Lexa's POV

I woke up with sharp pains. Whenever I breathed I felt like my ribs were caving in.

"Lex!" Calum yelled and smiled at me. I gave a weak wave and collapsed back on the bed. I looked down and my chest was bandaged. I wasn't wearing a bra, but luckily the bandage covered every.

"Who did this?" I asked my brother.

"Your boyfriend. Do you really think I wanna look at my sisters tits? No. He's been changing the bangages, but I have been cleaning up the bleeding." He tells me. I nod and stare back up to the ceiling.

"Is she gone?" I asked, referring to Susie. Calum rest his hand on mine and smiled.

"She is gone. For good. Lex, we don't have to worry about her again." I smiled and thats when the guilt hit me.

"Cal...I killed Nathan." I closed my eyes and remembered his charred body.

"Your ex? Lex, what?" He didn't seem to understand.

"Well..Susie did, but it was my body!" I cried hard.

"No, no, no. Lexa come on. You know you would never hurt anyone like that. Don't think about it, okay? Its almost your birthday! Everything is going to be okay." Calum tried soothing me, but he was right. I have things to look forward to, I can't be stuck in the past.

"You're right, Cal. Thank you. I love you so much, but now where is Luke?" I laughed.

"I'll get him." Calum grinned and left me alone in my room. I wondered how the hell they told my mom I ended up with a bullet hole. She is going to think I am in a gang.

"How are you feeling, baby girl?" Luke walked in and sat down where Cal had just been.

"Sore." I laugh, "How long have I been out?"

"Three days." He tells me. I widen my eyes at his words.

"How did you explain this to my parents?" I asked.

"A serious snake bite." He laughed and kissed me.

"And she believed that?" I laughed at him. He shrugged and examined my bandage.

"We need to put on a fresh one. Hold on," he said and left the room. I laid there paitently. Right before I heard Michael and Madison.

"She is my best friend!" I heard Madison scream.

"But she is basically my other little sister!" Michael yelled.

"You better stop, Mikey!" Calum warned playfully. That's when the two barged into my room. They looked like they were ready to hit each other.

"You're awake!" Madison screeched and ran over to hug me, but I stopped her before she causes any pain to my chest. "Right." She laughed and took my hand.

"I have exciting news!" She practically jumped up ad down.

"Let me tell her!" Michael whined. I stared at the pair, confused.

"What's going on?" I questioned.

"I got accepted to the university I wanted! The one that is closer to yours so we can still be with each other!" Madison said beaming. I smiled wildly at her.

"Mads, this is amazing, oh my God! And Mikey, why did you want to tell me?" I laughed.

"I don't know, I like telling people stuff." He laughed and leaned against the wall.

"So do I," Luke interrupted, "And I am telling you its time for you guys to get out. I need to change her bandage." I looked in his hands he had another one.

"Ew, gross." Mikey scoffed.

"At least I can look at a pair of boobs! You don't have a girlfriend." Luke retaliated. I rolled my eyes at how immature they were being.

"That doesn't stop me from fucking them." Michael laughed loudly. Madison pushed him out the door and left me and Luke to ourselves.

"Can you sit up by yourself?" He asked. I nodded and tried to sit up, but the pain was excruciating.

"Alright,"Luke unwrapped the bandage and it felt like my boobs weren't being suffocated anymore.

"Its not infected." Luke stated, referring to the wound. I nodded silently and thought to myself.

"Hey, Luke." He looked to me. "What are we going to do once I graduate? The university is like thirty minutes from here. I'm going to have to move."

"I never really thought about it..." Luke admits. Thats just like us, to not think about the future, but now I guess its necessary.

"We have seven months to figure this out, Hemmings." I laughed weakly.

"And we will. We always do." He kissed me after he was done with my bandage.

"What are you doing for my birthday?" I asked out of nowhere.

"Its a surprise." He winked and left me to rest.
