Lexa's POV

"What were their names?" I questioned Madison. She still looked dazed and hurt. I wanted to comfort her, because that is what I am supposed to be doing, but I can't. We have to finish what we started.

"Susie and Mary-Beth." She told me, barely louder than a whisper. Ashton sat next to her, Michael on the other side. Our little circle had made me comfortable yet anxious.

"It should just be Maddy and I that put our hands on." I tell the boys, they nod vigorously as if they weren't planning on taking part anyways.

"Luke, can I talk to you for a sec?" I stood up, reaching my hand out to my boyfriend. He agreed silently and I pulled him away from the group.

"This isn't a good idea, Lexa." He looked worried, but why wouldn't he be?

"I know, I know, but its something I have to do. This situation is eating me alive. I wish I never even researched anything. I wish I never even knew." I felt the tears coming on, "But what I wanted to tell you is that if anything goes wrong. I love you. I always will." Luke's mouth fell open and he embraced me quickly. His hand tangled itself in the curls of my hair and he rest his chin on my head.

"Nothing is gonna hurt you, baby girl, I promise. I would never let that happen. I love you too much to lose you." He told me. I inhaled sharply and nodded my head. I know he wants to protect me, but this is out of his control. I wiped my eyes as I felt Luke's lips on my forehead. For a brief moment I felt sane again, but once I turned around to see everyone, I felt like a monster. We shouldn't do this. We shouldn't, but we are.

"Okay, you ready Mads?" I asked my best friend. She gave me a weak smile. I took in a breath and placed two fingers from each hand on the planchette.

"Is anyone here with us?" I spoke out loud. Everyone moved closer to the board, waiting for something to happen. Anything, but nothing did.

"Susie? Mary Beth? We need to talk to you guys. I am Lexa Hood and my friend is Madison Clifford. We don't want to hurt you. Please, just talk to us." I said a bit louder. I looked at each person, their eyes were fixed on the board except Madison. She stared straight at me.

A shriek errupted, the planchette started moving. "Michael! Stop screaming! You are gonna get us caught!" Calum scorned.

"Lexa, tell me this is you." Madison's voice was desperate. I couldn't find the words so I only shook my head. I didn't move it. It wasn't me. The planchette stopped abruptly and I look to see what is was on. "Hi."

"Who are we speaking to?" I questioned aloud. The planchette coasted across the board.

S-u-s-i-e

"Is it okay if we ask you some questions Susie?" Madison took over. I was grateful, because I could feel my hands start to shake. I mever felt so scared in my life.

Yes.

"How old were you when you died?" She asked. Her blue eyes narrowed at the board.

"Why did that man kill you?" Her questioned seemed have comfused or upset Susie. She stopped replying.

"Susie, why did you die?" I repeated Madison's question. A large gust of wind flew about the air, sending me in chills. I looked up and the moon wasn't even noticable anymore.

S-k-i-n

"Skin?" I heard Luke whisper. I looked over, he and Ash both had a confused look on their faces. Madison, though, didn't seem surprised.

"Was it because you were darker, Susie? Is that why he killed you?" Madison asked.

Yes.

"Why did he kill Mary Beth?" I looked at Madison and she had tears slipping down her face. My breathing hitched as I waited for the answer.

"Hair?" I asked. Madison looked at me and nodded.

"Mary Beth had red hair like me, right Susie? None of her parents didn't have red hair. Her father must have thought his wife had an affair. Am I right, Susie?" I was taken aback, I wanted to know what Madison saw when she passed out. I wanted to understand and empathise with her.

Yes.

"Did you have family, Susie?" I qustioned. I looked at Cal and saw that he was rubbing his nose. Something he did when he was nervous.

"What was his name? Ask her!" Calum told me. I nodded and did as I was told.

J-a-m-e-s

"How did he die, Susie?" I asked.

W-h-i-p-p-e-d

"He was whipped to death?" I started crying. "Did you witness his death?"

Yes.

Bright lights blinded my vision. "Shit!" Ashton muttered. The lights and sirens flled my senses.

"Who is in there!" I heard the roar of an officer. Luke and Calum pulled me to my feet.

"Run! If they find us we can go to jail!" Luke yelled to the group. Madison started running alongside her brother. My legs started to run. The air slapped my face and the cold felt like
nothing anymore. A loud crash of thunder nearly made me trip over, but I kept going. I saw Calum in front of me, running for his life. Thats when it hit me.

We never said bye to Susie.
