Chapter 6

"Cassie I've been where you are. I know how bad it is. I'm going to give you medicine to help ease the pain and I'm going to stay with you all night." Meadow said. I nodded and did everything she said. It was a very long night. The pain stopped coming around 4am and Meadow helped me shower and helped me get dressed.
"I owe you my life Meadow. Thank you for everything." I said quietly "can I make you something to eat? Then you can sleep here too before heading home?"
"I would love that. But can I sleep in the hanging chair thing? That thing is awesome." She asked. I laughed.
"Of course" I said "can I ask you a question?"
"Anytime Cassie" Meadow said. I liked her she was sweet.
"What do I do now? How do I live life without my mate?" I asked.
"Some get second chance mates. I got mine and I'm glad life happened the way it did. You're young Cassie, you're what 17? 18?" She asked.
"17 about to be 18." I said quietly.
"You're a little younger than my alpha. He's 21. If you ever need anything you come find me. My alpha can appear mean but he's a grizzly bear deep down. He puts on a front. If you come and find me I'll help you and so will he." Meadow said. I hugged her and thanked her before making her food. We both ate and then we slept. When we woke she was getting ready to leave. We said our goodbyes and I thanked her again.
"Just remember find me if you need me Cassie." Meadow said before leaving.

"It's time to get you out of here Cassie." Kartier said. So staff packed all of my belongings into the Jeep.
"We're giving you the jeep, Cassie. Staff will lead you to the apartment we bought for you it already has furniture and food. In the apartment is a safe, the code is in the glove box in the jeep, in the safe is a burner phone, new cell phone and money. Should be enough to keep you stable for awhile. Get a job, live your life Cassie. We'll visit after things settle a little. The burner phone is to contact us and the cell phone will be your new cell in the human world. Only call during emergencies or if you're in a bad headspace and need Zari, Jay or Jax or even myself to talk you through it." Kartier said. I nodded as I said goodbyes to everyone. I got in the jeep and I left following staff.

1 months and 29 days later

I had lived in the human world for almost 2 months. I work at a law firm as an assistant for a renowned lawyer. I make good money now, my apartment is cozy and I keep to myself. I haven't talked to Jay, Jax or anybody since I left. Kartier sent me a letter telling me they all miss me and love me and sending me an update on everything. Roland's dad passed away so now Roland is Alpha. He also told me of woods I can go to when I turn on my birthday. I turn 18 tomorrow and I'll turn tonight. I'm going to finish working then after head straight to the woods to turn. I'm terrified to do it alone but I'm used to being alone now.
"You're a good assistant Cassie. Thank you for everything you do." Kyle said. He's the lawyer I work for. "You can head out early since I'm leaving early, have a good weekend." I nodded. Before gathering my things, I checked the burner phone but there was no calls or texts. I would be able to grab food before heading there. I lived about 2 hours from my old pack and the woods was about an hour away close to the Obsidian Moon Pack, it was about 24 miles away from their pack. As I made my way to my jeep I got an uncomfortable feeling like someone was watching me but I continued to get into my jeep where I was safer. As I got in my passenger door opened causing me to jump but as I looked over I saw Jay and Jax jumping in. I hugged them both tightly.

"What're you doing here? You can't be here!" I said as they shut the doors.
"You're not going through a transformation alone Cass. It's not happening. We got permission from Kartier and Zari to come and be with you until your first transformation was over." Jax said. Jay smiled in the backseat.
"Well I'm glad you guys are here but you're putting yourself at risk here" I said.
"We know Cassie, we're not afraid. We've been transformed so when you do we will too and then we can run together while you ride out the first transformation. We can't let you do it alone because we couldn't do it alone." Jay said.
"Well if you guys aren't leaving, are you hungry?" I asked quietly.
"Very" the both said in unison. I laughed. I drove us all to my favorite Chinese restaurant. As we walked in they looked around in awe.
"Cassie! Back again? That's 3 times this week usually it's only 2" Bev, the waitress said. 
"Well you see Bev I have some friends who've never had Jacob's cooking and we can not have that. Plus what's an extra day of his cooking going to hurt?" I said smiling.
"No we can't have that nor can it hurt" Jacob appeared smiling. "Hey sunshine, long time no see."
"Jacob! I haven't seen you in a while 24 hours I thought I might die." I said sarcastically.

"I think it was me who was going to die plus I just got truck in so I need someone to eat all my food." Jacob said. I laughed.
"Jacob, Bev meet Jax and Jay." I said smiling.
"Bev and I met about a month and a half ago when I was grocery shopping and she told me to come try their food here so I did but I ordered the biggest plate of food a man had seen a woman make so Jacob came to meet me. Ever since I come here twice during the week and once on the weekends." I said. Everyone nodded and laughed cause I can eat the largest amount of food.
"Would you like your regular?" Bev asked.
"Yeah can they get the same as me?" I asked. Bev and Jacob turned to get on it.
"What did you just order us?" Jay asked.
"Ummm it's a platter with everything on it." I said laughing. They both laughed. We caught up and just chatted while waiting. When we got our food we dug in enjoying every bit. Then we tipped Bev graciously and headed out to the jeep and got in.
"That was amazing but I need a nap" Jay said.
"Me too" Jax said.
"Well you have an hour to nap. The woods is by Obsidian Moon Pack." I said. They nodded before dozing off. I just listened to music as I drove. I'm glad they're both here.
