3RD POV
It was three o'clock in the morning and Taehyung was in the hotel room, leaning against the bed frame. He couldn't fall asleep because the nightmares from his childhood that he was starting to have regularly were coming back.
Mostly he was far from home. This week he was in New York for a conference on some business and had to stay there for a week.
He grabbed his glasses off the nightstand he'd put on and grabbed his work laptop and started checking on meetings that were scheduled for the next week when he got back to Korea.
He checked the scheduled meetings over and over to make sure they were scheduled without a single mistake until his attention was caught by the documents Lucia had sent him to read.
They were documents about the new interns who would start work as soon as Taehyung returned from New York.
He flipped through them until he came across a person who evoked the feelings Taehyung feared. It was Kim Jennie.
This girl made him feel happy and Taehyung himself had no idea how this girl did it. He had never felt such feelings for anyone, and it was a little scary, but also very tempting.
After reading her entire documentary, he couldn't stop thinking about one certain thing.
Why she stopped studying. What made her not finish her last year of school.
''Why she didn't finish school......god why am I even thinking about this.'' he said as he took his glasses off his nose and set them down beside him before closing his laptop and putting it back on the nightstand. He got out of bed and walked over to the giant window from which he could slowly see all of New York.
He took in the view of the city, only to stop and think about the girl he'd only seen once. Unfortunately, it was futile.
The day he walked in that door Taehyung couldn't stop thinking about her. He just couldn't. Most of all, he couldn't forget how Mr. Kang had insulted Jennie. That made Taehyung very angry.
He had no right to insult her because of her sweater.
Taehyung couldn't stand him for a long time. He's been tolerating Mr. Kang's behavior for a long time and he's sick of it. He's undisciplined and rude. If he could, he would have fired him long ago.
''Stupid Kang. How I can't stand him.'' he said to himself as he started looking for his cell phone.
When he finally found it he started scrolling through his contacts before he found his best friend's number and started calling him.
After a few futile calls he finally reached him.
''Hi Taehyung-ssi. Sorry I had an important meeting. What did you want.''
''Hi Kook, I need to find out something from you.''
''What's going on?''
''I need to find out information about someone and I need it now.''
''Hey, aren't they in New York around 3:00 in the morning right now? Why aren't you asleep yet...''
''Are you gonna find out for me or not?''
''Then who is it? Is it some girl? Taehyungie has a crush?'' he teased.
''That's none of your business Jeon. You owe me for the way I held you back from Lisa last time.''
''Right. You got it, but I'm not getting you anything until I know his or her name.''
''It's about a girl who's supposed to be our new intern. Her name is Kim Jennie.''
