"Evelyn, it's your turn again," Stefan says, his eyes fixed on the twister spin board. "Let's see what you've got."

I look at the girls with bite marks on them and shake my head. "I'm good. I'm bored now," I reply, my voice filled with boredom.

"Suit yourself." Stefan shrugs, spinning the spinner. "Uh-oh. Alexandra. Left hand, please." The girl obediently gets up, holding her wrist to Stefan. Stefan takes it biting into it, taking a sip before releasing her.

"Hey, the two brunettes on the staircase owe me a Persian rug," Damon says, walking into the living room.

"Oops," I reply nonchalantly.

"You mean, they owe us a Persian rug?" Stefan asks, furrowing his eyebrows. "It's my house too, brother. Ooh! Would you like a spin?" He holds out the spinner, a playful smirk on his face.

"So this is what Klaus had in mind when he compelled you two to protect Elena?" He questions.

"Oh, Klaus didn't compel me," I say, shrugging nonchalantly. A knock sounds at the door, and Damon goes to answer it.

"Where's Eve and Stefan?" Rebekah demands, her voice stern.

"Who the hell are you?" Damon asks, but Rebekah ignores him, walking past him.

"Bekah, what are you doing here?" I ask, my voice filled with surprise.

"He left me here. My brother actually left me here," she replies, her voice filled with disbelief.

"Oh, I'm sorry; your tone implies that I'm actually supposed to care," Stefan says.

"You're Klaus' sister?" Damon questions.

"Rebekah. Pleasure, I'm sure." She tells him before turning back to us. "Which one's my room?"

Stefan chuckles. "You're not staying here," he says, grinning. Rebekah turns to me, hopeful, but I just shrug.

"Rude. All of you. I'll see to it myself," she mutters, storming upstairs.

"So I guess she's staying here," Stefan says.

"Thought you'd be at school, protecting Elena, like the hybrid commanded?" Damon sneered as he walked into Evelyn's room.

"Oh, Stefan's with her," Evelyn replied, her tone nonchalant.

"And that's supposed to make me feel better?" Damon scoffed.

"He won't hurt her. He might annoy her, but Klaus compelled him to follow orders, and those orders included protecting her. If I believed Stefan would hurt her, I'd be at school right now." She tries to storm out of the room, but he grabs her arm, stopping her in her tracks.

"Where are you going?" He demanded.

"To the school. Or maybe you'd like me to go somewhere else? Mars, perhaps?" She said, rolling her eyes.

"Evelyn," he said, his voice a bit softer.

She sighed, rolling her eyes. "What?"

"Why did you have to do it? Why did you have to save me?" He asked, his voice filled with despair.

She looks up at him. "Because when I heard you were dying, I realized how much I love you. Even though we weren't together that long. I couldn't just sit back and do nothing. You were dying, Damon."

"And that cost yours and Stefan's freedom."

"I'd rather lose my freedom than lose you," she replied, her voice filled with conviction.
