Someone's phone rings, making me groan and push Elena off the bed.

"Hello." She answers the phone.

"Elena!" Caroline whines, while me and Bonnie shushes her.

"Good." She chuckles. "Much needed. When can you and I have one?"

"Quit with the lovey-dovey stuff; I'm trying to sleep," I grumble, then turn to hug Caroline.

"Okay, so tell us about this big witchy plan you've been cooking up," Caroline says as both she and Evelyn sit down at Bonnie's table.

"We still don't know the extent of what Elijah's up to," Bonnie replies.

"No, we don't." Caroline shakes her head.

"So, I'm gonna ask Luka to tell me what he knows." Bonnie nods.

"He's not gonna tell you just because you ask him." Evelyn shakes her head.

"I didn't say he was gonna have a choice." Bonnie smiles, and Caroline looks off behind Bonnie.

"What..." Bonnie and Evelyn turn to see Matt slow to a stop before walking away. "Was that about?"

"Uh, I don't know. I thought we were... I don't know," Caroline says sadly.

"You want me to talk to him?" Evelyn asks, making both Caroline and Bonnie give her a knowing look.

"By talk to him, do you mean threaten him and then compel him to forget?" Caroline asks.

"What? No, I...okay, never mind," Evelyn says, making Bonnie and Caroline laugh.

"It's okay; I'll try talking to him later." Caroline smiles gratefully. "We just need to focus on the plan with Luka."

"I'm sorry, but why did you bring me along?" Evelyn questions, leaning her head on her hand.

"You said you wanted fries, so I brought you with me," Caroline explains.

"Oh yeah." She smiles, but her smile quickly drops, looking confused. "Where are my fries?"

"You ate them already." Caroline laughs. "You were zoning out while eating them."

"Oh." She lets out an embarrassed laugh. "Okay. Well, I'm gonna go home and take a nap or something. Good luck with Matt. And the witchy thing with Luka? Are you sure you guys don't need my help?" Evelyn questions.

"I'm sure," Bonnie replies, nodding.

"Okay, just text me if you need anything," Evelyn tells them, and they both nod.

"Oh, hey guys, what are you doing?" I ask Stefan and Elena as I close the door behind me.

"We're going to the lake house," Elena answers. "Do you—" I cut her off.

"And be a third wheel? No thanks." I shake my head. "You two have fun."

"Ready for our romantic weekend?" Stefan questions.

"I'm beyond ready." Elena chuckles. "Let's go before John shows up and pretends to be a concerned father."

"You know what? I forgot he was here. I'll probably stay at Carolines." Elena's phone goes off.

"Mm. I'll go put these in the car." Stefan grabs the bags, but stops and turns to her. "Please tell me there's nothing wrong." Elena replies to the text.
