Time flew. But the problem is that it is unknown how long Wukong was in the prince's room. It was always night outside the windows. He didn't go anywhere. In this one room all the time. Another problem Wukong didn't feel that he was trapped in the room. He felt like it was still one and the same day with breaks for sleep. Most of the time the prince was with him. They talked about everything. The prince brought him tea. The same tea. Wukong felt fine...his worries were, one might say, forgotten. Thanks to the calming tea. Although when Wukong woke up he felt fear, anger... he had a panic attack. Liuer then quickly calmed him down. He gave him tea. He spoke tender words. He massaged his head. Wukong then asked, "When are we going?" and looked at the prince with the same eyes of hope. The prince smiled warmly as he hugged him. "not long now, just a moment"
This is how Wukong was held down. In the unconscious... in forgetting about his problems. The prince had to go out sometimes. Usually when Wukong was sleeping. When Wukong was not sleeping, he would say that he was going to sort out some travel issues or get some tea. He told him to wait for him in the room. Somehow it worked. But just in case, the prince locked the door for all... safety. When Liuer came back, he brought him some small gifts... he noticed that Wukong liked to draw, so he brought him crayons, paints, etc. Also, it was a great time to teach Wukong to read and write. His handwriting was clumsy but readable. The prince brought him various books and they read together. Or at least Wukong tried.
Wukong's condition slowly improved. At least that's what Liuer said. Wukong was simply fed with the hope that he would get out of this kingdom and with his best friend, who would finally act normally like a friend. He waited...waited...for this one moment. He couldn't wait for Liuer to tell him where they were going. Wukong hoped that they would leave this kingdom. They will see the sun and spend the whole day in the nice sunshine.
Now Wukong was lying on the floor and drawing this scene on a piece of paper. Him, Liuer and the sun. Beautiful dream. Wukong's tail wagged excitedly. Wukong didn't even hear the door open. The prince entered the room. He was holding a tray with a teapot and cups of tea. Wukong continued to draw. Strongly focused on drawing. Liuer placed the tray on the table. Glancing at Wukong from the side. He smiled warmly. The prince was happy to see his Sunshine happy too. He poured a cup of tea. Then he put a white tablet into the cup, which quickly dissolved. He stirred. He put the spoon aside. He took the cup in his hand. "Wukong?
Wukong turned around. He sat down cross-legged. Liuer sat down next to him.
"I brought some tea," and handed him a cup. Throughout his time in the room, Wukong had gained more trust in the prince. He took the cup. He drank a little. The prince kissed him on the head. So it became their routine. If only Wukong knew how much time he spent in this room.
"What did you draw?" asked the prince. Wukong put the cup aside. And he proudly presented his work. Liuer took the paper and looked at it skeptically, then his expression changed to happy and he said "I love it!"
Wukong smiled. Liuer teleported them to the bed so they could lie down comfortably. Wukong held the drawing above him. He smiled. Liuer looked at his Sunshine, smiling too. He took his hand. Wukong looked at him.
"Have you arranged everything? Can we go now?" Wukong said.
They turned on their sides so that they were looking straight into each other's eyes. Liuer touched Wukong's cheek gently.
"There have been some minor complications..."
"complications?"
"The whole family is coming to the palace in a few days... my father wants me to be at the palace then..."
Wukong's expression turned somber. From what he still remembers... the family reunion was supposed to be in... a month... no... no... he hasn't been in this room for a month or is he? NO! The spell was broken. The drawing fell to the floor.
"But after this... I'll be able to take you out of here."
"do you expect me to go to this with you..." he said sadly, the brokenness evident in his voice.
"Hi.."
"You were supposed to take me out of here..."
"and I will... but not yet"
Wukong felt it was a lie.
"Can I pour you some more tea?"
Wukong hoped it was all in his head, that he wasn't trapped after all...
"I want to go to sleep.."
Liuer smiled warmly. "All right"
Wukong closed his eyes. Hoping that when he wakes up, Liuer will say that he's taking him away from here. And this whole family reunion thing is a joke.
He opened his eyes. The prince was gone. He looked around the room. He was alone. Did the prince come to him at all today? Did he imagine this conversation? He stood up. There was a drawing of him on the floor. He picked it up. The prince must have been there today because he showed him a drawing... or maybe it was just a hallucination? Never mind. The spell was broken. And he's not going to stay in this room anymore. He still held the drawing in his hand. He walked to the door. He turned the handle... locked... again... and again... No! Wukong fearfully moved away from the door... he clutched the drawing. He's been locked up.... He needs air... he can't breathe... he's locked up.
He fell to his knees. Holding a drawing to his chest. Tears were flowing down his cheeks...
Why does he have to be locked up all the time... why?!
after a while he fell asleep, curled up on the floor, holding the drawing tightly. Liuer is back. He didn't want to leave him alone, but now he has so many things on his mind. Everything must be perfect for his Sunshine. He noticed that Wukong was sleeping on the floor. The prince picked up Wukong and placed him back on the bed.
