I stare at my phone, contemplating if I should try to call Bonnie. I sigh as I get up from my bed. I walk downstairs and go outside to see Elena sitting on the porch swing with her phone to her ear, leaving a message.
"We miss you here. Don't let your aunt drive you too crazy." She chuckles. I look over to see Aunt Jenna walk up the steps. "Come home soon. Love you." She hangs up.
"What are you guys doing out here? It's cold," she says, chuckling.
"I just came out here to see what Elena was doing," I reply.
"Thinking, writing," Elena answers. "The funeral for Bonnie's grandma...it brought back a lot about mom and dad," she replies, and I nod in agreement. "I was wondering. You said you would do some digging about them...the adoption," Elena says.
"Right." Jenna nods.
"So did you? Dig?" Elena asks.
Jenna nods. "Come on inside," she gestures with her head, Elena gets up, and we follow behind her. We get inside, and she sits down at the table, putting her laptop in front of her. "Your dad kept everything from his medical practice. Records, logs, and old appointment books." She takes out a book from the box that was beside her. "I found an entry from the night you guys were born. Patient and birth date. Isobel Peterson," she tells us.
"Do you think that's her real name?" I ask her.
"Pregnant teenage runaway? Probably not. First name, maybe. But where'd she get Peterson? Classmate? Best friend?" She types on her laptop. "So I binged it. I searched for all the Petersons in this area. Born the same year as Isobel, found three. Two men...and a woman...Trudie, who lived in Grove Hill, Virginia," she informs.
"That's not far from here." Elena shakes her head.
"Well, watch this." She types again, and pictures of graduates from 1993 pop up. A picture of two girls, one blonde and a brunette, together in cheerleading outfits with their names on the bottom.
"Isobel." Elena smiles, looking at the picture. "She was a cheerleader." She chuckles, looking between me and Jenna. I smile at her, looking at the picture.
"Trudie still lives there," Jenna tells us. She picks up a sticky note and hands it to Elena. "This is her address."
"What about Isobel?" Elena questions. I grab the sticky note to look at it.
"I couldn't find anything about her," Jenna answers. Elena sits down. "Listen. There's something else." I look up from the sticky note and take a seat next to Elena. "Mr. Saltzman, Rick, his wife was from around here...and her name was also Isobel," Jenna informs, and I furrow my eyebrows.
"Wait. 'Was,' as in..." Elena trails off.
"She died, didn't she?" I ask and Jenna looks between us before nodding.
"Yeah, she died," she says with sympathy. I look at Elena to see her staring down at the address in her hand.

"Alaric's wife might have been your mother?" Stefan asks, looking between me and Elena. Elena sighs as she puts her clothes away.
"It can't be true, right? I mean, the coincidence alone is just crazy." Elena shrugs before turning around to show him the sticky note. "I have the address for her friend Trudie," she tells Stefan.
"You wanna talk to her?" Stefan asks, crossing his arms over his chest.
"I don't know, I...I-I don't know." She sighs, walking over to hang her jacket up.
