"So who've you been in love with?" Kyle asked softly.
He had you cornered on a wall, one arm holding him against the wall and the other tracing the side of your waist. The two of you look like a traditional couple. Even felt like a traditional couple to you, even though you weren't.
"Whose asking?" You teased, reaching a hand to grab the hem of his collar.
"Me," he choked out.
"Well, in that case," you pulled him closer, "Plenty of guys, in books, of course," you laughed before slightly pushing him away.
"Ha ha, very funny," he rolled his eyes.
You smiled up at him. The banter between the two of you was amazing. Everything with him was amazing.
"But for real. Who've you been in love with?" Kyle questioned again.
Love was never really an option for you. Craig prevented it every time you even got close to liking or getting with someone. You never had the chance to fall in love.
"No one," you sighed, "I'm not sure I even know what it feels like."
He scrunched his face up in confusion, "What do you mean?"
"Craig," you grumbled, "he always prevented it early on. And I say I fall in love with book characters, but that's different. That's the only thing I know about it. It can't be described in words."
The two of you looked at each other for a moment. Soaking in everything. Especially you, you were looking through every interaction you've ever had, trying to relate it to someone you've read before. But as you look at his drawn on mustache and his obnoxiously bright green hat, you couldn't describe what you felt. His mop of red curls was adorable, of course. His sharp jaw was charming. The curve to his nose was enchanting. The green with hints of hazel in his eyes were mesmerizing. But overall, you couldn't explain the feeling for him.
"That's deep," Kyle laughed off, trying to avoid the way he was looking at you and the way you were looking at him.
"I guess," you sighed. He pulled himself back from you. Taking his hand off your waist and opening his view to the party.
You took the opportunity to take a long sip of your drink. The drink you've been holding for several hours now but haven't finished. Now you were going to. Luckily, Kyle was distracted enough with analyzing the room, that he missed you taking a minute long sip of your half full bottle, now empty.
With the opening to get some space from your overly attached fake boyfriend, you took it. Grabbing his arm before telling him where you were heading.
Only a few people knew about the small hideaway kitchen. The best liquor in the cabinets, and a quiet space to hang out. The moment alone would be refreshing.
"Hey."
After turning the corner to the kitchen, you were met with Clyde. Him nursing, what looks like a small glass of some expensive whiskey while leaning against a counter facing the entryway.
"Hey," you nodded to him. Preferring not to get into a conversation, you walked past him and dug into the fridge to grab mixers and some liquor to fill up your bottle.
"Damn, that's a lot," Clyde gasped as he saw you fill up your entire bottle with mainly liquor and hardly any mixer or ice. "You sure you can handle all that?"
You hummed, spinning around to out away the things you took out, "Yeah, done it a million times. Even if I couldn't, I know the majority of the people at this party so I'll be fine."
"As long as you know you have people. I'm here if you get too fucked up," he communicated.
"Yeah, I know. Don't worry, though, I know how to handle myself," you dismissed, appreciating his offer.
"Make sure you stay away from the Zach guy," he cautioned.
You groaned, "Trust me, I know."
"I don't think he'd be here, but if he is, I'll let Craig know immediately," he pointed at you to make sure you knew he was serious.
"God, Craig would kill him," you laughed.
Maybe you didn't need to be alone with your thoughts, just given some different company.
"Hey, random question," you said while looking down at the bottle in your hands.
"Shoot."
"What's it like to be in love?" You mumbled.
"Falling in love with Kyle already?" He asked softly.
"I don't know," you confessed, "It weird. I just feel. I don't know. Safe? Normal? He doesn't push me to be someone I'm not, while at the same time, he pushes me to be better?"
"I'd say love is different for everyone," he began, "Unfortunately, I'm not the best to ask."
"Why?" You pondered.
He let out a light laugh, "I don't think I've ever been in love."
"But you've dated a lot of people? For long amounts of time?" You commented.
"Yeah, but it's never been out of, 'I love this person.' I kind of just date the people that like me, I never really like them. I grow to be comfortable around them and treat them like a partner, but I don't ever really love them. I don't think I do, at least. It feels too plain to feel like love. Like after the break up, I'm only upset for like, 5 minutes, then I'm completely over it," he confided.
"So you've never dated someone you've liked?" You reiterated.
"Yeah. Dated people I found hot, but never necessarily like em'," he shrugged, swirling his drink before taking a swig.
Love seemed to be different for everyone. How were you supposed to figure it out? 17, never felt it, never had the chance to, now anyone you ask doesn't know either? Asking Craig or Tweek was impossible since Craig would just tell you to leave Kyle if you didn't love him. Then Stan and Wendy had too many problems to ask them. Plus, Wendy was pissed at you.
"Enough about me," Clyde guestered to you with his drink before taking a sip, "What about you? Love Kyle?"
You groaned, setting your drink on the counter behind you before hopping up to sit on the counter. "Maybe, I don't know," you rubbed your hands on your face.
"It's not bad if you do," he laughed, "He is your boyfriend after all."
"Yeah, but I hated him first. I can't admit that I love him now," you grumbled, "Plus I don't even know if I do."
"Well, what do you feel around him? I may not know what it feels like personally, but I have a pretty good guess," he smiled.
Looking at him now, it was crazy to think that people used to call him the secondary Cartman. He acted nothing like him. Though the two of you weren't close, you could trust him.
"Might be here for a while?" You laughed off, trying to warn him before the rant.
"I'm all ears, as long as I have my whiskey," he joked."
