"Ava!" Beatrice whisper-shouted, "Will you stop?"
The sister warrior could feel Ava's gaze on her, but she kept her own eyes trained on the non-assuming building across the street.
"Stop what?"
"Singing the James Bond theme tune in your head." Beatrice shuffled a little to change her weight, her legs tingly with pins and needles from being crouched in this alleyway for so long.
Ava spluttered a little behind her, and the sister warrior finally shot a glance in her direction. The younger woman was gaping back at her, blood creeping into her cheeks.
"You can hear that?" She finally gasped out.
"We can all hear that, Ava...I've just gotten good at blocking it out." Halo responded drily and Beatrice nodded in agreement.
Ava reddened further, opening and closing her mouth a couple of times before replying, "Wait, can you hear all the things I think-sing in my head? Even..."
"Yes, even the song you made up about me." The sister warrior interrupted quickly, blushing herself now.
The song in question was about all the things Ava liked about Beatrice, which would have been endearing if not for its rather explicit nature.
"Oh." Her fiancé looked down at her feet in embarrassment, "Did you...did you like it?" She mumbled after a moment, golden ringed eyes peeking up through her eyelashes to observe the taller woman's reaction.
"Umm..."
"Guys, your coms are on...Can we focus, please?" Mary's tinny voice chimed in through their earpieces.
Beatrice was glad their friends were on the roof of the building adjacent to the one they were watching, only Ava was witness to her crimson face.
"Yes, can we? I don't need to hear this..." Lilith spoke next, the sister warrior could hear the eye roll in the winged woman's tone.
"Sorry...Yes...Back on task." Beatrice stuttered, trying to regain her composure and shooting her fiancé a 'I can't believe you brought this up on a mission' kind of look, to which the younger woman mouthed an apology.
There was a moment of silence and the sister warrior's cheeks had just started to fade when Camila, who was sitting in their van with Dora a little way up the road, piped up, "Oh! Can you sing me the song, Ava?"
"No!" Several voices replied at once.

"That's twelve in the last half an hour. We should make our move before there's too many..." Mary murmured through her earpiece as they watched another two, rather unremarkable, men enter the building across the street.
Beatrice had to give it to the Brotherhood, they had done an excellent job concealing their hideout. It was disguised as a cafe, a popular one at that, which was currently full of customers. Because of the convincing cover, Mother Superior had ordered a stakeout just in case the information shared from the Church had been wrong, but, after watching the comings and goings so far, there was definitely something dodgy going on behind the scenes. Several groups of similarly aged men had entered throughout the afternoon, the real telling thing being that none of them had left so far.
"We should." Dora agreed, "What's our play here, Beatrice?"
"We need to get in there, the sooner the better." The sister warrior replied, biting her lip while she considered their options.
Mary was right, they really couldn't afford any more of the enemy filing into the building. But Beatrice really didn't want to take the Brotherhood's lair during the day, especially after discovering how busy this little street in Florence actually was. They could end up exposing the OCS in broad daylight.
