"They will sure as hell try." Malem tells me. It's dinner time and Malem had to drag me out of my room to join him, Mother, Father, Zelna and Riley for dinner. The younger ones are at a birthday party with kids their age.
"But in reality, they can't make Din and I separate." I reiterate.
"No, they cannot force you two to divorce." Mother says.
"They can make things difficult until you agree." Father points out.
"Then I will deal with it. I love Din more than life. I refuse to divorce him because a bunch of asshats don't like it." I declare, making Riley laugh into her soup.
"That's the spirit. I never liked the idea of having a council of nobles, but how else do we run things on the other side of the planet?" Zelna sighs.
"Wait, this isn't the only place on the planet with people?" I ask.
"By the Force, no! The whole planet has villages, towns, and hamlets of people. We are the only city, but people have spread out across the planet." Riley says. Well shit. Learn something new every day.
Over the next month, I try my best to get better at fighting, but my body is acting weird. I'm even more tired, vomiting more, and now my tits have started to hurt. Mother swears it's because I'm not using the training breast band she recommended, but I am!
The only thing that keeps me from going crazy is that Peli, Cobb, the gang from Navarro, and Bo have arrived. Fiona has been acting strange, like she knows something, but won't tell me. Cobb has started flirting with Riley, but she doesn't seem interested.
One morning, I wake from a restless sleep and feel that Din is returning today. For the first time since he left, I feel giddy. And not the weirdness of my body right now can change that! I'm in an etiquette lesson with Riley when I feel Din and the Crest enter the atmosphere. Riley can feel it too, so we abandon the lesson to run to the hanger.
Bo-Katan and Peli are there as well, finding the ships in the hanger fascinating. "Oh, you feel Din is arriving soon, don't you?" Peli grins.
"How did you know?" I ask.
"I heard him over the air control coms. He'll be pulling in soon." Peli grins. I smile and look back to the skies. Soon, I see the Crest flying in, and boy is she beat to hell. "I swear, he can never keep that thing in one piece, can he?" Peli sighs, standing with me.
"He's hopeless." I chuckle. As the Crest lands, I'm surprised that I only feel the life force of one other person on the Crest, and that person is NOT happy. As soon as the Crest lands, I'm at the side ramp, practically jumping for joy.
The ramp drops down, and there's Din, looking as strong as ever. I run up the ramp and hug him tightly, telling him how much I missed him. I hear him sigh in relief, and he tells me he missed me too. "DON'T TRUST HIM!!! STINKY MEN ARE BAD!!!" A female voice snarls.
Din lets me go and I look to the back of the Crest. In a very large cage is a grey and black Twi'lek girl, who seems to be a teenager. I look at Din, confused. "Why the hell is she in a cage!?" I demand.
"She bit me and tried to run away. I rescued her from a slavery ring and if I left her there, she'd be recaptured. I was hoping you could get through to her." Din says. I sigh and hug him again, glad he's home. I then turn to the girl in the cage.
I come up to the cage, and she moves as far back as the cage will let her. "I'm not going to hurt you. My name is Kira. What's yours?" I ask her. She looks at me like she's studying me, and sniffs the air.
"Willow." She answers.
"Willow? That's a pretty name! How old are you, Willow?" I smile at her. She keeps looking over at Din, then back to me. "Din is my husband. I don't know how he got you in here, but I promise he's a good man. You're safe now." I tell her.
