Part 7

3RD POV

TWO MONTHS LATER

Jennie walked down the hospital corridor. She was carrying a bag full of delicious food that she and Mrs. Son had prepared for her father.

Whenever she went to see him during her lunch break she always listened to her father complain about how he couldn't stand the food he was getting at the hospital anymore and rave about how he was looking forward to going home and being able to have a proper meal.

So Jennie decided to cook him some of his favorite foods and Mrs. Son helped her.

It has been two months since Mr. Kim has been in the hospital and his condition has finally improved. Mr. Kim felt good and was looking forward to being released so he could be home with Jennie.

Jennie was very happy that her father was better. When the doctors told her about Mr. Kim's condition she was incredibly happy and it was a great relief.

''Hi appa, hello Mr. Lee.''

Mr. Lee was Mr. Kim's roommate. In the past two months that they have been sharing a room together, they have become friends. Jennie herself was glad that her father at least had someone to talk to.

''Hi daughter, Lee is not here right now. he went for a walk.'' Mr. Kim said and laughed.

''Good. How are you appa? Are you feeling good? Do you have any pain?''

''Nothing hurts. I feel great.''

''That's good to hear.'' she smiled as she picked up the bag of food and started to take the food out onto the table.

''What is it?'' he asked her.

''This is what Mrs. Son and I cooked together for you. These are some of your favorite dishes.''

''Oh, you didn't have to.''

''Yes, you did. I felt so sorry for you when you slowly told me every day that the food they give you here isn't good and how you miss my Kimchi so I made it for you.''

''You're amazing Jennie thank you.

''Have you eaten yet?'' she asked him.

''I have eaten but I haven't eaten much. We had fish soup which smelled horrible and tasted even worse,'' he said.

''You haven't eaten? Then you'll eat all of this.''

''General's orders.'' he said and started eating.

''Leave some for Mr. Lee. He's always complaining about the poor cooking here so he'll be happy to have some too.'' she finished and Mr. Lee just appeared in the doorway.

''Mr. Lee, hello.''

''Hello Jennie. How are you?'' Mr. Lee asked.

''I went to visit my appa and brought enough food so you can have some too. I brought kimchi, bulgogi, japchae and tteokbokki.''

''So much food? You must have gone to a lot of trouble.'' Mr. Lee said as he took his plate, put the food on and started eating as well.

''Not really. Mrs. Son helped me. She's our wonderful neighbor who kind of lives with us now.''

''Mrs. Son? She doesn't mean the Son Hyesun you keep raving about Kim.'' Mr. Lee said and started laughing.

''Stop talking Lee and eat or I'll eat it all up.''

Jennie laughed. Both men were bickering like little boys.

''Well I'll be going. My class is about to start so have a great time, just eat everything and if you want to make more food just call me if you want daddy.'' she said as she grabbed all her stuff, bid her father and Mr. Lee goodbye and hurried off to work.
