There's a big storm coming, so I close the windows to my room and lock them. The one time I actually want my windows open, I have to close them because of a storm. I hear a knock, and Elena opens my door.

"Hey, what's up?" I ask. And I notice her mouth hanging open.

"Um, I, uh..." she trails off.

"Oh, sorry," I nervously chuckle as I hide the blood bag away. I clear my throat. "So what's up?" I question.

"Um, sorry, I was, uh, just checking if all the windows were closed," she says.

"Oh. Yeah, they're closed." I nod. As she is about to leave my room, I grab the blood bag, but she turns back around, and I quickly hide it away again.

"You don't have to hide it from me. It's just that I forgot, and it...surprised me," she says.

"Okay, let me know if you still need time. I just don't want to make you uncomfortable," I tell her. She walks over to me and grabs my hands.

"You will never make me uncomfortable, okay?" I nod, smiling at her. I hug her, and she hugs me back. I snuggle into her shoulder, and she strokes my head before pulling away. "Good night," she says before walking to the door.

"Good night." I smile.

We're at the boarding house, watching Damon nail up a wooden board to cover the window. "I say we go to Pearl's, bust down the door, and annihilate the idiot that attacked us last night," he says.

"Yeah. And then what? We turn to the rest of that house of vampires and say, 'Oops. Sorry?'" Stefan rhetorically asks.

"I can't believe you made a deal with her," Elena says.

"It was more like a helpful exchange of information. Not like I had a choice. She's..." he trails off.

I laugh in realization. "You're scared of her." He turns to look at me.

"If you had met her, you would be scared," he says.

"I'm not saying I wouldn't be scared of her." I raise my hands in surrender. "I'm just surprised to see you scared of someone." I chuckle, shaking my head.

"Besides, she's gonna help me get Kathrine back," he ignores me.

Elena scoffs. "Of course, she is. Damon gets what he wants, as usual. No matter who he hurts in the process," she says, annoyed, rolling her eyes.

"You don't have to be snarky about it," Damon tells her.

"I woke up this morning to learn that all the vampires have been released from the tomb. I've earned snarky," she says as she takes a few steps forward, and Damon walks around to sit in the armchair.

"Uh, how long are you going to blame me for turning your birth mother into a vampire? I mean, Evelyn's not mad, are you?" He questions.

"Not really. I mean, I don't even know the woman," I answer his question, and he points at me.

"I'm not blaming you, Damon. I've accepted the fact that you're a self-serving psychopath with no redeeming qualities that Evelyn hasn't even realized yet," she replies as she keeps taking steps closer to him and I roll my eyes.

"Ouch," Damon says, pretending to be hurt.

"And don't side with him," she says, looking at me.

"I'm not siding with anyone. I'm just telling the truth." I shrug.

"This isn't being very productive," Stefan speaks up. "We're gonna figure out a way to deal with Pearl and the vampires, yeah?" Stefan asks. We all watch as Damon gets up from the armchair and walks away.
