Evelyn

"How is it?" I hear Rose ask as Elena and I get closer to the living room.

"Definitely better. Right, Evelyn?" Damon questions when we walk in. My eyes widen when I see the werewolf bite. Elena nudges my arm when I don't answer.

"Yeah...much better." I nod when Rose turns to look at us.

"Where's stefan?"

"He left. I need you to talk to him. He's convinced that he has to find Isobel. But I think that's going to upset Elijah," Elena tells him.

"No can do. I'm with Stefan on this one. But if you could play nurse for a little while."

"It's not necessary." Rose shakes her head.

"It is necessary. Elena's a do-gooder. It's in her nature. She just can't resist. And Evleyn loves helping her sister," Damon says as he walks past us, and I quickly follow after him.

"Damon. There has to be something in Isobel's research about a werewolf bite. We can't just give up—" He cuts me off.

"There's nothing else we can do, Evelyn. Death happens. We come, we go. The sooner she dies, the better." He sighs. "Stay here with your sister; I'll be back later, okay?"

"Okay." I nod

"I hate this. I'm a vampire. I haven't had a cold in five centuries," Rose says as Evelyn helps walk her into Damon's room with Elena behind them.

"Just get in bed," Elena tells her as she helps her take off her sweater. As Elena and Rose talk, Evelyn looks around Damon's room.

"We don't get sick. When we die, it's fast and sudden. And it's certainly not drawn out with an illness," Rose says as she lays down and covers herself.

"You're not going to die," Elena replies.

"Such a human thing to say." Rose smiles. "You've never been in Damon's room before, have you?" Rose inquires as Evelyn picks up a book. "Not what you expected?"

"Honestly, I don't even know what I was expecting." Evelyn chuckles.

"It's just a room with a bed," Elena interjects, sitting on the edge of the bed. "Maybe I expected there to be silk sheets," she adds. Meanwhile, Evelyn's phone vibrates. She reaches into her pocket to see Nathaniel calling.

"I'll be right back; I got to answer this." Elena Nods. "Hey, Nathaniel. What's up?"

"I'm sorry for calling you all of a sudden; it's just..." His voice wavers. "I didn't know who else to call."

"What's wrong?" Concern lacing her voice.

"He found out where I live," he spits out, his voice frantic. "I-I don't know what to do. I barely got away from him."

"Who, Nathan? Who found out where you lived?" Nathaniel takes a deep breath.

Nathaniel's voice cracks as he answers, "My father."

"Okay, text me where you're at, and I'll head over there, okay?"

"Okay." I hang up and head back into the room.

"What's wrong?" Elena asks when she sees Evelyn's worried expression. She looks at her phone to see a text from Nathaniel.

"It's Nathaniel; he's in trouble. Will you be okay if—" Elena cuts her off.

"Go, I'll be fine." She nods.

"Okay, call me if anything happens." Elena nods before Evelyn vamps to her car.
