Wukong woke up with a terrible headache. He barely opened his eyes. He yawned. He definitely didn't feel like getting up today. He was too comfortable. His head rested on the prince's chest. It took a moment for Wukong to realize this, and then another to realize that he wasn't wearing any clothes. Then he remembered almost all of last night. His eyes widened. He felt... he can't even define what he feels. His mind was confused.
The prince yawned and looked with sleepy eyes at his beautiful beloved. He smiled. He hugged him tightly. Wukong looked at Liuer.
The prince began to kiss Wukong. Wukong chuckled.
Liuer placed his hand on Wukong's cheek.
"I love you," said the prince.
"I love you too."
"And in just a few hours, you and me, together forever."
They kissed.
They lay there for a while, hugging each other.
.
"Come on, before my mother gets here."
"I don't want to..." Wukong muttered. Liuer smiled.
"I know, I don't feel like getting up either, but you know..." he moved closer to Wukong's ear, "I'll make it up to you, even tonight, until you see the stars."
Wukong looked at Liuer with a smile. "And I thought I saw them yesterday."
The prince chuckled. "The best is yet to come, Sunshine."
.
.
.
Liuer escorted Wukong to the queen. The Queen looked at them sideways.
"You know you shouldn't look at the bride? It will bring bad luck." said the queen.
"I don't believe in such things, mother."
The Queen sighed. "Go ahead. I'll take care of her."
"I'll see you in a few hours, my Sunshine." said the prince passionately and disappeared into the shadows. Wukong smiled. Today, nothing bad can happen. It's too beautiful a day today. And Wukong's heart is filled with joy. Nothing will spoil this day for him, because this day belongs to him and the prince. They will be together, forever. He even put on a wedding dress without discouragement.
Ting was in a slightly worse condition, she had a bigger hangover than Wukong, but she was also happy for the couple's happiness.
Final touches.
Ready.
Nothing would spoil Wukong's day, not even the presence of the king, who was also in the room. He watched Wukong closely. Did this bother Wukong? No, maybe? In any case, even the king won't spoil his mood.
"Are you sure you don't want me to walk you down the aisle?" said the king.
"Thank you, but NO." Wukong replied.
"Honey, remember, you don't have to worry, Liuer will take good care of you." said the queen.
It sounded scarier than it should have been.
"The guests are probably already waiting. We will be heading to the garden." said the king and took the queen by the hand. They left the room.
Wukong assured himself that everything would be fine. (No), that he would be happy, (No), that Liuer loved him, that they would be together forever, and that there was nothing to be afraid of. (No). (Not true!)
"Wukong? Are you okay?" Ting asked worriedly.
Wukong shook himself. "Yes.."
"Wukong, you can tell me. I was nervous too on my wedding day. I was all stressed out."
"And how did you know you would be happy?"
"I didn't know what awaited me, whether everything would be okay. It's impossible to predict."
"Oh..."
"But I know my brother well enough to know two things. First, you don't mess with him, and second, I see how much he loves you and will give you everything you want." Ting said with a smile.
.
.
.
This long-awaited moment. It's amazing that so many guests could fit in the garden. And that's not the end.
The garden was lit with colorful lanterns. There was enough light to see normally, which most guests weren't too keen on.
The altar was decorated with red and white flowers. Liuer was already standing ready. He was dressed in a suit with gold decorations. He was tense, stressed. He knew everything would go according to plan. Wukong should appear soon. But the longer he waited for his bride, the more fear he felt. A tiny bit of fear, telling him that Wukong would run away from him. But why? Don't be afraid, Wukong will be with him forever. True? So why does he feel like Wukong will leave him? What if Wukong already found out the truth? But what if he remembers? And she will run away from him. The prince won't survive this. He already felt like he was breaking down. This unexplainable fear began to creep secretly into his mind.
He heard music. He woke up from his thoughts. He looked ahead. His worries fell away. He saw Wukong and his love grew just by looking at him. He smiled. He held his hand out for Wukong to take.
.
.
Wukong felt panic rising with each step. Does he want to do this? Yes. (NO). He's ready. (NO). He loves him. Yes. He wants to be with him. Yes. Does not know. So what's wrong?
He looked at Liuer, who smiled at him. Wukong took a more confident step forward. But he was bothered by the discomfort of all those people staring at him.
Liuer extended his hand to him. Wukong grabbed it. He gave Ting a bouquet of blood-red flowers.
.
.
Some melancholy, or maybe sentiment, crept into the king's mind (during the ceremony). He looked at the young couple and wondered what went wrong? He could have been there, after all. Old wounds reopened. Too painful an experience. What went wrong?
.
.
The bride and groom held hands. The pastor wrapped a white and gold ribbon around their hands.
The moonlight fell perfectly on the bride and groom.
"What has once been joined together may last forever." said the pastor as he untied the ribbon.
Liuer took the wedding ring with the moon symbol and put it on Wukong's finger. Wukong took the ring with the sun symbol and put it on Liuer's finger.
They kissed.
The crowd started applauding.
And golden lanterns flew upwards.
.
.
After the wedding ceremony, everyone gathered in one of the largest rooms in the palace. The service was on full alert.
The orchestra played calm music.
Everyone took their seats. What caused a stir was that the royal family did not sit next to each other.
Guests came to the table of the bride and groom, congratulating them and wishing them all the best, while giving gifts.
And there were plenty of these gifts. At the end of the room there was a tower full of gifts.
Of course, there were also toasts.
.
.
.
Liuer felt relieved after the wedding ceremony was over. He was now sure that Wukong wouldn't leave him. They are together. They are connected.
He would rather drag Wukong to their new bedroom right away. Such a small wedding gift. Due to the fact that they cannot leave the palace, Liuer bargained for a specially separated part of the palace for them, exclusively for him and his beloved.
Unfortunately, the king still rules. Good word "still". If by any chance something happened to him. For example, a disease. After all, he's getting old. And the king wants to hand over the throne to him anyway, so why not speed it up? Then Liuer would have the power and would be able to fully make Wukong happy, without the fear that his not-father would arrange some intrigue. Oh... the prince remembers well the ultimatum given to him. He hates the thought of his Sunshine being trapped.
If looks could kill, the king would be dead right now.
"Liuer?" Wukong said.
"Hmm?" Liuer looked at his beloved.
"Did something happen?"
"What? No. Everything's fine."
"Really? Because you looked like you wanted to kill your own father." he said jokingly.
Liuer kissed Wukong on the head.
"Let's dance. We have to start the party with our dance."
Wukong sighed and nodded.
Liuer stood up. He offered Wukong his hand.
"Can I ask you to dance?" said the prince gallantly. Wukong rolled his eyes and took his hand.
The orchestra began to play more lively. All the guests fell silent. They started observing the young couple.
Wukong tensed. There were too many eyes on them.
"Wukong, just you and me. Don't focus on them, just me." whispered the prince.
Wukong relaxed. Liuer led, dominated.
The music stopped. It was supposed to mean the end of the dance, but for the bride and groom it was not. They were still dancing. They just stared at each other. Only them, no one else. The music came back, but that didn't matter either. Only them. Their own world. Filled with love.
.
Finally they bowed, which marked the end of the dance.
There was applause.
The bride and groom sat back down at their table.
"Wow... I've never seen a couple more in love." commented Po, the groom's best man.
Liuer just smiled and drank some wine.
"Wukong, you're lucky that Liuer chose you." Rin said.
Wukong smiled too.
"Hey, you're lucky to have me too." Po said, offended. Rin looked at him.
"If it were, you would have asked me to dance." Rin complained.
Everyone at the table chuckled. Po sighed. "May I invite you to dance, oh lady of my life?"
"That's better." Rin replied and took Po's hand.
"Ah, these women, they're going to finish me off." Po said melodramatically. Liuer chuckled.
Po and Rin went dancing.
"Ting, how's your head?" Liuer said.
Ting giggled and her partner looked at her suspiciously.
"Oh.. Wukong, let me introduce you to my husband, this is Zu." Ting said.
"Nice to meet you." Wukong said.
"I also." Zu said with a smile. "So what happened yesterday?" he turned to Ting, who began to giggle nervously.
"Nothing like that. Girls' night and all that." Ting said.
"Yeah..."
"Seriously, right Wukong, we had a little to drink, no big deal."
Wukong nodded.
Liuer started giggling.
"Let's say I believe you." Zu said.
Ting breathed a sigh of relief. Zu asked her to dance.
Wukong rested his head on the prince's shoulder.
"I have a gift for you." Liuer said.
"Yes? And what is it?"
"And you won't find out until tonight." he smiled.
Wukong looked at him with confusion. "But it's already night."
Liuer laughed in response.
"Will you at least tell me what it is?"
"So impatient. Sunshine, you wait and see."
"Then why did you tell me that?"
"To pique your curiosity." he said with a smile.
"Well, I can't wait. Moonshine."
They kissed.
The king and queen approached the table.
"You look so beautiful together." said the queen.
"My mother and I would like to dance with you." said the king.
"There is no need." Liuer said. Wukong looked at him questioningly.
"But Liuer is tradition." said the queen.
"We can break with tradition."
"Liuer, it's just a dance, I will dance with your father and you with your mother." Wukong spoke up. Liuer looked at him with concern. Of course the prince didn't want to give Wukong to his father, but if that's what it has to be, and apparently his Sunshine wants to get over dancing with his parents as soon as possible, then so be it.
The prince sighed. They stood up. The king took Wukong's hand. And the prince took the queen.
Everyone left the dance floor, making space for the royal couples.
The music changed to a more melancholic, sentimental one.
They started dancing.
"I never thought I'd see you in a wedding dress." said the king.
"Well..." Wukong didn't know how to react to that.
"You seem tense my dear, you have nothing to worry about, we are already family."
"Yeah..."
"I would like to talk to you privately, if you don't mind."
"It depends."
"I understand you don't trust me, but like I said, we're family."
"Yes, a family that is special."
The king chuckled.
"You always had a good sense of humor."
."Excuse me?"
"The dance is over, your husband is waiting impatiently for you at the table."
They stopped dancing. They bowed. Wukong returned to his seat. Liuer looked dissatisfied.
"What were you talking about?"
"You have not heard?"
"Sunshine, it's loud enough in here that I can't hear your secret conversation."
"Secret? What do you mean?"
Liuer did not respond.
"Moonshine, can we not fight about this? Please, it's our day."
Wukong took the prince's hand.
"It's okay. Sorry."
"Someone's jealous." Po interjected.
Well, everyone went back to the table and saw their little exchange.
"Of course, it's my most prized possession." Liuer said and pulled Wukong towards him so that he sat on his lap. Liuer rested his chin on Wukong's shoulder. The golden-haired monkey giggled.
"Those nicknames of yours are so cute." Ting commented.
"Sun and moon, maybe one day there will be a story about you." Po mused.
"Oh yes, about the most in love couple in the world." Zu said. Everyone started giggling.
.
.
Later, the bride and groom visited the guests' tables. Some asked to dance with the bride, but Liuer refused.
The party was in full swing. Everyone was dancing, drinking, eating, and some were gossiping about the royal family...
"I heard she fell from the sky."
"The prince is very jealous of her, haven't you seen how he looked at her when she danced with the king."
"Do you think the king has a mistress in her?"
"What are you saying?!"
"If not, if yes. There are rumors that the king knows her."
"Oh look, our new princess is coming onto the terrace alone."
"Maybe she wants to get some fresh air? I heard that our princess doesn't like big shows."
"Yeah? And there are rumors that she's sick."
"How so?!"
"How do you know that?"
"What, you haven't heard anything? Our princess has health problems, but it's a big royal secret. I know because there were new doctors in the palace recently."
"Do you know what it is?"
"No. Everyone is silent."
"Oh..poor thing."
"The prince must love her very much."
"Maybe."
"Oo... look who's coming onto the terrace now. The king."
"So what? I didn't tell you? It must be an affair."
"But what about the prince?"
"She probably just wanted to join the royal family, and since the prince was probably desperate, he married her."
"How so?"
"But you didn't hear that the prince rejected all the proposals. No maiden in the kingdom wanted him."
"I would love to marry him."
"I don't think so, apparently he's the worst of all his siblings."
"And I say he's cruel and doesn't forgive anyone until he gets his revenge."
"I already feel sorry for his wife."
"If it's true that she and the king..."
"Let the will of heaven be done."
.
.
.
Wukong felt hot. Very hot. Stuffy. Everyone wanted to talk to him. There were so many people. Liuer still went somewhere. He didn't know where. He was left alone. He was surrounded by a crowd of people he didn't know. And the dress doesn't make it easy for him to breathe. He had to get out, at least for a moment. He looked around. He saw an open door leading to the terrace. He quickly walked towards the terrace.
Finally, air. He breathed a sigh of relief. It was quite chilly. But he had to calm down. He looked at the sky. Dark, full of stars, shining like diamonds. This silence calmed him down, he now understood why Liuer appreciated silence so much, it had a calming effect.
Even the party is a success. Everything is as it should be. He must ask Liuer when they are leaving this palace.
The house the prince built for him was wonderful. They will live in it. Liuer could give up his crown for him, they would live happily, away from this palace. From the royal family. Or maybe he could ask Liuer to leave this kingdom and start traveling. They would create their own stories that they would later tell their children. They would create their own family together. He wonders what their children would look like. More like himself or as Liuer? Oh.. it would be cute to see Liuer's mini ears.
Wukong daydreamed. Their future together looked bright. Wukong smiled. He wanted to talk to Liuer about it. He's sure prince'll be as happy as he is.
Wukong turned and froze. The king stood before him. He didn't expect this.
"Beautiful night, isn't it?" said the king.
"Yeah... I wish it was daytime though." Wukong said. His words alone shocked him. He didn't want to say it, so why did he do it? Next time he has to bite his tongue.
The king just smiled.
"Why are you here, your highness?" Wukong said.
"Same as you. Get some fresh air. But also talk to you."
"I don't think this is the right time."
"Why? We are alone."
"We are alone now. Forgive me, your highness, but I must return to my husband."
"I think he'll be fine without you for a while."
"What do you want to talk about?"
The king raised an eyebrow.
"I don't play any games like you." said Wukong, why did he say that again?!
The king just smiled wider.
"You surprise me. Anyway, I just wanted to congratulate you. And apologize for my behavior towards you earlier."
"Your Majesty, there's no point in putting me through."
"Don't interrupt me. Please. Despite the passage of time, I haven't treated you well. Know that I have sentimental feelings for you. Some couples are not destined to be happy... but I hope that you and my... son will live happily here."
Wow. It fell on Wukong like a bucket of cold water. He wasn't ready for such a confession? What was that supposed to be?! Was it nice? But also overwhelming? Was he talking about this couple regarding his relationship with the Queen? What is he supposed to answer?
He opened his mouth but closed it because he didn't know what to say.
"You don't have to answer anything. I wanted you to know that."
Another shock and disbelief.
And the worst thing of all is that Liuer suddenly appeared in front of them, his shock turned to anger.
"Wukong? What are you doing here?" said the irritated prince. The king turned to him.
Wukong has to think of something, he realizes what it looks like. And it looks bad.
"I felt bad, I needed some fresh air and you were gone and..."
Liuer stepped closer to him. He put his arm around Wukong. Lieur glared at the king. The prince and his wife went inside.
"Wukong, are you okay? Do you have a fever?"
"I guess it's okay now."
"Wukong, you should have told me right away."
"But I didn't know where you were, and all these people... and then the king came."
"What did he want from you?"
"I... I don't know. He started apologizing to me and wishing me luck. Liuer, I don't know what he meant, he really didn't care..."
"Sunshine, I believe you. Don't worry, my father won't bother you again."
Liuer kissed Wukong on the head.
"Wukong, are you sure everything is fine, if you don't feel well, maybe we can rest?"
"No, I'm fine, I just needed some fresh air."
"Okay, but if you feel bad or fed up, tell me immediately." they looked into each other's eyes. Wukong nodded.
"Liuer, I want to talk to you about something..."
Liuer said at the same time with him. "I think it's time for your present," he said with a smile. Wukong fell silent, also smiled and nodded.
.
.
They walked through corridors that Wukong didn't know. There were no pictures hanging on the walls. It was quiet. Which made Wukong nervous. He didn't know what was waiting for him. Liuer was smiling the whole way. They passed through a door. And it was a normal bedroom.
The nicely decorated interior was spacious, larger than their bedroom. Large bed. There were also large wardrobes for clothes. Desk. Table. Bedside tables on both sides of the bed. Bookshelf.
Additionally, it had a large balcony.
Wukong looked around.
"Liuer, who owns this room?"
Liuer took his hands. He looked at him with a smile.
"Sunshine, this is our new room."
"Our?"
"We are in a separate part of the palace that now belongs to us."
"But.."
"Sh..sh.. arranged everything, from now on we will live here."
"What?"
"You and me... and soon I will take the throne, I will change everything, you'll see. We will live happily, together."
Liuer hugged Wukong.
Wukong was shocked. A day full of surprises. This wasn't how he imagined it.
"I love you." whispered the prince.
"I love you too." Wukong replied. Their tails intertwined.
"What did you want to talk about?"
"I just wanted to tell you that... I'm happy." said Wukong. Liuer smiled.
"Oh..Sunshine."
"We should go back to the guests." said Wukong. He didn't want to pursue this. He was disappointed.
"Okay, I'll show you the rest later."
.
.
When they returned to the hall. The party was in full swing. Everyone had fun. The orchestra played lively.
Liuer had to do something else? He told Wukong, but he was having his existential crisis. He sat down at the table.
Now he felt a sense of disappointment. That feeling when you are 100% sure what gift you will get and then suddenly the action takes a turn and you don't get what you asked for. And you have to pretend to everyone that you like it, but tears are gathering in your eyes and threatening to fall.
This is how Wukong feels. He didn't expect this. He realizes the bitter truth that there is no hope.
"Hey? Wukong? Are you okay?" Po asked. Wukong shook himself, with a forced smile he said, "Yes, I'm fine, just a little tired."
This didn't convince him at all, and he didn't convince anyone at the table. And now he noticed that everyone was there, except Liuer. And tears began to sting his eyes. But no, he will endure, he will hold back. It's not like he's a child. He'll get over it soon.
"Wukong, are you sure? You don't look well." Ting commented. Of course he is not ok.
"I'm just a little tired, nothing else."
"Why don't you look at the gifts. Although we'll help you, I wonder what you got." Rin said. Wukong sighed.
"All right."
Maybe it'll make him feel better.
Everyone got up and went to look at the gifts.
And where to start? What's worse, everyone started staring, which bothered Wukong even more.
"You know what, it doesn't feel good when everyone is looking at us."
"Wukong, you're the new princess, it's normal for people to stare at you." Zu said.
Liuer stood behind Wukong.
"I see you're interested in gifts." Liuer said with a smile. Hugging Wukong. And Wukong fought the urge to push him away.
"Well, someone has to help you with this." Po said with a smile.
"So, Sunshine, which one would you like to open first?" Liuer asked.
None. "Do we have to do this in front of everyone? With so many onlookers?"
"No. If you want, I can move it all to a more secluded place."
"Yes please."
Liuer kissed Wukong on the head. The gifts disappeared into the shadows and they disappeared with them.
.
.
They found themselves in a guest room. There were Po, Rin, Ting, Zu, Liuer and Wukong. They unwrapped gifts and showed each other.
"You got a lot of diamonds." Zu commented as he pulled out a box of diamonds, which he set aside to the side where the diamonds were also located.
Wukong's mind was somewhere else.
One of the servants entered the room and informed Liuer about something. Liuer said to the servant, "I'll take care of it." The servant nodded and left.
"What's going on?" Ting asked.
Liuer sighed. "Ling and alcohol are a very bad combination."
"Can't someone else take care of this? Like the king?" Zu said.
"Apparently not. I'll be right back." Liuer said and disappeared into the shadows.
Wukong snapped out of his thoughts again. He's already over it. It's okay now. He reached for the first present he could find, wrapped in gold paper with a red ribbon.
The rest talked about Ling and his typical behavior. Wukong unwrapped the gift. It was a book with a black cover and there was also a note attached: here is your truth.
Weird. He leafed through it. He started reading. He concluded that it was a diary of some king, and then it came to him. The longer he read, the more this information began to scare him. The monkey king. A mountain of flowers and fruits. His house. His brothers. Sun Wukong. Fighting against the heavens. Destruction. Betrayal. Unrequited love.
Wukong's eyes widened in horror. His hands began to shake. His whole body was tense. He felt a twinge of pain. He started breathing harder. This... this... he... this... terrified him. True. If it was true... it means that... it's all a fraud, he's locked up, he was cheated. Now he understands, this is the king's behavior, his apology. Everything is starting to come together. Tears began to flow down his cheeks. He must... he must show it to Liuer, he will understand and they will leave this place together, return to his country, to the mountain of flowers and fruits.
"Wukong?!"
"Wukong?! What's going on?!"
Nothing was reaching him. He has to find Liuer and they get out of there. He wiped away his tears.
.
They didn't know what happened. Why is Wukong crying, so they reached out to Liuer for help.
"Wukong? What happened?" Liuer said in a gentle voice. Wukong composed himself.
"Liuer?"
"Leave us alone." he said seriously to the rest. Po, Rin, Zu and Ting disappeared into the shadows.
"Yes, Sunshine, will you tell me what happened?"
"Liuer, I understand everything now... Mac, I mean the king, he... that's all..."
"Wukong, calm down, I don't understand."
Wukong took the book and showed it to the prince, who tried to keep a straight face.
"In this book... there is everything. Me and even you. I already know who I am, Liuer, I know where I come from, who I was..."
"Sunshine, it's just a book..."
"No. Liuer. Look. Here's my name and surname, you see, and a description of who I was." he showed him the page where it was written.
Liuer looked at him with worried eyes.
"And here it is written about you, look..."
Liuer took his hand.
Wukong looked at Liuer with determination. "Lieur, we have to get out of here... Liuer?"
"Sunshine."
"You believe me, right?"
"Wukong..."
Wukong quickly stood up and hugged the book to himself and quickly moved away from the prince. "You think I'm crazy! Don't you! You all think so!"
"Wukong, you need to calm down.."
Lieur slowly approached him.
"Liuer... we have to get out of here..."
Liuer placed his hand on Wukong's shoulders.
"Wukong, inhale and exhale, Sunshine, give me this book, I will read it, okay?"
Wukong looked straight into the prince's eyes. He will read it and believe him and they will run away.
He nodded.
The prince took the book.
"Now let's go to the room, okay?"
"What for?"
"For you to rest."
"But, Liuer, I feel fine, I'm not sick..."
Liuer hugged him. "I know, Sunshine, but you'll wait there for me, I'll read the book, and we'll decide together what to do next, okay?"
Wukong nodded.
Liuer put the book into the shadow portal. He took Wukong's hand.
They went to their new bedroom.
"Lie down." Liuer said. Wukong looked at him questioningly. Liuer led him to the bed. Wukong didn't know what he meant. He did as the prince said.
He covered him with a blanket.
He pulled a book out of the shadows, but it wasn't the same book, but Wukong didn't get it.
Liuer lay down next to Wukong.
"Sunshine... there's nothing like that written here, look."
"What?!"
Wukong took the book and began reading furiously. It wasn't that book, it definitely wasn't that book. "Liuer, this is not that book!"
"Wukong, please... you've got something wrong."
"There's nothing wrong with me. I know what I read, Liuer..."
The prince placed his hand on Wukong's forehead.
"Sunshine, you have a fever..."
"I know what I read! Liuer!"
Tears streamed down Wukong's cheeks. Liuer wiped Wukong's tears and smiled softly.
"You've got something wrong, Sunshine..."
"Moon... I'm not sick, please... you have to believe me..."
"Sh... Sunshine, everything will be fine. Let's go to sleep first."
"What? No. Liuer!"
"Shhh..."
"don't treat me like a little child!"
Liuer hugged him. Wukong tried to break free from this grip.
"Sunshine, now I am asking for your trust, I am your husband."
"And I am your wife!"
"It's my job to take care of you!"
There was silence, which was broken by Liuer. "I'm sorry, Sunshine, I don't want to argue with you."
"..."
"Hey look at me."
Wukong looked at him.
"I love you, you know? I want to give you the best."
Liuer kissed him on the cheek. "Trust me now. I'll take care of everything. Inhale and exhale."
.
They stayed like that for a while, then Wukong stopped resisting and fell asleep.
The prince closed the balcony. He left a shadow clone behind for safety. He closed the door behind him.
Who gave this damn book?! And how did he find it?!
Only one person hates him enough to make his life miserable. Lai.
.
.
The prince returned to the party. He quickly walked to the table where Lai was sitting and stood behind him. Everyone looked at them.
"Brother, we need to talk." Liuer said dominantly. Lai looked behind him. He drank some wine.
"About what? I have nothing to talk to you about."
"Get up and don't make a scene."
Lai rolled his eyes. "Or maybe I don't want to? What will you do to me?"
"Don't piss me off now. I'm already pissed off enough."
"Oh? Why did your new wife piss you off? So take it out on her, not me."
Liuer grabbed him by the collar and slammed his head against the table. The music stopped.
They disappeared into the shadows. They emerged only in a dark corridor. Liuer pinned Lai against the wall. Lai groaned. He stank of alcohol. He was definitely drunk.
"You better not play with me Lai!"
"What did I do to you?!"
"How did you find that fucking book?!"
"What book?! What the fuck are you talking about again?!"
Liuer slammed Lai's head against the wall. "Don't lie! You're the only one who wants to ruin my life!"
"Just because I don't approve of your father's decision and yours doesn't mean I want to ruin your life!"
"Yeah? You poisoned my wife! And now you dare to mess with her head!"
"Okay... okay... the first one was terrible, I admit, but the second one... it's not my fault that you have a freaky wife!"
"Don't call her that! Tell me how you found that book!!"
"What are you talking about with this book?!"
"The one you gave us as a gift."
"I didn't give you any book! Are you as fucked up as your wife?"
Liuer had to process this. So who gave them this book?!
He grabbed Lai by the neck. Lai began to choke.
"Now listen, if I find out that you lied to me after all. And again, I will destroy everything you love. Do we understand each other?"
Lai was at his breaking point.
"I'll take that as a yes."
.
.
Lai and Liuer returned to the party.
"Lai?! What happened to you?!" his wife asked.
"I'm fine... Let's go home."
"What? Lai? What did he do to you?"
"Nothing. We talked, please, honey..." Lai said and kissed his wife on the head. "I did a stupid thing for which I will pay dearly."
His wife nodded. They left.
Liuer looked at Lai's wife. In a few hours the poison will take effect. There was no need to poison my wife. Now you will regret it, he thought.
.
.
"Liuer? What are you doing?" asked the queen. Liuer did not respond.
"Liuer? What did Lai do?" asked the king.
"Better ask what he didn't do." Liuer said.
"Where is Wukong?" asked the queen.
"She's resting, she felt bad. Father, we need to talk."
They moved aside a bit.
"What do you want to talk about?"
"Wukong, he read your diary."
"Oh... you gave it to her yourself?"
"Of course not. I thought it was Lai, but I was wrong."
"What about Wukong?"
"I managed to calm her down."
.
.
Wukong woke up. There was no one in the room.
Wukong had to figure out what and how. He didn't understand it. Why didn't Liuer believe him?
He doesn't like it, definitely not. He should get out of here. What is he supposed to do?
Liuer doesn't believe him. How can he prove he's right? He stood up. He staggered on his feet.
The door to the room suddenly opened. Wukong took a step back.
Liuer and the doctor entered the room. This didn't portend anything good at all.
"Honey. The doctor just came to check you out." Liuer said gently. "Please lie down."
"Wukong, he won't hurt you, he will just measure your temperature, blood pressure, and check..."
"NO."
"Wukong, I know you feel bad. Let me help you."
It didn't work anymore.
If Liuer really wanted him well, he would have gotten him out of here as quickly as possible. He would believe him.
He noticed that the door was open. His chance.
He nodded. Liuer smiled and walked towards him, but unexpectedly Wukong passed him by. The doctor tried to catch him, but he missed him too. He quickly got out of the room before the door closed.
It was definitely a nightmare. A nightmare from which he must free himself. So why is this hard for him? His heart hurts. His beloved... He was deceived. This is not love at all. So why does it hurt so much? Or maybe Liuer wants good for him? NO. Maybe?
Wukong ran ahead. Regardless of anything. He knew every second counted. He got into the room where the party was still going on. He slowed down. He was panting. It must look normal, as if nothing had happened. Terrace, that's how you get to the terrace, and then what next?
"Wukong?" Ting said. He just happened to run into Ting and Zu. Then Po and Rin joined in.
He needs to calm down.
"Is everything OK?" he said. After.
"We were worried about you." Rin asked, she wanted to touch Wukong's arm, but he quickly moved away.
"Yes, everything's fine, I just need to get some fresh air."
Wukong started looking around, looking for a way out and checking if Liuer was there.
"It doesn't look like you're okay at all." Zu said.
"Wukong, what's going on?" Ting asked.
"Yes, no.. you don't have to worry." Wukong said.
"From there I am." Liuer, who stood behind Wukong, said with a smile. Wukong stopped and tensed. He wrapped his arms around Wukong.
"Wukong, don't run away like that, I will always find you." he whispered into Wukong's ear. Wukong was paralyzed with fear.
The rest looked at each other questioningly.
"We should go back, forgive us, my wife, she's not feeling well and should rest." Liuer said. He took Wukong's hand.
"Sunshine, don't make a scene." he whispered into Wukong's ear.
Wukong nodded.
They disappeared around the corner.
.
.
"Something happened. Have you seen what Wukong looked like?" Ting said.
"She looked terrified." Rin said. "Liuer must have done something to her."
"Don't talk nonsense. Liuer would never hurt her." Po said.
"I'll leave it. It's none of our business." Zu said.
.
.
Wukong didn't understand why Liuer was acting like this. I do not understand this. Why did he never believe him? He kept telling him, but he never listened, and he has six ears. How can he convince him?
They walked along the corridor in silence. Liuer held him by the elbows so he couldn't escape.
I do not understand this.
"Why do you behave like that?" he said almost inaudibly, but the prince heard it. They stopped for a moment. Wukong looked at the floor. He didn't say why, but he felt ashamed of his behavior, and he shouldn't have.
Liuer touched Wukong's chin and tilted his head up so they could look into each other's eyes.
"You are mine. I am responsible for you. Everything I do... I do it for you, for us." he said in an authoritative tone.
"If you cared about me, you would believe me..." Wukong muttered. The prince sighed.
"One day you will understand that everything I done was to protect you."
Wukong looked at the prince more confidently. His blood boiled with anger.
"From what?" Wukong asked.
"Against all evil."
Wukong fell silent. Has Liuer always been like this? Maybe Wukong didn't notice his true features?
"Even in front of you?" Wukong said quietly. Liuer looked at him in surprise.
"Sunshine, you don't have to be afraid of me, I'm not hurting you and I won't."
"What if you've already done this to me?"
"What?" Liuer chuckled. "Darling, I am not like my father who betrayed you," said the prince. Wukong's eyes widened. How did he know that the king had betrayed him? After all, it was written in this book, and he made Wukong a crazy person! He lied from the very beginning! He clenched his fists.
"Wukong?"
"Liar! You're a fucking liar!"
"What?... oh.. Wukong, I can explain.."
"I've had enough of your lies! You knew!"
"Wukong... Sunshine calm down... I'll give you..."
Too late. Wukong quickly ran away from him.
.
.
Wukong was pissed. Very pissed off. It dawned on him that it was all just a farce. One big fraud. The prince knew. The king knows too. Do they all know? If so... Does that mean it's a lie? Did they want to imprison him? That's why they told him he was sick?!
Was this love also a lie? Just for him to stay here forever?! Is this marriage a lie too?!
All he wants now is to run away, as far away from here as possible.
And unfortunately he ran into the party where there were still a lot of people and unfortunately for him he ran straight into the king.
"Wukong? Is everything okay?"
"No! You. I hate you!"
"What? What are you talking about?"
Wukong, however, passed him and ran towards the exit. There has been some confusion around this. And they started referring to Wukong as a runaway bride.
The king had to figure it out quickly. He ran after him.
.
.
.
Wukong ran across the throne room. There was no time to think now, only to run. He was tired, but now the stakes were larger than life. They won't make him believe he has any disease!
He felt the prince watching over him, being behind him, but is it possible to run far from his own shadow?
Liuer emerged from Wukong's shadow and wrapped his arms around him. Wukong didn't expect this. They fell to the floor together. Wukong began to squirm and growl. Liuer tried his best to calm him down. Wukong lost all dreams of a future together with Liuer. Together forever. Everything collapsed. Everything was destroyed, and it was because of one lie, no, a web of lies that stretched from the very beginning, entwining Wukong and numbing his mind. He won't fall for it again.
With all his strength, he tried to free himself from Liuer's grip. Until he finally stopped fidgeting. Liuer whispered words of comfort to him, that everything would be fine, they would return to the room, he would take care of him, etc. When they stood up, Wukong took advantage of the prince's moment of inattention and pushed him away with all his strength. And since his powers had no seal, the prince carved a hole in the wall. Wukong quickly turned around and, just like last time, ran towards the exit. The book said that he could fly on a cloud, and this would be his escape route. Or at least he has to try.
.
.
Liuer emerged from the hole in the wall. He called a guards and ordered them to search the entire palace. Then he ran in the direction he suspected that Wukong had run, which was towards the entrance to the courtyard. His Sunshine won't escape from him that easily. If necessary, next time, he will lock Wukong in a room until he finally understands, that evreything he done was for his Sunshine best.
.
.
Wukong finally got out. Fresh air. Freedom. NO. He's not free yet. Like last time. But now, he know truth. He has to figure out how to summon the cloud. But before that, he felt someone behind him. His first thought was prince, but when he turned around he saw the king. He looked at him with anger, but also with sadness? In the book it was written that the king once had feelings for him and then only hatred remained.
Wukong took a step back.
"And yet you remember." said the king. He started circling him. Wukong kept his eyes on him. What? Ah.. Since they're having so much fun. Wukong will also play lies.
"Yes. Surprised. Brother?" the words were like venom.
"Honestly, I didn't think you'd last this long."
"I'm sorry I disappointed you, Mac."
"If you had listened to me then. You would have been mine, we would have lived together in your kingdom, but you must have been blinded by that stupid lion."
"And I trusted you!" Wukong shouted.
"Yes, and that was one of your mistakes, your highness."
The king launched an attack, but Wukong quickly pulled his staff from his ear. He blocked the attack. The king looked at it in horror. Wukong swung and hit the king, who flew away.
"I should have killed you centuries ago!" Wukong growled.
"And that was your next mistake, for which you will pay dearly."
The king formed his own staff from the shadows and launched an attack himself. Wukong blocked every attack. The fight lasted a long time. Until the guards gathered and started helping the king. Lieur also joined in this fun, but just like last time, he emerged from Wukong's shadow and embraced him, even using the shadows to bind him. The king ordered the guards to withdraw. Liuer tried his best to tame Wukong. "Wukong, my love, you are my light. Please, leave your weapons and we will be together." Liuer whispered. Tears rolled down Wukong's cheeks.
"Do you want it? I'll take you out of here? That's why you were angry? I'll take you to our house."
More lies. He was fed up with this! He did not stand it. Anger, anger, hatred boiled inside him.
His blood boiled.
He couldn't do it. It exploded. He shouted. He created a circle of golden energy that knocked everyone to the ground. A small crater formed where Wukong stood. The prince was stunned for a moment, but he quickly regained his composure, stood up, and stretched his arms in front of him as if he were taming a wild beast. Wukong looked at him with anger, but also pain.
"Wukong, Sunshine, let me help you, I want the best for you."
"No! Enough of these lies!" Wukong looked up for a second and saw clouds. He winked. And miraculously, a white cloud flew from the sky to Wukong.
Liuer was terrified that his beloved would run away. "Wukong! No!"
"Moon.. No. Liuer. I regret trusting you. I hate that I fell in love with you." he said bitterly. Lieur was on the verge of tears.
Wukong, was already in tears. And more tears rolled down his cheeks and fell onto the cloud.
"Wukong! I'm begging you! I'll fix it all!"
But Wukong quickly turned around and disappeared in the blink of an eye.
The prince fell to his knees. "I'm sorry..." the prince whispered. His whole world burned down. And it was all because of one, no, many lies, lies from his father.💔
.
"Fuck" said the King.
.
.
😭😭😭💔💔💔Don't worry, it's not the end. There is much more to discover😶🌫️.
