Wukong woke up a little shaky. He dreamed... He didn't even know what it was. The dream was as real as the pain. Wukong got up. He calmed down. He saw a tray of food on the table and clothes on the chair. Wukong got up and walked over to inspect the clothes. It was a white shirt with purple decorations, loose black pants and black shoes. Wukong didn't like this colors very much, but he had nothing better to wear.
He dressed up. After a while, someone entered his room. Wukong looked at her with a raised eyebrow. "Who are you?" Wukong asked.
"I am Ming and I have come to take you to the assembly room where the king is already waiting"
Wukong nodded slightly. "Let's go on then"
The maid left the room followed by Wukong. Now Wukong saw the inside of the palace. The corridor they were walking in was large. Portraits of people hung on the walls. They were signed, but Wukong didn't have time to look at them. This part of the corridor was in semi-darkness. Only a few lamps were lit. Wukong barely noticed the maid. His room was definitely brighter.
Ming stood in front of the black door. Wukong almost bumped into her.
"Everyone's waiting inside," she said and walked away. How is everyone? Was it just a king or what? Wukong thought. he sighed. He opened the door. There was much more light in the room than in the corridor, but there were still shadows. Wukong noticed that there were several people in the room. He closed the door behind him. Everyone stared at him. They watched his every move. Wukong felt uncomfortable. He didn't like it anymore and felt like he shouldn't be there.
The king was sitting at a large round table on which maps and some other papers were spread out. There were other people on the other side. Dressed dignified. There were no windows in the room. Each wall had cabinets with books or some scrolls. Wukong hesitantly approached the table. He stood against the king. The king watched him carefully. "You may sit down," said the king. Wukong sat down in a chair. Everyone was still staring at him. What surprised Wukong, each of them had black fur.
"This is Wukong. From now on, he will also advise me like you. Now we can start." said the king.
"At the moment the city is secured - as always. There is no problem with trade either..." Someone said. The king frowned.
"How's recruit training going?" asked the king.
"There are no problems at the moment," said another person.
"Wukong what do you think?" said the king. Wukong shuddered. "I..uhm.." they all looked at him again. He felt uncomfortable, but he wanted to stay here (for Liuer) so he had to make an effort. He took a breath and said "I don't know what the situation is. That's why I don't have an opinion. And from what I heard I can't draw any conclusions. I need to know the whole shape."
"And what would you like to know?" Someone else asked. Wukong thought for a moment and said "how big is your kingdom?"
They gave him a map. Wukong looked at it. "Where are we?"
"We are in the city of Night. This is the big black dot on the map," said the king.
"Very vast territory..." Wukong mumbled.
"We are in mountain chains. Beyond that, we are practically surrounded by mountains," said the king. Wukong was a little surprised that the king heard him.
"What army do you have?"
"Several ten thousand," said the person who was sitting next to the king.
"And are you patrolling the state border?"
Everyone looked at each other. "NO?" someone said.
"What is your trade based on? Do you have any allies?"
"Our country is located in the mountains, we don't need allies."
"Trade is mainly for handicrafts"
"Well, then your situation is not good or even bad," Wukong said firmly.
"What's that supposed to mean?" Someone said.
"That you can't just focus on the main city. Yes, this kingdom is in the mountains, but if the borders don't control , the state doesn't control you. How can you be so sure that the borders haven't been changed?"
"What do you mean?" someone said.
"About that if you don't control your borders, some other country might as well take over part of your territory by force without your knowledge. You wanted to know my opinion. In my opinion, the situation is bad, but it can be repaired. It's best to start by checking the borders. It's best to send some reconnaissance patrols..."
"Who are you to tell us what to do?" Someone said indignantly. Wukong fell silent. He felt resentment, but this someone was right. He shouldn't be here.
The king listened to all this with interest. But despite losing his memories, Sun Wukong knows how to run a country... It's very good. In fact, even before that, the king did not realize that the borders could change without his knowledge. "You're right," said the king. Everyone was surprised. Wukong felt proud that the king agreed with him.
"Do as he said"
"Yes, Majesty"
"You see Wukong, you are qualified to be my advisor"
"It's just logical thinking," said Wukong.
You're intelligent stone monkey , thouht the King.
"Yes, but somehow my generals didn't notice the problem"
Wukong felt proud of himself.
"I think that's enough for today. You may go," said the king. Everyone nodded.
"Wukong you stay"
The generals left.
"I told you you were good for this," began the king. He got up and walked over to Wukong.
"You shouldn't move around the palace alone. Especially when you're not used to our world yet."
Wukong was silent.
"My son Liuer liked you very much. I hope you reciprocated too."
Wukong blushed. The king smiled.
"Yeah, so I hope you get something out of it. Okay, that's all I had to say. I'll take you to him."
Wukong was a bit shocked when he heard that the king would like him to be with Liuer. Yes, he liked him very much and even it would be great if they were together, but he did not like the fact that the king favored him too much.
And after that Wukong and the king disappeared into the darkness.
They emerged from the shadows in some room where Liuer was. Wukong was slightly stunned that the king had used a shadow portal.
"Liuer. I guess you're done with your duties for today. You could show Wukong around the palace. So that he won't get lost," said the king and disappeared into the shadows. Wukong looked at Liuer, who smiled and walked over to him.
"No shadows," said Wukong. Liuer chuckled.
"I see my father liked you"
"I think too much... He's weird"
"I know," he said with a smile. "How did it go?"
"It wasn't even that bad. Only those generals are kind of bloated."
Liuer chuckled. "And it's very"
Wukong chuckled too.
"So, will you show me around this palace?"
"Of course." He said with a sly smile.
Liuer showed Wukong around the palace. The palace was huge. And most of the corridors were without light. Liuer moved perfectly in the darkness. Wukong could barely see anything. He even flipped over a few times. So Liuer took him by the hand. Wukong blushed. It may seem that it was just a simple friendly gesture, but each of them felt a magical spark.
The palace had many rooms. The palace was divided into two wings. In the right, the king and queen had their rooms. In the left wing, Liuer had his rooms and Wukong had his room. Of course, there was also a huge library, an armory, servants' rooms, a training room for soldiers and, of course, a garden.
It was unusual for Wukong that it was still night when they entered the palace. He didn't know why, but he missed the sun.
They stood on the bridge. Wukong stumbled into the water. He looked at his reflection as well as Liuer.
Liuer stared at Wukong with delighted eyes. Liuer had never seen the sun before, but he imagined Wukong as the sun. Golden fur, golden eyes, a radiant smile, and Liuer felt warm when he was close to Wukong. When Liuer liked something, he never gave it back. He knew well that once a treasure is received, it is not let go. And that was the case with Wukong. Liuer had never met a person like the golden-haired monkey before. The lack of memories did not bother the prince. He and Wukong could create new ones together.
Liuer moved closer to Wukong and placed his hand on Wukong's. Wukong looked at him. Liuer smiled.
Wukong had to admit that Liuer was charming. But they were just friends (and only for a few days) or maybe something more was developing between them? Liuer thought that only in books does love at first sight exist. And here right now.
"Beautiful night..." said Wukong.
"Theoretically, it's daytime," Liuer said with a smile.
"Oh.." Wukong was a bit embarrassed by his mistake.
"Calm down. You'll get used to it"
However, Wukong would prefer it to be a normal day with sunshine.
"Hey. I still have a lot to show you"
Wukong nodded. They continued to explore the palace.

They continued to explore the palace
