As you lock the wooden door you've become familiar with over the last few months, you took a breath in.
While you skipped to the door in the first place, eager to continue, you paused when your hand touched the lock. Wanting to soak in everything that happened. Everything more that was going to happen. Taking the last few moments slowly before you were thrown into a whole new thing.
Twisting the lock and closing your eyes as you acknowledge everything. Grounding yourself by placing your other hand on the door, gently.
Rather than keeping your thoughts to yourself, you spoke them just quiet enough for only him to hear, "This is crazy."
You heard Kyle shuffle behind you, "What is?"
"We used to hate each other, faked dated, lied to all our friends, and now," you paused for a moment, " And now we're here."
"Yeah," Kyle's voice had a comforting tone, "but it feels right." His voice drifted off, almost like he was in a dream.
"It does," you softly agreed. Taking one last breath before opening your eyes. Turning to face the nice guy you've gotten to know. The very same guy that you used to bicker with in every subject you shared.
You met his eyes from his place on the bed, the breath being knocked out of both of you as you cherished this moment.
His fire red curls more messy than normal, still holding some of the water from a shower he must have taken the second he got home. The water already made his hair more weighed down and messier than normal, but the stressed state he seemed to be in before you got there couldn't have helped. The guy always ran his hands through his hair when he was thinking hard or stressed. But even as you looked at his messy hair, you just wanted to make it worse in the most loving way.
The green eyes you've grown to love, with normal hits of hazel around his pupil, we're almost all covered. The darkness, love, and lust clouding his eyes as he took you in.
His eyes darting around your face, stopping for a moment on each feature. Focusing on the extra color that was added to your lips in the passion of a kiss, the subtle plump to them as well. No matter how much or how many features of yours he looked at, he always came back to look at your eyes.
The color is enhanced despite the dark of the room. Brightened with only the dim light of his computer. The light only shows hues of green and the light up grey background of his screen. The pupil covering a good portion of your eyes as you looked at him with love.
The pang to his chest was only as immediate as it was to yours. The softness of the moment causes a smile to grace your faces. The tender moment makes you slowly walk over to him, closing the distance with every step.
"You know," you spoke softly as you stood in front of him. He was still in the sitting position you left him in. "I originally was going to lock the door, strip as I came back to you."
"Yeah?" Kyle whispered just as softly.
"But as always, you've changed my idea," you laugh lightly, bringing a hand to rest on his shoulder.
"I tend to do that," Kyle returned your laugh as he pulled you closer. Grabbing your hips.
"Yeah," you smiled, leaning into him more. Letting your hands come together at the base of his neck, messing with the curls that fell to the back of his neck.
"Glad I do, though," Kyle whispered, moving his hands to your waist, rubbing up and down your torso. "Would much prefer to take them off myself," he flirted, a teasing smile covering the loving one from before.
You laughed quietly, melting into him more, "I bet you would."
His hands played with the hem of your shirt as he looked up at you. Despite the loving smile being gone, he still had his loving eyes. "Can I?" He asked softly as he gave a light tug to the shirt you wore.
