Everything hurt. He was moaning. He felt terrible. Where the hell is he? He felt like screaming. He's lying on something soft. It's probably the bed. But then where is he? Oh no. Had those guards really caught him?! This thought made him stand up suddenly. Unfortunately for him, he rolled and fell to the floor. You could say he panicked. He couldn't catch his breath. He felt dizzy. He got up. It was even worse. And bile rose in his throat. He could puke at any moment. He swallowed in disgust. He didn't have time for something like that. He left the room.
Where the hell was he? It was definitely not a palace. It was too bright, the corridors were decorated with flowers, and there were beautiful gardens outside the windows. Good is not in the palace, that's for sure. He stopped and watched. He listened. Was he in some kind of distorting mirror? It's definitely the opposite of that dark castle. He grabbed his stomach. It was a strange feeling. Wherever he is, he won't stay here.
He kept walking. He entered a living room. And there was a woman sitting there drinking tea, probably.
Wukong stared at the woman for a moment. The woman smiled warmly at him. "I prepared some tea. It will help with the stomach ache." her voice was very gentle.
"No. I don't drink tea." Wukong replied.
"Okay, at least you should drink it. So why don't you sit with me?"
Wukong was about to say no, but she interrupted him. "Don't worry. Your friends are fine. You understand, their journey must continue. For safety reasons, they entrusted me to take care of you."
"I don't need care."
The woman raised an eyebrow. She sighed. "Your body was in a terrible condition. I recommend rest. In your condition, you cannot overexert yourself."
"In my condition?"
"You're pregnant."
"What?" His heart sped up. He felt stuffy and hot. He grabbed the chair. He sat down. One sec. One moment. And again his whole world collapsed. What will do now? What should he do?! There's nowhere to go. His husband hates him. There is no one.
"It's the third week."
"Please?"
"You're in your third week. You've been sleeping for a week." she took a drink. Wukong grabbed his head.
"What should I do now?" Wukong whispered. He closed his eyes. He tried to calm down. Tears rolled down his cheek. The woman sat down next to him.
"I am Guanyin."
"goddess of mercy?"
she nodded, poured a cup of tea and gave it to Wukong. "Drink it. It will help you calm down."
Wukong wiped his tears. He took the cup and drank some.
"Better?"
Wukong nodded.
"Your friends told me a little about you."
"Oh..."
"Yes, but I'd rather meet you in person."
Wukong didn't answer. He didn't want to talk about himself. He was devastated that his future was ruined anyway. It's not about himself. Just about the baby. Under normal circumstances (if he was still with Liuer) he would be happy, but now? He is not afraid that the child will ruin him. He is just afraid for the child, that Wukong will ruin his offspring's life. How will he take care of him? Liuer is gone, his husband probably hates him and doesn't want to see him. His heart hurts from these thoughts. But that's the truth (or at least Wukong thinks so).
"Hmm?"
"I don't know what to do..."
"Honey, don't worry. The pilgrims told me someone is after you..."
"Yes... my husband or rather his father."
"But why?"
"Because... (sigh) I ran away from my own wedding."
the goddess looked at him in surprise, then smiled reassuringly.
"Would you like to tell?"
Wukong sighed. "I don't know how I got there or something, but I hit my head hard on the courtyard of their castle. Their kingdom was a strange kingdom, where the only light was the moonlight. The fall caused me to lose my memories. You could say that the prince of this kingdom took care of me , Liuer, and my husband. Everything was normal enough? Although I never felt very safe there. I always had the feeling that something was wrong, that I should run away, but I believed my partner in his lies. Every time I told him that something was wrong, that we should run away from there together, he always found some excuse. Even though I felt safe with him, he kept me safe, he gave me love that turned out to be a lie... they all lied to me. His father... actually wanted to take revenge on me."
"Why?"
"Because I broke his heart. He hated me and made all this up." A tear rolled down Wukong's cheek.
"Do you really think so?"
"The worst thing is that I don't remember it, but I know that I did a lot of terrible things that I regret now."
"We cannot undo the past, but we can influence the present. The present moment is the most important."
"And what should I do? I have nowhere to go, I don't remember my old life and I don't even want to..."
"Was it that bad?"
Wukong nodded. "I probably pissed off a lot of people. Like my father-in-law."
"And did your husband Liuer know about it?"
"I guess so. I guess so."
"You're not sure. You should talk to him about it."
"I don't want to. He lied to me all this time, told me I was sick in the head, everyone in that kingdom thought I was crazy."
"That doesn't sound good at all."
"That's why I don't want to see him, I don't want to see him, it... hurts too much. This love hurts too much."
"I understand. But I think talking would help you and at least help you ease the pain he caused you."
Wukong sighed. "Maybe, but it doesn't matter now... I'm left alone."
"Not alone, you're going to have a baby." she smiled reassuringly. Wukong's mood did not improve.
"The pilgrims mentioned that you came from a mountain of flowers and fruits."
Wukong looked at her questioningly. "Yes? But... I'm not sure about that either."
"Hmm?"
"As I said, I lost my memories, and everything I know about my previous life I found out by accident... and I regret it."
"Why?"
"Because it hurts too much... I made some bad decisions, I fell in love with the wrong person. And the pain is breaking my heart... You are a goddess... could you... take this pain away from me?" tears rolled down Wukong's cheeks. Guanyin patted his head.
"Unfortunately I can't help with that, but I can restore your memories."

Somewhere in the land of darkness...
"I will find you... No matter how long it takes. We will be together again..."
In his hands he held a purple lantern that was glowing. The prince's eyes were also shining.
"My Sunshine."
