black berries, you down your glass of OJ as Daryl shifts to be on his back in his sleep. You eat a strawberry, pausing to see if he would wake with the morning sun that was beginning to flood into the room. When he doesn't you lean down towards him and whisper very softly so you didn't wake him. "Good morning, 'm going with Shane today. I love you.." You breathe against his forehead before kissing his skin. Going to stand you didn't expect his hand to grab your chin to pull you down so he could kiss your lips, but he dose. His quick movements making you jump slightly. He holds you there briefly against his lips. Letting you relax into his kiss, only then does he let you pull back some.
You don't miss the light smirk playing on his lips as he opens his tired crystal eyes to gaze up at you. "Don't over due it, n I love ya too." He says with his deep sleep laced voice, his smirk only widening into a grin when you laugh lightly. "I didn't mean to wake you.." you softly admit. He hums a low brief chuckle and lean up to kiss your lips again. "Was up the second ya got away from me." He informs you as he lays back and puts his arm under his head, getting comfortable again. You shake your head at him, amused by his incredibly light sleeping. You stand and run your fingers through hair again, making his eyes close, relaxing under your touch. "Just rest. I'll be back later." You tells him as you turn to walk away, knowing Shane would be getting ready to head out. He grabs your wrist at the last second, remembering that Shane was going to teach some of the group to shoot today. "Hey- Ya be safe." He says with now slightly worried tone, remembering all to well what happened the last time you went off without him. You smile lightly, your hand slipping into his, just do you could run your thumb over his scared knuckles. "I will. Don't worry." You tell him with a light hearted smile that he found so damn contagious. "I cain't help it, Darlin'." He reminds you with a small smile of his own ghosting his lips, even though his expression was tired. You knew he'd come with you is he wasn't so hurt and exhausted. "I'm just gonna help Shane instruct. Just sleep, I'll be back before ya even know it." You say leaning down to kiss his hand. He nods and lets your much smaller hand slip from his as you walk away. You open the door and look back to him, "I love ya, (Y/n)." He says softly again as he watches you go. You smile at him, "I love you too, Daryl." You say back over your shoulder as you walk out and close the door. He sighs as he listens to your foot steps walk out down the hall. He sighs frustrated as the screen door slams close behind you. Wishing he could go with you, but he was honestly sore as fuck, and wanted to sleep until next week. He hears you skip down the front steps. So he decided to try to take your advice, and just sleep until you came back to him.
Walking down the steps of the front porch, you spot Glenn and Lori talking about something. With Lori's body language, it looked more like they were arguing. You rolled your eyes at Lori's obvious rude attitude towards Glenn as you continue to walk around the side of camp. Heading straight for where Rick, Shane, and Jimmy were all standing around the Cherokee talking over a map. Shane spots you and waves you over, he then whistles. "Hey! Peach Man!" He yells past you towards Glenn making you have to refrain from laughing as you come up to them. "Like I said. The current could have brought it down stream." Rick says as you lean beside your brother over looking the map. They both nod a good morning towards you and you just smile back at them. "So what, you think she took this road here, and then she went north?" Shane questions as he follows the creek with his finger on the map to the road, then north. You watch him tap the paper as he looks up at Rick who nods. "Yeah. What's up that way?" Rick asks while looking over at Jimmy. "A housing Development. It went up maybe ten years ago." Jimmy says as he leans his elbow against the Cherokee, his cheek in his hand as he scans the map. Rick nods glancing at you seeing you believed it was a good lead, "Take a run up there after gun practice. I'll hold down the fort here, but take backup." He says over to Shane but shakes his head as he glances over at you. "After what happened with Daryl, I don't want anyone goin' out alone. We stay in pairs." He finishes sternly making you nod, completely agreeing with your twin.
