The rays of sunlight gently broke through the curtains in the room and illuminated the faces of the two fiancés lying in bed. Jennie continued sleeping peacefully beside him, while Taehyung was awakened by the warm light.
He slowly opened his eyes and his gaze immediately rested on the woman he loved beyond belief. He felt his heart fill with love and gratitude. In his mind, he realized how incredibly lucky he was to have her by his side and that without her, his life would be empty.
He lay there watching her face, her peaceful expression, and thought about how much she meant to him. Every day with her was a gift, and knowing they were engaged filled him with joy and anticipation.
He couldn't wait for the day when he could call her his wife. That day would be perfect, like the fulfillment of his greatest dream.
Taehyung moved gently, trying his best to minimize any sound so as not to wake Jennie. Her breathing was still calm and even, which meant she was deeply asleep.
Slowly and with great care, he crept out of bed, carefully pulling back the covers, and put them back in place. He wanted her sleep to remain undisturbed and restful, just as she deserved after her hard days.
As he moved quietly around the room, his eyes remained fixed on her, almost fascinated. Every feature of her face, the gentle movement of her eyelashes as they occasionally fluttered, filled him with a sense of peace.
He quietly opened the bathroom door and stepped inside. He turned on the shower and let the hot water run over his tired body. The water washed away the last traces of drowsiness.
After the shower, he wiped himself with a towel and then wrapped it around his waist.
But when he returned to the bedroom, intent on grabbing his clothes from the closet so he wouldn't have to walk around the house in just a towel, his eyes immediately caught movement on the bed.
Jennie was awake. She turned to him and her eyes met his. The corners of her mouth curled gently into a smile as their gazes met.
Her eyes looked at him with a love and tenderness that even he felt. He stopped and instead of going to the closet, headed back to the bed. He smiled at her as he sat on the edge of the bed.
"Good morning, beautiful," he said softly, leaning in to kiss her on the forehead.
Jennie smiled softly at him, her hand instinctively touching his cheek.
"Good morning," she replied sleepily, but there was joy in her voice at seeing him.
"Why did you get up so early?"
"I couldn't sleep, so I wanted to catch up on some work emails," Taehyung said with a smile, pulling her close. "But now that you're awake, I'll probably reconsider and stay here with you."
Jennie laughed softly and rested her head on his shoulder.
"That sounds like a plan. Even though we're already engaged, it still seems like a dream."
Taehyung hugged her tighter, as if he never wanted to let go.
"It's the most beautiful dream, love. And I can't wait until we're finally married. Every day with you is a gift to me."
Jennie snuggled even closer to him and murmured: "I love you, Tae. And I'm looking forward to all that's to come."
Taehyung smiled as he realized how much they meant to him, not only her, but their children as well.
"Me too, sweetheart. We'll make it through this together."
Suddenly, Jennie felt a gentle but firm kick in her stomach. She smiled slightly and placed her hand on her stomach.
