Wedding and Birth

"Why is it so loose?" I ask, pulling on my dress. It's the day of mine and Din's Greyling wedding. He's currently getting ready with Cobb, Malem, Grub and the other men while I'm with Riley, Fiona, Bo, Willow, and Ahsoka, who just got here yesterday.

"I'm guessing the dressmaker left room for your growing belly and left too much room." Riley says, helping to move the dress in place. Fiona looks me over, thinking. She starts rolling  and folding the extra fabric, using pins to put it in place.

"There, now it doesn't look oversized, and the pins match the dress! Looks like it's supposed to!" She smiles. It feels better, so I'm taking her word for it. There are hair stylists and make up artists who are styling us, and I must say I hate the feeling of make up.

Ahsoka is watching me fondly. "I'm so happy for you and Din. Maybe your union can help bridge the gap between Jedi and Mandalorians." She says.

"Trust me, it'll take more than a wedding for that." Bo-Katan chuckles. As the final touches of our clothing is complete, I look in a mirror. God I feel so frilly and needlessly gussied up. But I do look amazing. My small belly shows, and I can feel the baby move. They seem excited for today.

Suddenly, the door bangs open, and a stressed out servant appears. She looks near tears. "Your Majesty!!! It's a disaster!!!" She huffs.

"Calm, calm! Take deep breaths!" I tell her, breathing with her. Once she calms down, she looks near tears again.

"The kitchens messed up! They cooked the wrong thing!!!" She whimpers. Instead of roast goat, the main course is fish. Willow narrows her eyes as the servant also says that the color of the table clothes are dandelion yellow instead of white.

There's many small things that have been messed up, and Fiona looks pissed. "Something tells me your dress was one of the things messed up. And these are no accidents." She says.

"I can feel it in the Force. Someone is trying to ruin today." Ahsoka says. I nod, then turn to the servant.

"It's ok. We're rolling with it. I don't actually care about the color of table clothes or what's being served. What matters is Din is my husband under Greyling Law. Anything else that happens, we'll roll with it." I tell her. She nods, and leaves to tell the other servants what I said.

"Want me to find out who's messing with your day?" Willow asks, cracking her knuckles.

"Down girl. I know who it is. It's the Council. They tried everything to get me and Din to separate. One of them claimed my baby isn't his. Din knew better than to believe it." I say. I make sure I have my courting crystal and my mudhorn necklace on. Bo polished them for me, so they shine like new.

Soon, Mom and Dad enter my room, and Mom starts crying. "Oh Kira!!! I never thought I'd see this day!" She sobs, hugging me tightly.

"Easy, love. We don't need her dress getting stained with tears." Dad says. He looks happy as he adds, "You look beautiful." I feel tears well up, and hug Dad. They soon leave to take their places, and I take a few deep breaths to calm myself. Soon, everyone is in position.

Music starts playing, and Willow, Fiona, Bo-Katan and Ahsoka walk ahead as my ladies in waiting. I then take my place at the door. I can feel Din's nerves all the way from here. I smile, loving him even more. My musical cue starts, and the doors open again.

I start walking down the aisle made by chairs, and people gasp as I walk. I hear the mutters of how beautiful I look, and how I'm glowing with child. But I don't pay them any mind. Din is at the end of the aisle, and to my surprise, he's not wearing his helmet. I can see the joy on his face as he sees me, and he wipes a few tears of joy away.
