Madison's pov

"Are you sure this will work?" I asked Luke looking at his weird contraption. Because Mary Beth was looking for Lexa and was unaware of the soul swap, we're assuming, we set up the box that is used to capture souls under a pile of leaves. I would be standing on the other side waiting for her to get me. If all went well she would walk on the box and get sucked in. If it didnt, im not sure what would happen.

"It has to." Luke beamed he was obviously proud of what he had created. "Now you stand there and wait." He said then running behind a tree. Ashton walked over to me with disappointment in his eyes.

"I love you, but i was really hoping you'd take this more seriously." He sighed.

"How could i get more serious about the situation Ashton. My best friends in danger and im trying to save her." I furrowed my eyebrows. How could he do this to me.

"I just meant i wish you would think about our future." He said taking my hand. "I dont want anything to happen to you or Lexa but i want you to be safe." He sighed then hugged me tight. "I love you Madison."

"I love you too Ashton." I let out a light sniffle. This is harder than i thought. Michael was next to walk over to me.

"Im not going to make anything long and emotional because i dont want to overthink this. This is your decision and i do not support it at all but Calum is my friend and wants his sister back just as much as you want back your best friend. Lexa if you can hear me keep my sister safe. I love you both." He said wrapping me tight and kissing my forehead. Oh no here comes Calum.

"Be safe," he smiled. "Bring back my sister, Michael is crazy for letting you do this but i know Lexa would do the same for you." I nodded and took a step back. Damn everyones words are making me so nervous. This cant kill me, Mary Beth doesnt want my soul... can it?. Oh well, im here now time to finish what i started. I sat in the ground starring ahead awaiting the arrival of Mary Beth. After half an hour i began to give up hope of her coming until i heard something behind me. I turned around and saw all the boys still hiding behind the bush so i faced forward again. Eyeing the trap i heard more movement but i kept my focus.

"Watch out." I heard behind me before being pushed to the ground. I rolled over expecting to see one of the boys but it was Mary Beth. She had the same devious smile as Susie. I began feeling the air being pulled from my chest. Oh no not again. I saw the tiny teal ball once more then her smile faded to anger.

"This isnt the one im looking for!" She screamed in my face before throwing my head into the dirt. My vision began to go dark. Where the hell are the boys. After only a few seconds of darkness the air was returned to my lungs and i could see again. I looked at Luke who was holding the box in his hand.

"I got her." He panted. I sat up dazed. God my head hurt, my second near death experience in one day.

"So we can save Lexa now right?" I gasped still trying to gain full vision.

"Kind of, we just have to figure out how." Ashton said pulling out the book. He still seemed annoyed. I began to stand but fell down again being caught by Michael and Cal.

"Having my soul taken twice in one day is making me unstable." I laughed.

"Well then bad news because it has to be taken once more." Ashton said seriously.

"What?" I cried.

"The book says all the souls must be put together, the old souls lights must be crushed and the new ones have to be placed over the correct body." He looked at me pale in the face.

"Ashton she's already unstable, putting all the souls together what if you crush the wrong one, you cod kill her, or both of them." Michael held me tighter.

"Michael, this is what we do." Luke said. "We find and crush the bad souls to sace the new ones, we'll be careful, i promise." Michael and Cal looked reluctant but silently nodded their head in agreeance. "Good, now go get Madisons body so we can do this."

"Wouldnt it be easier for me to go to her or to me, whatever wont it be easier that way?" God i was so confused.

"Yeah, lets go." Cal said leading the way to the tree house. The thought of seeing my own dead body scared me but it didnt sink in until i was actually there. I looked pale, and more than i already was. I was cuddling with Fredrick, Lexa must've done that.

"Alright lay next to her or you." Ashton directed. I layed next to myself and felt awkward but knowing me best friend was in there made it ok. I grabbed my hand and my body was below freezing. "Im sorry my love." Ashton said before removing my soul one last time. I saw the glowing ball then another and another and another. Mary Beths was red and Susie's was pink. Mine being Teal and Lexa's green seperated the new from the old easily. My eyes closed and it was dark i was no longer in Lexa's body but i wasnt in mine. I felt like i was falling, drifting away from the darkness. This felt different than the first time. As i fell back i saw Lexa's body pass mine, they must have put our souls together.

"Maddy?!" She screamed with tears in her eyes.

"Lex!" I called back grabbing her hand. I pulled her towards me and hugged her tight. When i let go she kept floating up as i felt down.

"Where are you going?" She called and i could hear the fear.

"I dont know, but dont worry, we'll be together soon." I smiled. I hope. As i fell the lighting changed. What was once black was now a bright white light.
