It was early morning. The sun had just barely started to lighten the sky up into a pale lilac when Daryl started to wake up. When he did wake up enough to realize where he was, he froze as a blush made its way up to his cheeks, burning to the tips of his ears. (Y/n) was slightly propped against the passenger door still. Her right leg straight out, laying off the seat and resting against the floor beneath the steering wheel. Her left leg was against the back of the seat, bent comfortably so he could sleep comfortably all night long. He had too. All night while laying her stomach, right between her legs. That realization was not helping the morning wood situation he had going on. His arms were still wrapped around her waist while she slept under him. His heart flutters at how beautiful and peaceful she looked while asleep. Not a trace of stress on her heart stopping features as she lays there unmoving. He smiles lightly, sitting up slowly and as quietly as possible. Trying to unwrap his arms from around her without waking her, as he knew she didn't sleep much. Or very well when she did for that matter. His light smile stays though, even when she shifts a little in his absence, but she stays asleep. Her dog tags jingling slightly when they shift between her breasts. It was a little cool this morning, so he reached down into the floor boards. Grabbed his leather vest and rested it over her body to cover her a little bit. He was probably her source of warmth all through the night, and he didn't want her to wake up because she was cold.
He opens the truck door skillfully quiet, taking another glance at how beautiful he thought she was with her lips parted slightly as she slept with his vest over her body. He couldn't help but lean over and place a gentle kiss on her forehead before he grabs his cross bow off the floor and slips silently out of the truck. He closes the door again, just to let her sleep as long as she could. Daryl knew she didn't sleep much, and he wanted her to get some rest. He also knew that lot of it was because of her PTSD from her past, and simply because the world ended. It didn't matter to him, or change how he saw her. If anything he admired how strong willed she was to keep on trucking through whatever haunted her so deeply. He just wanted her to sleep right now, simply because she was already there. He slings his bow over his shoulder before stretching his back. Carful taking in the cool morning's surroundings. Not seeing any more walkers dead on the ground besides the one he wasted earlier that morning, he walks around the RV to where he heard some people talking. As he rounded the corner he saw Rick, Shane, Glenn and Dale all talking amongst themselves. They look up at him and Rick nods at him acknowledging him in silent greeting before continuing. "I think it's our best bet. (Y/n) mentioned that they're heavily armed. Probably more so now that the CDC has fallen." Rick says to the men as Daryl stops to stand beside Dale. "Okay, Rick- but what if they got overrun. The CDC shouldn't have fallen, but it did. We're running low on food and fuel, chasin' somethin' that we don't know even exists." Shane counters. Making a point but using an unnecessary assholeish tone once again.
"I'm not sure the RV can make it that far. That radiator hose isn't doing too hot." Dale adds seriously, making Rick sigh. "We can't stay here. We're sittin' ducks." Rick states just as seriously, starting to get frustrated. "He's right. We can't stay here. Only a matter of time before a herd or somethin' blows through like at the camp." Glenn speaks up while looking at Rick who gives him a grateful look for agreeing with him. Shane just sighs running a hand down his face, obviously not liking the idea of going to a place that could very easily be gone. "Fine. But we have to be smart about goin' all that way." Shane says and Dale nods agreeing. "Could leave the van, my truck, n your Jeep. Take the gas with us." Daryl suggests, speaking up for the first time. Earning him a slightly sicker glance from all of them from his smart idea. And (Y/n) wonders why he thinks they all see him as nothing but fucking dumb ass, redneck. Rick nods though in agreement of Daryl's idea. The only one who didn't look shocked by it. "Yeah, that's a good idea. What about your bike?" Rick asks and Daryl scoffs in amusement. "I ain't leavin it. I can ride ahead in case anything comes up." He says and Rick chuckles at him. "Alright you'll lead the way then." Rick agrees without hesitation before glancing at everyone else. "Glenn, help Dale and Shane siphon the gas from Daryl's truck, Shanes Jeep, and the church van. Anythin' that won't fit in the RV, we can store in the back of the Cherokee." Rick says and everyone nods before Rick and Shane walk off to do their jobs. Glenn and Daryl stay by the RV door while Dale gets the hose and gas cans from the RV.
