Chapter 40

"Is it a bad idea?" I asked him concerned. I watched as he appeared lost in thought.
"No not at all. Instead of you being the lawyer, we could have Breck be the lawyer. He study law, he'd just have to pass the boards. Unless you wanted all of those responsibilities. I think you'd be good as a principal or doctor or both but I don't want to overwork you, gotta think of when we have kids too." He said smiling.
"Yeah we can do that, I just didn't wanna put work off on anyone else." I said.
"Brecken would love it, he needs more to do throughout the week." He said with a small laugh. There was a knock at our bedroom door, I went and opened the door while Zeke loaded the plates in the dishwasher. When I opened the door I saw Brecken and Jay.
"We were just talking about you and then bam here you are" I said looking at Brecken.
"What'd I do?" He asked confused.
"Nothing, we can talk about it later. I just had an idea for all of us for the future." I said smiling "what's up though? Everything okay?"
"Our parents just pulled in." Brecken said as I felt Zekes arms wrap around my waist. I smiled nervously. I looked to Jay to see if it was just me, she looked racked with anxiety. I shot her the best reassuring smile I could muster up. I couldn't tell who was more nervous, Jay or Brecken.

"We'll be down in a moment. If anything makes you uncomfortable Jay, you find me. Brecken or Cassie. You both can come to us with anything." He said with a slight smile. She nodded and they walked towards the stairs.
"You ready?" He asked me.
"I'm a little nervous because everyone else seems to be nervous." I said with a nervous laugh.
"There's no need to be, I don't see how they couldn't love you." He said before leaning down and kissing me. His words made me feel better. I looked at him, he was wearing black slacks and a black button top but he had left the top 2 buttons undone. He looked so attractive. The outfit with his black hair made his blue eyes pop.
"You look... handsome as ever" I said looking up at his face.
"Not as good as you baby. I could never compare to your beauty." He said smiling.
"God I love you so much" I said with a sigh of pleasure.
"I love you more mi amore." He said. I stood on my tippy toes the best I could in these heels and kissed his cheek.
"Never could be possible" I whispered quietly. He smiled before taking my hand as we walked down the stairs. When we reached the bottom I saw his parents talking to Brecken and Jay. Everyone turned to face us, Zeke's father looked like an older Zeke with brown hair like Brecken and his mother looked like Brecken with black hair like Zeke. Both the men were a perfect mix of both their parents.

Their mother walked over and hugged Zeke before turning to me.
"I'm Marcelina but you can call me Marcie. You must be Cassiopeia." She said as she hugged me. Her actions through me off balance a bit.
"Please call me Cassie, I hate my full name." I said with a smile.
"You're already sounding like my stubborn son" she said with a small chuckle.
"It's a pleasure to meet you. I definitely will take that as a compliment because you're son is the most amazing person I've ever met" I said smiling at Zeke. He smiled back.
"Well I like you and Jay already." She said. Zeke walked over and hugged his father.
"I'm Thaddeus but please call me Thad" he said with a smile.
"It's very nice to meet you both." I said smiling. They both looked up the stairs confused so I turned to see what they were looking at. I saw Kyla at the top of the stairs and I stuck my hand out for her. She smiled lightly and walked down to me grabbing my hand.
"This is Kyla, she's 13. We found her in another pack, she was an orphan so we took her in. Kyla, this is Zeke and Brecken's parents. Thad and Marcie." I said smiling.
"It's very nice to meet you both" Kyla said smiling.
"As it is to meet all of you." Marcie said.

My phone began to ring so I pulled it out of the hidden pockets in my dress and looked at the screen. Meadow was calling so I stepped away to answer.
"Hello?" I answered confused on why she'd be calling.
"Cassie, I need your help and I need it to be discreet. I only want you and Zeke to know." She said sounding frantic.
"What's going on?" I asked concerned.
"Emiliano went on a patrol with Stetson and they were attacked by some rogues about 5 miles from here. I can't focus on Stetson because I'm worried about Emiliano but I can't focus on Emiliano because he's my husband. They managed to make the 5 miles back to the pack but I need help with Emiliano and Stetson and we need people to guard the pack in case they were followed." She said quickly. My brain scrambled to keep up.
"I'll be there soon, let me talk to Zeke and I will have to tell Brecken but ill be there soon." I said reassuringly.
"Please hurry" she said before hanging up. I walked back to the crowd at the bottom of the stairs.
"Zeke, Brecken can I have a word in private please?" I asked looking at Zeke so he knew it was serious. Everyone looked at me confused except Zeke, he was worried.

"Excuse us for just a second" Zeke said as he and Brecken made their way towards me. We all 3 walked onto the back patio and I turned to look at them.
"What's going on? Are you okay?" Zeke said, looking at me seriously.
"I'm okay but Emiliano and Truett are not and Meadow needs my help." I said.
"What happened?" Brecken finally spoke up.
"Emiliano went on a patrol with Truett, they were about 5 miles away from pack borders and they were attacked by rogues. They made it the 5 miles back but are unsure if they were followed. I need to go help Meadow treat Emiliano so she can focus on Truett." I said.
"Okay, go help Meadow. Brecken and I will set another patrol line with more men and sweep a mile out from pack borders. I'll have Jay and Kyla stay with my parents." Zeke said.
"I'll head to let Jay and Kyla know. Be careful Cass." Brecken said.
"You too Breck." I said as he left.
"Please be careful. Mindlink if you need help. I love you Cassie." Zeke said.
"You be careful. I love you and if you guys need me, I think I've proven to be very helpful. Please mindlink." I said as I stood to kiss him.
"We will baby. Now go hurry, they need you." He said and I nodded as I ran through backyards until I reached meadows back door.
