Part 34

TAEHYUNG'S POV

Three years have passed like water, but so much has happened in that time. The company has grown a lot and I have become the most successful businessman in the world. I could say that luck was sticking to my heels. I did well and I was starting to make even more money than before.

My sister gave birth to a second daughter, Minja. When she was born, her older sister Harin wouldn't let anyone near her. Except me. I love both my nieces. They're little devils, but that's what children are. Sometimes I get the feeling that I wish I had a child too. I could have if everything hadn't gone wrong.

The day I ran away from the wedding and found out Jennie was gone I felt like I had been stabbed in the heart several times. I felt like I'd lost the most precious thing I had. I even went back to that house a few times hoping she would show up again, but she didn't.

From that day on, I changed and started focusing on the company and myself.

My father and I ended up suing each other for the company and the property because I found a letter from my grandfather saying that he had divided everything between his grandchildren. And I won.

FLASHBACK

''Don't talk about her like that, you piece of shit! How dare you say something like that!''

''Rather, you tell me how you could even dare let alone think of running away from your own wedding!" shouted Kim.

''You just don't get it father! I never wanted to marry Irene! It's your fault that all this happened!''

''You bastard!" he tried to hit him, but Taehyung dodged.

''Forget about running my life father! And forget about the contract with Bae. If you want at least some of the property then prepare yourself because I want to sue...oh and lest I forget, I found this.'' I showed him a piece of paper.

''What's this?''

''It's grandfather's will, it says that 50% of the estate is mine, the other 40% is Jisoo's and 10% is Kai's.''

''Where did you find it?''

''Did you think you could keep it from me? That you're not ashamed. Grandpa didn't leave you anything, so you preferred to keep it from us. No wonder Grandpa didn't leave you anything, you fucking asshole.''

''How did you find it? You little brat!''

''Curtail your words father or I'll destroy you and squeeze every last cent out of you.''

This also resulted in Kai and my stepmother disagreed with the will. They didn't like that Kai got the smallest share.

FLASHBACK

''That can't be true! How is it possible that my darling has only 10% of the shares!'' shouted Sana.

''Madam, calm down.'' said the lawyer.

''I'm supposed to be calm? How is it even possible that that bastard over there has 50% and Jisoo has 40%? And my son only got 10%! Surely there's been tampering!''

''I must disappoint you madam, but it's genuine.'' said the lawyer.

''So we're done or is there anything else?'' I asked.

''Mr. Kim, there's still something...Your grandfather owns some other smaller buildings that he left to you.''

''This is the top! How can he inherit everything! It was my father, not his!'' my father shouted.
