Chapter 37

Holding hands

Before Alhaitham and Kaveh met up with Tighnari and Cyno Alhaitham convinced Kaveh to unpack first while he would ask Tighnari and Cyno to meet up at the bar.

"hey, Alhaitham before you leave for the Avidya Forest, I can sleep in my original room right?" Kaveh asked moving through the house with his bags. Alhaitham looked at Kaveh realizing Kaveh seemed to be sleepy since he only arrived awhile ago and seemed to be awake the entire time on the boat ride.

"yes you can, I'm going now, I'll be back in around 2 hours. Bye." Alhaitham said blandly opening the front door stepping out and closing the door. Kaveh walked into his old room noticing his room hadn't changed much, Kaveh unpacked his bags seeing a letter.

"I have to hide this from Alhaitham!" Kaveh exclaimed since it was a surprise for him. Kaveh after unpacking felt bored and sat on his bed. "hmm..... What should I do..?" Kaveh mumbled playing with his red clips. "I'll do my hair, it's a bit messy." Kaveh got up walking to the bathroom to look at the mirror.

He began doing his hair into a braid but failed miserably. "why is it so hard to make a stupid braid! I wish Haitham was here..!" Kaveh thought while pouting making a pony tail instead.

Kaveh after that sat down contemplating on what to do. "AHA!" Kaveh exclaimed figuring out what to do. Kaveh ran over to Alhaithams library checking the books. "this one looks interesting." Kaveh said taking a book, opening it. After a good 5 minutes Kaveh realized it was the most BORING THING HE HAD EVER READ ON EARTH. which made sence. It was a history book.

"uggghhhh...! What should I do?!" Kaveh groaned lying on the sofa staring at the roof. Kaveh suddenly got up heading to the kitchen "Time to bake!" Kaveh thought preparing everything needed. After making cookie mix in a bowl he shaped it like... Aranara!

"so cute..!" Kaveh squeaked. Putting them in the oven. After that Kaveh stood there realizing once again, he had nothing to do. Then, an idea sparked. Back when Kaveh and Alhaitham lived together, they played banjo's together once in awhile so Kaveh got a banjo and began playing it for fun.

"ding!" Kaveh ran towards the kitchen it had already been a good 2 hours since Alhaitham left and once Kaveh got into the kitchen he saw Alhaitham had the tray of Aranara cookies out on the counter and closed the oven door.

"Ah! Haitham, you're back! Are we gonna go now? Just lemme put the cookies in a jar." Kaveh exclaimed taking the metal tray in his hand forgetting they just came out of the oven. "Kaveh w-" Alhaitham said, but it was to late. "AAHHH! HOT! HOT!" Kaveh shouted dropping the tray. "I was about to pass you the mittens... " Alhaitham mumbled. Kaveh grabbed the mittens and picked up the tray dumping the cookies in a cookie jar.

"are you okay? Let me check." Alhaitham insisted grabbing Kavehs hands once Kaveh finished putting the cookies in the jar. "w-what are you doing..?" Kaveh blushed feeling Alhaithams cold hand on his. "checking if you got burned, luckily you didn't get a bad burn, it was just too hot." Alhaitham said about to take his hand away until Kaveh grabbed it.

"hm? Is something wrong?" Alhaitham asked noticing Kaveh was red. "l-l-l-lets... Go play TCG with Cyno and Nari!" Kaveh stuttered looking away after saying his sentence. Alhaitham smiled knowing Kaveh was quite flustered. "OK." Alhaitham said putting there hands down as he opened the front door with his free hand and Kaveh followed.

"t-this... Is what couples do right!?" Kaveh exclaimed while walking to the tavern still visibly blushing. Alhaitham was caught a bit off guard. "couples..? Since when did you get that idea?" Alhaitham asked a bit slyly. "W-W-WHAT... DO YOU MEAN..! I THOUGHT SINCE WE C-CONFESSED AND EVERYTHING-" Kaveh stuttered embarrassed. Alhaitham smiled at Kavehs cute, embarrassed reaction. "don't worry so much, it's a joke." Alhaitham said. "Ah... W-well! Youre b-bad at jokes!" Kaveh pouted trying to get back at Alhaitham.

"OK, sure," Alhaitham said looking ahead at Cyno and Tighnari who were waiting outside for them.

"Ah, finally! Hurry inside I really want to show off my new cards to Kaveh!" Cyno exclaimed. Tighnari noticed they were holding hands and smiled happily finally realizing that the 2 people that obviously liked each other were finally together. "well, took you long enough, honestly I was about to stop rooting for you 2 being a thing." Tighnari said grinning at Kaveh.

"s-shut up!" Kaveh shouted practically looking like a tomato.

"mmhm..." Tighnari said slyly. "well! Cmon! Let's go inside! I can't stay sober if I'm gonna have to deal with you guys!" Kaveh marched inside ready to order a bottle of wine. The 3 just laughed at Kavehs decision since he acted like a child even though he was the oldest.
