It's been a few weeks now. Honestly, Wukong still didn't know how to count the days in this shadow kingdom. Liuer once explained to him how time works in their kingdom. Well... Wukong still didn't get used to it. Because why? If he manages to leave this kingdom soon. Or at least he hoped so. But a few things held him down. It was as if his soul was bound in invisible chains over which the king, the doctor and... the prince had power. Sigh. Before we expand on this topic...
Wukong's health improved. At least his physical health was good. He was finally able to get out of bed without pain. Has he returned to his duties? Unfortunately yes. Despite the fact that the prince and queen insisted that he still rest. The king did not give up. Making all sorts of excuses that he needed him on his council, that the soldiers needed training, and that the doctor said Wukong was fine, which meant one thing: he could go back to work. But the queen and the prince said that if Wukong overworked herself, they would blame the king for it and then they would not let the 'poor girl' overwork herself ever again. Wukong told them that he was fine, that if the king wanted him to come back, he would come back. Maybe thanks to this he could find out what the king was talking about and what his true intentions were towards Wukong. Did Wukong find out anything? Not really. He noticed that the king was watching his every move, considering his every word, as if he was looking for some context or connection in this word. Plus there were some strange things he had to solve? The thing is that at each meeting the King asked him about some incomprehensible things without context, Wukong of course had to answer, and then the King returned to the affairs of the kingdom. Wukong tried to sort it out. Match. If he remembered, maybe it would be easier to understand what the king meant. Well, unfortunately he didn't remember and it got even worse...
And here we come to the first chain that keeps him from leaving.
If you don't remember, it's easier to manipulate you. Yes, exactly. The king had it in his grasp. By asking him random questions that were not random at all, but carefully selected and formulated.
The funniest thing is that Wukong was condemning himself to imprisonment by answering these questions.
Another chain. Created by the doctor's medicine. Well... the medicine worked slowly. He numbed some of the recovered memories. Causing more holes in Wukong's memory. Wukong was aware that the longer he took this medicine, the more he would lose his memories. This was too much. He was going to find something, he knew it, but what? Damn medicine. Although he was getting new flashes. But again, the problem is a working medicine. Hiding every new clue about his past. At least he knew he had to leave.
And here a new problem and another chain appear. The heaviest of all. Binding his heart. Slowly conveying feelings that contradict Wukong's. And we're talking about a prince here.
The prince's love blossomed. What could Wukong do? Of course he couldn't tell him enough, I don't want that. He couldn't say no to his best friend. It was a huge hassle. The result is that since Wukong couldn't resist, in a sense the prince's love was forced into him. It wasn't a great feeling for Wukong. Being forced to love. But Wukong's heart accepted it. His heart was nourished by this love. Not wanting to be left alone in the dark. Slowly, very slowly, becoming addicted to this sweet drug. This little reason held him most tightly.
The drug stopped memories, slowly dulling old memories, and love filled this void. A confusing mix of feelings. Which Wukong was forced to get used to. His mind definitely didn't benefit from it. Imagine a situation in which everything starts to fall into place and then it all disappears, causing a void that is filled with new things (feelings) that should not be there, leading the host to another crisis.

Wukong was now in the bathroom. He rested his hands on the edges of the sink. His head was tilted towards the sink, down. His eyes were closed in pain. A few tears rolled down his cheeks. He wanted to scream, but he knew that if he did so, the prince would hear him, and worse still, the king would hear him. And he really didn't want that. He gritted his teeth. He slowly lifted his head up. To look at his own reflection. It wasn't a dream or reality. Nothing in this real world was real. He wasn't real. His eyes turned red. He had an emotional hurricane inside him. He was ready to punch the mirror, but he hesitated when he heard "Wukong?"
Damn, Wukong thought. "Wait a minute," Wukong said.
He quickly washed his face with water and dried it with a towel. He left the bathroom. He saw Liuer in front of him, looking out the window that showed darkness.
"Liuer?" Wukong said.
Liuer turned around. He had that charming smile of his. Wukong walked over to him and closed the curtains. Liuer grabbed Wukong in a hug and kissed him on the cheek. Wukong squirmed for him to let go. He managed to free himself.
"Why did you close the curtains? It's a beautiful evening."
"Maybe for you.."
"Oh.. really? Every evening is beautiful in your presence."
Wukong blushed. Liuer chuckled.
"What do I owe your presence to?"
"Don't be like that..." Liuer hugged him from behind and put his head on his shoulder.
"You haven't taken your medicine yet today..." he whispered. Wukong shuddered. He managed to free himself from the grip.
"I brought it for you." Liuer held a black tablet in his hand. Wukong looked at it with slight disgust.
"Sunshine.. it's for your good" Liuer moved closer to him. "Can I get you some water?"
"No... you don't have to..." Wukong took the pill. He swallowed. Liuer kissed his temple.
"Are you feeling okay?"
Wukong nodded. Liuer smiled.
"There's going to be a banquet tomorrow."
"What? I don't know anything about it..."
"Father suddenly announced it. Some important person is coming to the palace."
"ah.."
"So... since tomorrow will be busy all day. Today we can go look at the lanterns."
"Yes!" Wukong's eyes widened with happiness. He hasn't seen lanterns for a long time (due to all the confusion with his loss of consciousness). The only light in this dark kingdom that gave him some happiness.

Hello😊,
There comes, slowly but it's going. Yeah...
What do you think about: "the King asked him about some incomprehensible things without context". What could it be? 🤔
This is a puzzle for you to solve, reader.
Another things Who do you think this important guest is?
You will see in future😈. But I would like to hear your opinion.
Yeah...Things in Wukong's head are fucked up. Do you think he could find happiness in this kingdom? Or rather with a prince?

Oh.. and I'll probably post new chapters every week on the weekends I will put the publication schedule on the board (on my account). But first I have to make it😅. I have other stories that I should update too... Sigh.. and I don't have much time right now (work, study, etc) 😭. But I will figure it out.
Ok that's all for today. Thanks for reading 😍. Bye.☺️
