~Beatrice~
Ava wolf whistled loudly as Beatrice stepped out of the changing room.
"I take it you approve then?" She asked, turning slowly to look at herself in the mirror, the silky material of her dress flowing around her knees.
"Fuck yeah, babe!" Her fiancé declared, bouncing over to run her hands across the extravagant beading sewn into the thin straps over Beatrice's shoulders, "You look incredible."
"You've said that for every single dress she's tried on so far." Lilith muttered, sipping the free champagne and relaxing back into the insanely comfortable lounge suite that her and Mary were sprawled upon, "I'm beginning to think there may be some bias..."
Ava poked her tongue out at the winged woman, "You're just jealous because you didn't get to see Mary's outfit."
Lilith scoffed but didn't reply.
"Don't worry, Lil." Mary smiled, patting her girlfriend's knee, "I'll give you your own private viewing later..."
Ava made a gagging noise, immediately setting off a full-blown argument between her and Lilith. Beatrice turned away, studying herself in the full-length mirror.
"Should I be concerned?" The tailor's assistant, Rachel, approached her with raised eyebrows and a brief, slightly concerned glance toward the bickering women.
"Don't worry they always do that." Beatrice said with a fond little smile, "It doesn't normally spiral into an all-out brawl."
"I'm glad..." Rachel chuckled, "So, what do you think?" She gestured at the navy dress the sister warrior had stepped out in.
"It's beautiful..." Beatrice replied, looking down at herself, "I'm just not sure if it's..." She paused, unsure of how to articulate her feelings.
"Not sure it's you?" Rachel nodded knowingly, "Could I...Would you trust me to pick something for you to try?"
"Sure." Beatrice shrugged, "Why not?"
A few minutes later she was dressed a navy suit jacket and matching slacks with an ivory long-sleeved shirt underneath, and doing her best to summon up the courage to leave the changing room.
"Come on, Bea! Show us!" Ava called impatiently, "I'm sure it can't be as bad as the yellow dress with the puffy sleeves I tried on before..."
"Okay, Okay." Beatrice murmured, fidgeting with the cuffs of her shirt as she took a deep breath.
Pushing aside the curtain, she tried not to curl in on herself as all eyes in the room fell upon her.
There was a long moment of silence.
"Wow Bea, that's fucking hot." Mary spoke first, smirking at the flush that inevitably crept up Beatrice's neck following her words.
"Ahh...thanks?"
Lilith nodded in agreement, shooting a sly smirk at Ava, "It is, but I think you broke Ava."
The Halo bearer did appear to be very much unable to function, she was absolutely still, eyes glazed, mouth gaping, as she stared at Beatrice.
She took a couple of steps towards her fiancé, tilting her head in concern, "Darling?"
Ava took a sudden gasping breath like she had temporarily forgotten how to breathe, "Sorry...I just...sorry..."
"I think the kid approves, Bea." Mary said, grinning widely.
"You like it?" Beatrice asked, raising an eyebrow as she turned back to Ava.
