You woke up a few hours later that morning and decided to start doing random stuff around the camp until Shane offered to go get more water. You volunteered to go help him since nobody else was up for that kind of heavy lifting that early in the morning. Not when Lori was doing laundry with Amy, Andrea, and Carol already. After getting multiple gallons of water to take back to camp, Shane was getting ready to drive back up the hill with you in the passenger side of his Jeep. Neither one of you had really said much that morning. He'd long become accustomed to your silence in the weeks you'd been back from over seas. He just figured it was because of Rick being "dead". It didn't help that last night that was the only time he had an actual conversation with you since Rick returned alive and well.

You had assumed that he knew that you knew about him and Lori, and that he was too afraid to talk to you too much out of fear you'd berate him for it. "Shane..." you say suddenly before he had a chance to start the Jeep. He pauses and looks over at you. "You okay?" He asked quickly noticing you weren't looking at him still. Like you hadn't since you laid eyes on Rick. You take a deep breath, "You should tell Rick." You tell as you slowly, finally look over at him. He sighs heavily, taking his hat off and running his hand through his thick, black mess of curls before putting it back on. "What do ya mean?" He asks carefully, trying to subtly confirm what he was already thinking. What he knew you were referring too.

You stare at him for a second. Taking in his nervousness and his inability to look you directly in the eyes. "Shane, I've known you since forever. I know you, and I know when you've been sleepin' with someone. Especially when you're guilty about it." You point out firmly, and he just looks down in shame. "I didn't- I thought-... (Y/n), I really fucked up didn't I?" He asks quietly. Finally letting you see just how guilt ridden he really was over it, making your eyes soften for a second. "Yeah... but you have to make it right." You say while sitting back in the Jeep's passenger seat and looking out the windshield. Your hand subconsciously starting to fiddle with your dogtags again. Simply waiting for him to say something else. He never dose. Choosing to start the engine after a few more seconds of silence before speeding up the road to the camp.

You see your brother walking from Carol to Lori who's hanging up shirts on the laundry line when Shane slams on the brakes before turning off the Jeep. "Waters here y'all. Just remember to boil before use." Shane announces to the group, and Rick waves to you both while you jump out of the passenger seat. Lori and Shane made quick eye contact that was icy on Lori's part. Shane didn't react to Lori's hatful look though. He just walks around to the back of the Jeep, proceeding to help you take the jugs of water out. Once you're finally done, you take your assault rifle out of the Jeep before you glance at Lori and Rick, who seemed to be arguing from your brother's tense body language. You roll your eyes at that, a bit baffled that Lori was already picking fights with Rick after he'd been back a grand total of five seconds. Your jerked from your annoyance on your twins behalf, when a horrifyingly familiar scream catches your immediate attention. 'Carl' You think while taking off in an instant full sprint before he even had the chance to scream again. "Mom! Dad!" Carl screams in terror while Sophia screams as well. You race though the trees, gun ready and your dog tags jingling with every thudding step.

Carl runs past you, straight into Lori's arms. "Go I got him! Go!" You heard her say breathlessly but you kept going running. Jumping clear over the wire with cans on it, the alarm system you and Shane set up on day one. Rick and a few others were hot on your heels but you didn't slow down. Not until you skid to a stop when you come around a bush, only to see a walker over a deer carcasses. It's dead hands tearing and ripping at the deer's flesh, while its already blood soaked maul continues devouring it. Panting slightly you quickly scanned the area for more that could be lurking in the trees, drawn by Carl and Sophia's screaming. When you find no movement in the trees, you glance back at your kept rifle site on the walkers skill. Ready, just in case it notices all of you and decides to make a move for fresher flesh. When it did finally acknowledge you guys, Rick, Glenn, Dale, Morales and even Shane sprung into action before your finger started to squeeze the trigger. All of them started beating the walker rather ruthlessly. As if it owed them personally for a life it could have easily taken. You were about to say that beating it even more senseless wasn't gonna do any good, but Dale hacks its head clean off. Surprising you, while also making you hold back a laugh of slight amusement.
