Chapter 36

House of Daena

2 months later

Alhaitham woke up getting ready for the day, since it was a day off, Alhaitham decided to go to the House of Daena.

Once he got there, he decided to read books and sat down in a study table reading them.

Suddenly Faruzan showed up with Nilou and went over to Alhaitham immediately.

"Alhaitham!" Faruzan shouted walking over not caring if it was a library or not, she was a senior after all, no one would dare be rude or they would get a tough lecture. Alhaitham looked up from his book shutting it, "yes?" Alhaitham asked as he saw Nilou walk behind Faruzan.

"Ah, Madame Faruzan I can ask myself-" "no it's OK, I doubted you even knew where to find this bookworm." Faruzan said sitting down at the table. "do you need anything?" Alhaitham asked confused for why they came to him. "Nilou needs your help finding a book about dance." Faruzan explained. "yes, it's because Im going to do a performance soon, but I don't exactly know the type of dance I was supposed to do, so I want to study on it." Nilou explained taking a seat, knowing Alhaitham would be the best person to ask this since he would always be in the House of Daena when he wasn't working.

"I'm not much of an expert in that area however, I assume it's in the fine arts section, so, head there." Alhaitham said opening his book again. "yes! Thank you!" Nilou exclaimed, smiling brightly walking away.

"now, to find the fine arts section!" Nilou thought brightly until, "wait..." Nilou mumbled stopping in her tracks. "where... WHERE EVEN IS THE FINE ARTS SECTIONS?!" Nilou whisper screamed freaking out. "I can't ask Alhaitham again! It's too embarrassing, I'll just find it myself!" Nilou whispered to herself, regaining her composure.

It took her 3 hours to find the book.

Alhaitham just continued sitting reading for the next few hours until suddenly he finally had the urge to eat lunch.

"what's a good place to eat at..?" Alhaitham mumbled walking around. "oh, puspa café is here, guess I'll go there, after that... I'll head to port ormos." Alhaitham mumbled planning out his day, walking towards port Ormos.

Once Alhaitham finished he left to port Ormos to just take a stroll.

"Y-Yae Miko...?" said a voice of a female. Alhaitham continued walking but noticed where the voice was coming from, Layla was up ahead talking to the Head shrine maiden of the Grand Naurukami Shrine.

"hm?" Alhaitham made a sound curious but continued walking forward towards them.

"Well, if it isn't Little Layla? How are you? Actually, where's our dear friends, you still do have your friend right? Twirly Whirly if I remember correctly, I mean it would be strange if I didn't remember, I'm a fox envoy, so my memory is sharp." Yae giggled.

"great! Twirly Whirly is also doing well! I hope you have a good time visiting!" Layla said happily being a little more lively than usually.

"oh, and if it isn't Alhaitham..! Are you looking for a certain blonde?" Yae smirked slyly. "no, wait- Kavehs here?" said Alhaitham completely forgetting Layla was there not knowing Kaveh was alive. "Kaveh...?" Layla mumbled confused "didn't he...?" Layla mumbled once more trying to put 2 and 2 together. "uh- oh no..." Alhaitham whispered. "she doesn't know he's alive..." Alhaitham thought knowing he messed up.

"oh well, cats out of the bag, he actually went to the House of Daena searching for you, knowing you'd might be there." Yae smiled.

"thank you, I'll be taking my leave." Alhaitham said not wanting to further the awkwardness.

"Wait! I-I mean... Can I come..? Is he really...?" Layla said, even though they never talked to much, when someone leaves it still hurts. Alhaitham simply nodded.

The 2 hurried towards the House of Daena, knowing Kavehs patience, he'd be confused on where Alhaitham was and a bit exhausted.

Once they got there they saw Nilou talking with Kaveh, of course, Kavehs an idiot simply waltzing somewhere where many people are completely forgetting that to everybody, you're dead.

"Kaveh...?!"Nilou exclaimed hugging Kaveh. Kaveh on the other hand was quite happy, but felt terrible knowing Nilou knew nothing that he was alive. "I missed you..?" Kaveh said confused not knowing what to say. Nilou started to tear up knowing one of her fond friends was there even after being gone for years. "That bastard...! Where are you Alhaitham?! this is hard...! What should I say?" Kaveh thought knowing he'd kill Alhaitham next time they saw each other.

"Kaveh!" Alhaitham waved with Layla to get Kavehs attention. Kaveh turned around. "ALHAITHAM! SAVE MEEEE!" Kaveh thought pulling out of the hug turning around to say hi to Alhaitham.

"Kaveh!" Layla exclaimed hugging Kaveh. "oh no... Not this again!" Kaveh thought. Immediately Kaveh turned around to face Alhaitham signaling to help him. "Ah, Kaveh, how come you came to Sumeru?" asked Alhaitham catching Kavehs signal. "Ah, well because I'm getting inspiration for my book, and because I have a surprise! And, I told you to visit but... I realized I don't have this thing called patience." Kaveh exclaimed smiling a little slyly.

"also, I'm staying at your place." Kaveh imposed on Alhaitham pulling away from the hug pointing at Alhaitham. Alhaitham got a little annoyed, but, he didn't mind.

"well what are you waiting for? Let's go do TCG with Cyno, and Tighnari!" Kaveh grinned grabbing Alhaithams hand running out. Alhaitham smiled at the bright blonde.

"byee! Wait a minute... Weren't you searching for a book 3 hours ago Nilou?" Lady stopped realizing Nilou was still in the House of Daena. "yes, and I found it after 3 hours..!" Nilou smiled painfully pointing at the book.
