After a few weeks, the day finally came when Jennie was to leave the hospital. It had been a long and difficult time, but now, with Taehyung supporting her and helping her get dressed, she felt a mixture of relief and nervousness. Her body was still weak, but the thought of returning home to her sons filled her with joy.
"So, are you ready?" Taehyung asked with a smile as he helped her put on her comfortable shoes.
Jennie nodded and patted her tummy. "Yes, but... I'm still worried."
Taehyung squeezed her hand gently. "I'll take care of everything. You just need to focus on resting and making sure our little one is okay. I promise I won't let you do anything that could put you in danger."
Before they could leave, the doctor entered the room. His expression was serious, but his voice was calm. "Mrs. Kim, I'm glad you're feeling better. But I want to give you some important instructions before we release you. The baby is fine, but there are some risks after the accident. You have to be really careful. We recommend you rest as much as possible, lie down and only get up when necessary, for example to use the toilet. Any more stress or exertion could cause premature labour."
Jennie swallowed and lowered her eyes. "I understand. I'll do my best."
Taehyung frowned and gripped her hand tightly. "I promise you won't have to do anything. I'll take care of everything. We can rely on the family and the staff. Jennie will have peace of mind and comfort."
The doctor nodded. "That's good. But really keep an eye on her. And if there's any pain, come immediately."
Jennie took a deep breath. She was grateful that Taehyung was so determined to take care of her. When they finally made their way to the exit, the hospital staff was saying goodbye to her and she felt her eyes moisten. It had been a long journey, but she was finally going home.
Once they were outside, the fresh air gave her strength. Taehyung helped her into the car and made sure she was sitting comfortably. "Everything's going to be okay, honey. We're almost home."
Jennie looked at him and smiled gently. "Thank you for being there for me."
Taehyung stroked her cheek. "I'll always be here. Just rest now. I can't wait to bring you home."
Jennie nodded, closed her eyes, and leaned back against the seat.
After a few minutes of driving, the car came to a slow stop in front of the house and Jennie took a deep breath. After so long in the hospital, she was finally seeing her home. Through the windshield she saw familiar faces - her aunt stood at the entrance, Eunhyun and Jaehyun stood beside her, their small hands clutching the fabric of her dress. As soon as she noticed them, her heart clenched with emotion.
"Mommy!" Both boys exclaimed almost simultaneously, their faces lighting up with excitement.
"Wait here," Taehyung told her quietly with a soft smile. He opened the door and stepped out, pulling his coat tighter even though he could barely feel the chill of the evening. He walked around the car and opened the door on her side.
He offered her his hand and helped her out. "Careful, honey," he whispered carefully, holding her to make it easier for her to get up. Jennie staggered slightly, her legs weak after weeks in a hospital bed, but Taehyung held her tightly.
As soon as she was on her feet, her sons ran to her. Eunhyun ran a little faster, but Jaehyun soon caught up.
"Slow down or you'll trip!" Auntie called out to them, but the boys didn't even notice her. They were too excited to finally be with their mother.
Jennie, overcome with emotion, opened her arms to them, and when they ran to her, she hugged them tightly. They were so small, but so strong. She felt their tiny arms wrap around her waist and tears rolled down her cheeks.
