Family sickness follows

Chapter 20

Zayn had been admitted to Clover ward after having some preliminary tests run on him. He woke up groaning as his head was pulsating and making him feel nauseous. A dr was reviewing him and gave him more medicine to help relieve the pain and a bowl to throw up in. Zayn shut his eyes and wished someone was there to massage his temples. He knew his wife needed to be with Katie and his mum was looking after his eldest. He decided to give rest a go again for now. Zayn managed to drift off to sleep when the medicine kicked in. The dr asked a nurse to stay with Zayn and went to the receptionist desk to answer the call from Tricia and update her on Zayn. The nurse checked on him during his sleep and put wet clothes on his forehead to help with the migraines. Zayn slept for about an hour before waking up again still in pain but not as intense as before.

"How you feeling?" the nurse asked. "Hurts but not as much," Zayn says. "That's good, unfortunately you can't have any more pain relief yet." The nurse says. Zayn sighs and nods. "Hope I manage without them, then" he says and closes his eyes but doesn't go to sleep. The nurse nodded and waited for the time Zayn could have another dose of medicine. Zsyn slept for another half hour before waking up very nauseous and dizzy. The dr helped him by turning him on his side and holding the bowl in case he threw up. Zayn did throw up and groaned as he felt very dizzy and faint. The dr acted quickly and upped the medicine he was giving Zayn. He decided to call the hospital for more specialised tests to be run on Zayn in their neurology department. He then updated Gemma about the last events and his decision.

Gemma sighed but nodded as she knew it was the best for her husband. "Can my mother in law come in for a bit to be with Katie?" Gemma asked. "Sure, she can" the dr said. Gemma texted Tricia updating her on Zayn. Tricia told her she would be there after having dinner with Michael and telling him about Zayn.

Michael got on the bus back to his nan's where he was staying. He soon rang the doorbell and Tricia got up to let him in. "Hi Mikey, I have dinner ready. Are you hungry?" Tricia asked as she walked into the kitchen to heat their food before sitting with him. She was trying to think of a way to tell Mikey the news about his dad she got earlier from Gemma and that she was asked to go and be with Katie for a while.

"Thanks nan, how are dad and Katie?" Mikey said as he sat at the table. "Not good, they are having to take your dad to hospital so your mum wants me to sit with Katie for a bit. Katie is having trouble with her intolerance because of someone messing up with the feeds." Tricia said. Mikey sighed. "Should I go to my grandad's and stay with him and Liam meanwhile? I really don't want to stay alone" Mikey asked. "Of course." Tricia said.

Tricia rang Robin who picked up. "Hey Tricia, everything ok?" Robin asked. "Not great, can I drop Mikey round to you as I need to sit with Katie on Clover ward, while Gemma goes to hospital with Zayn?" Tricia said. "Of course you can, is Zayn ok?" Robin asks. "Not great, his migraines have gotten really bad since having the bug and he keeps feeling dizzy and fainting. Are you at yours or at Harry and Lou's place with Li?" Tricia said. "Sorry to hear about it. Hope he gets better soon. We are at Crystal Lace, at Hazz and Lou's place. Drop him here before you go upstairs to Clover ward." Robin said. "Thanks so much" Tricia said before saying bye and telling Mikey that's where he was going. "Just dropping Mikey with Robin at Haz and Lou's place then I will come down to the ward" Tricia messaged her daughter in law before they got in the car and went on their way.

They soon arrived at Clover Lace and parked up and headed up to Harry and Louis's flat. They knocked on the door and Robin opened it. "Hey come in, Li is already asleep, he is ok, just exhausted from everything," Robin said. Mikey nodded and walked in and went and sat on the sofa. "Send Katie and Zayn my regards," Robin said to Tricia. "Thanks, will do. How are Haz and Lou doing?" Tricia asked, "Not good. Haz is on Clover ward really suffering. He is staying with Anne. And Lou is still in hospital after complications with appendicitis and the bug," he sighed. "I'm sorry to hear, hopefully they will all be home soon, I've got to go so Gem can go with Zayn." Tricia said, calling out bye to Mikey. Mikey called back out bye from the lounge.
