The following days passed. Wukong and Liuer's friendship blossomed. Wukong went to council meetings every day to give advice to the king. It was more like Wukong was saying what was wrong and the king was agreeing. The generals were indignant that some stranger from nowhere had a more important opinion than them.
Of course, Wkong's guess about the borders was correct. The border had changed just a little bit, but still the king was angry that he didn't know it earlier. They needed to fix it quickly. Only the army became another problem. Poorly organized.
And so now Wukong and the king (plus a few generals). They stood in front of some common soldiers in a training room for military exercises.
"I don't understand what you expect from me," Wukong said surprised. He wasn't told what he was going to do today. Especially what will it do with the soldiers?
"You are my advisor. We need a decent army. We will all think about what is wrong here. General Ling will show one way to train soldiers."
And here is the problem. Wukong wasn't sure how to judge this. He wasn't a fighter. He was a civilian with no memories, and how does that help the army? Surprisingly for Wkong, the soldiers also had black fur, but the only thing that could tell them apart were different shades. Wukong felt he was the only one with golden fur and didn't belong here. He shouldn't be here.
Wukong and the King stepped back. One of the generals said something there. The soldiers positioned themselves in appropriate combat and protective positions. Wukong winced. He had no idea why, but he knew it was the wrong position and the same poses? No sparring exercises?
"Wukong what do you think?" asked the king.
"I'm not sure I can tell. I don't have as much combat experience as your generals," Wukong said.
The generals just agreed.
And you have the most of all of us. As I can see, the lack of memories has also changed his personality, the king thought.
"Don't exaggerate. Talk." The king spoke.
Wukong took a breath and said "your defensive stances are hopeless. Besides, stance alone isn't enough. You don't do any group exercises? You should do sparring, or at least experienced people should show sparring to novices as lessons and..." Wukong fell silent when he saw the hateful looks of the generals.
"My king. Why do you take advice from this sky-dweller who seems to have lost his memories," said one of the generals. The king glared at him.
"Oh.. don't worry about him. He's just my advisors. Are you afraid I'll replace you with him? Haha. Then show me what you're capable of. Wukong you're right. Soldiers need to be shown sparring. That's why my generals will select the best soldiers, who will face you," said the king.
"What!?" Everyone said.
"King, I can't even fight," said Wukong.
"In the past, you must have known so that you wouldn't know what to say about my soldiers. Go ahead." The king moved away. Wukong and 3 warriors remained in the arena. The other soldiers watched the developments closely.
Wukong was horrified. This king is really strange. How is he going to beat them all?
Warriors surrounded him on all sides. Wukong adopted one tactic: dodge the blows. It didn't work out for him at first. The warriors attacked at once. They had fun with him. At first they just pushed and then they moved on to punches. Wukong had a split lip. One of the warriors attacked him in the stomach (where he had a scar). Wukong fell to his knees. The king watched this very carefully. However, he was losing hope that Wukong would remember how to fight. The warriors proudly looked at their handiwork. Wukong felt humiliated. He felt that he had been humiliated more than once, but by whom he did not remember, but what mattered was the present moment. The soldiers cheered. Wukong tasted defeat. He looked furiously at the generals. His eyes turned red. The generals were surprised. Wukong spat blood right in front of the warriors' legs.
The king smiled slyly. He knew he was about to see the gold-haired monkey's fury.
"Now learn, my generals," said the king.
This is the real Sun Wukong I know. thought the king.
Wukong got up. He clenched his hands into fists. The generals still considered him a weakling, Wukong started emitting golden energy. The soldiers fell silent. The generals were shocked. "What's that supposed to mean?!" One of the warriors spoke up, and after that Wukong closed his hand around his throat. His eyesight was terrifying. Wukong nearly strangled the warrior. Blood began to flow from his neck. The other two warriors attacked Wukong-or at least they tried. Before the warriors struck a blow. Wukong knocked the given fighter straight to the wall and blocked the attacks of the others. He brought them to a critical state. Wukong himself didn't even get tired.
Everyone was shocked. The king smiled. Sun Wukong is worth millions of troops.
Wukong was standing there now. He still felt angry. He felt he was losing control. And just this pain. A memory flashed into his mind. It hit him so suddenly. His whole head ached. However, the memory was too fast for Wukong to grasp what it meant at all.
Wukong fainted. It was surprising.
"King?" One of the generals spoke up.
It was even predictable. Sun Wukong has always been impulsive. Especially now that he doesn't even remember it. This may cause a problem. It would be good for Sun Wukong to control his power. But won't that bring back his memories? Um... The doctor needs to see him. Ah and others.
"Call the doctor," said the king emotionlessly. "I hope you have learned from today's exercise. You may leave now," he told the soldiers. The soldiers straightened up, nodded, and walked away.
After a while the doctor came. He had a bag with him. He was surprised. He didn't expect to see three warriors in a pool of blood, scattered around the room. And in the middle of the lying Wukong.
"What happened here?" said the shocked doctor.
"A new kind of training," the king said easily. The generals looked at the king in shock. The disgust doctor set to work. The king stood over Wukong and looked down at him. The king had a sly smile on his face.
"King, did you see what he did?" One of the generals said.
"Yes. Let it get to you. He is needed by our kingdom. Besides, our entire army would not be able to contain his fury. So be glad that only three of our men were wounded. He could have done so much more."
"King do you know him?"
The king nodded. The doctor now walked over to Wkong. He looked at it.
"What's with him?"
"Looks like he passed out"
"You take your soldiers to rest. Then come to the assembly room."
The generals nodded.
The king, the doctor, and Wukong disappeared into the shadows. They appeared in Wukong's room. They put Wukong on the bed.
"Check him out carefully and come to the assembly room too," said the king. The doctor nodded. The king disappeared into the shadows.
It should be added here that the assembly room. This was no ordinary room. It was one of the few rooms in the entire palace that was specially soundproofed so that no one (his son and other relatives) could overhear. It turned out to be very useful. Especially now.
The king waited patiently inside. The generals and the doctor went inside. The king looked at them and nodded. The alley of the place. "What's with him?"
"His condition is stable. I just sensed an excess of energy that overloaded his system."
The king thought for a while and then said, "Listen to me carefully. What I say will of course stay in this room. This golden-haired monkey is Sun Wukong, the Monkey King. I know that means nothing to you because our country is isolated from anything. I warn you, it's best not to annoy him or underestimate him. What you've seen today is nothing. This monkey has much more power. Power that could destroy the whole world. He lost his memories. So we can control him. And that will lead to an increase in the power of our kingdom."
"But king, are you sure he won't destroy the kingdom?" One of the generals said.
"I'm not sure. As long as he has no memories, our kingdom is safe."
"What if it come back?"
"Doctor, you will be responsible for his health. Of course."
The doctor nodded. He knew what the king meant. (Make sure the memories don't come back)
"He will also need training in controlling his powers. My son will take care of that."
"Are you sure?"
"Liuer has powers too. Others, of course, more weaker, but still has. The monkey better learn from him."
They nodded.
"Once he has his powers under control. He will start training a soldier. Don't worry, you will help him with this. You will look after him. We can't let his memories back. He will need to be supervised. If you see any signs. take him to the doctor right away."
They nodded. The generals now understood the gravity of the situation. Of course they will do as their king tells them.
