I could barely see a few feet ahead as I sprinted through the pitch-black night. "Oh my god, I have to tell the police!" I whispered, my voice trembling with panic. Footsteps echoed behind me, growing louder with each passing second. Exhaustion clawed at me, my breaths coming in ragged gasps, but I pushed myself to keep going. Glancing back, I saw them closing in, their shadows looming larger. Desperately, I tried to pick up speed, but suddenly, I was tackled to the ground. Struggling against my attacker, I looked up to see the other two standing over us. "Please, let me go! I didn't see anything!" I screamed, my voice breaking with fear.
I heard one of the guys step closer, his presence looming over us. "We know you're lying," he said coldly. "We saw you looking our way."
I shook my head frantically, my voice trembling. "N-no, no, I didn't! I was just watching a cat race across the street. Please, I swear, I didn't see anything!"
The third guy stepped forward, his patience clearly worn thin. "Enough of this," he muttered darkly. "Just knock her out already."
My eyes widened in terror as I shook my head desperately. "No, plea—" I began, but before I could finish, a sharp pain exploded in my head. The world spun violently, and everything went dark.
I jolt awake, panting and drenched in sweat. Wiping my face, I sigh deeply before dragging myself out of bed. Grabbing some clothes, I head to the shower, hoping the water will wash away the remnants of my nightmare. Once I'm ready, I step out of my bedroom and find Aunt Jenna and Elena talking.
"Where is Jeremy?" Elena asks.
"He left early. Something about getting to woodshop early so he could finish a birdhouse," she replies.
Elena and I share a look, then look back at Jenna. She sighed in defeat, slowly turning towards us. "There is no woodshop, is there?" She questions.
We both shake our heads. "Nope," I answer.
"Yeah, okay," Jenna replied, slowly nodding and walking off.

After class, Evelyn stepped into the bustling hallway, the sound of lockers slamming and students chattering filling the air. She spotted Caroline and Bonnie near the lockers, their faces lighting up as they saw her. Together, they began walking through the crowded corridor, weaving between groups of students.
"Hey guys," she said, walking up to them.
Caroline excitedly looked over to Evelyn. "Hey, Eve!"
While Bonnie calmly smiled. "Hey."
Then they continued their conversation. "Bonnie, I'm confused. are you psychic or clairvoyant?" Caroline asked.
"Technically, Grams says I'm a witch. My ancestors were these really cool Salem witch chicks or something. Grams tried to explain it all, but she was looped on the liquor," Bonnie says, rolling her eyes, "So I kind of tuned out. Crazy family, yes, witches, I don't think so."
"Yeah, well, feel free to conjure up the name and number of the guy from last night," Caroline smiles.
"Ooh, what guy?" Evelyn questions, interested.
"Caroline says she saw a guy at the grill who looked interested in her, but I didn't see anyone," Bonnie answers.
"Did you talk to him?" She asks.
"No, I was drunk," Caroline uttered.
"Hey Bonnie, can I talk to you for a moment? It won't take long." Evelyn questions.
