~Ava~

"Take her down! Now!"

They converged on Bea, blocking the sister warrior from Ava's view. Heart pounding with fear for her fiancé, Ava couldn't do anything but stumble backwards, the iron grip on her forearm was bruising and inescapable. Her head ached sharply as she was manhandled deeper into the room. Ava kept half an eye on the cerulean blade in White Mask's hand, though her captor seemed entirely focused on the battle by the door, watching it with an unnerving clinical gaze.

She had to free herself and the knife away from him, but Ava didn't want to distract Bea from the fight.

"Sit down." White Mask growled, pushing her back against the wall they were now cornered against.

Ava went willingly, if only to get her agonizing headache under control. Her vision was hazy with pain. She needed to pull herself together.

Halo, can you do something about my head? Please?

"I'm trying!" Halo snapped back, "Would help if you stopped being shaken up constantly..."

Grunts and cries of pain sounded from the brawl by the door. Ava caught flashes of Bea moving fluidly in the center, dropping opponents left and right. The Halo bearer frowned when she noticed her fiancé didn't have her staff, Bea never went anywhere without her staff. Though, it wasn't like the sister warrior needed it, even hand-to-hand, she was deadly.

Ava winced as Bea drove the heel of her palm into the throat of the person closest to her, sending them crumpling to the floor. But as quickly as they fell, there was another to replace them. The way she was going, Bea would tire soon, even with her Halo fragment powering her movements and healing the minor injuries, the energy was finite.

Ava had to help her.

Headache fading to a more manageable throb, she wriggled forward, getting her legs underneath herself, and flexed her wrists against the divinium cuffs. There was fuck all she could do with her hands tied behind her back. Ava bit her cheek in frustration. White Mask took a step forward, blocking Ava's view of the fight. He reached into his pocket and Ava tensed, expecting some sort of firearm, only to raise her eyebrows at the phone he pulled out instead. He held the slim black device up and started recording.

What the fuck?

"Ava, the key..."

Ava's eyes fell back to the man's pocket, the top of a softly glowing blue key just peeking out at the brim.

Well, what do you know...

Ava had an idea.

In an act of fake clumsiness, she fell forward and hit the back of White Mask's knees hard enough to buckle them. He hissed in anger, stumbling away, and left the Halo bearer to land unforgivingly on her face. The sting across the bridge of Ava's nose was nothing compared to her agony of her head injury flaring up.

"Ava!? Are you kidding me?"

Sorry, but...

Ava couldn't continue when White Mask suddenly rounded on her.

"You little bitch." He snarled, "You don't give up do you?"

Ava glared at him, rolling onto her back and shuffling backwards. Her captor shook his head at her, stepping forward to deliver the toe of his boot into her side hard enough it stole the air from her lungs.
