Chapter 22

We paid and left Jacob and Bev a really good tip. Zeke opened the passenger door and helped me get in before getting in on the drivers side. We ran to the store nearby and grabbed everything we needed for everyone who needed to go to my apartment. When we were done we loaded the stuff in the car and headed towards my apartment. When we arrived at my apartment we grabbed all of the stuff out of the car, I lived on the bottom floor so it was easy to carry it all in. When we got inside I began to put everything away and pick up a little bit so it was clean when everyone came. Zeke wandered around while I picked up before coming back to the kitchen where I was.
"How long did you live here?" He asked.
"Not long" I said quietly.
"It's small but cute" he said smiling.
"It's livable that's all I cared about" I said looking past him sadly as I remembered the day I had to run away to this place. I don't regret any of it though because if none of it happened I would've never met Zeke, I smiled at that thought. Suddenly Zeke wrapped his arms around my waist snapping me back to reality.
"You okay my love?" He asked looking at me.
"Yeah just got lost in thought is all" I said quietly.
"Do you want to talk about it?" He asked me not removing his eyes from me.
"No it's okay, I'm just glad I met you" I said smiling as I met his gaze. I suddenly felt the urge to be closer to him, without another thought I pressed my lips to his passionately. He deepened the kiss even more. Before I knew it we were both naked and he was inside of me on the kitchen counter but this time was different. This time it was more than the need of the mate bond, it was pure love and passion. We went on like this for an hour before we finally orgasmed together.

When we both managed to catch our breath, Zeke looked at me meeting my gaze.
"I'm so in love with you Cassie. I hope you never leave." He said quietly almost sadly.
"I'm in love with you Zeke. I'm not going anywhere unless you tell me too" I said quietly in response. I leaned forward and kissed him softly. He helped me off the counter and got himself dressed. I walked to the bedroom and found a pair of my favorite sweatpants and my Bon Jovi shirt and put it on. I dug through my closet and grabbed clothes I like packing them in a bag, then I ran through the house finding stuff I wanted to take with me. When I was done, Zeke helped me carry the stuff to the car. We locked up the apartment on our way out and we loaded the car and got in. We headed back to the pack house, as we got closer Zeke looked to me concerned.
"What?" I said curiously. I saw him stare as if he were mindlinking with someone and suddenly I felt the pull. I was pulled into the mindlink.
'Roland is at the gate and wants to speak to you and Luna Cassie' Stetson said.
'For what' I mindlinked back.
'I'm not sure Luna. He has that guy who attacked you with him. The one that was your brother.' Stetson said.
'Jax?' I asked through the mindlink.
'Yes. They say they have an offer.' Stetson said.
'We'll be there in 3 minutes Stetson' Zeke said.
"What could they possibly have to offer?" I asked Zeke. He shrugged and grabbed my hand.
"They want you Cassie. That's the only thing they've asked for this whole time. No matter what deal nothing is worth losing you, so don't even think about giving in. You are the Luna to the strongest pack and they will fight for you. I do not care who or what they have to offer. Nobody is worth you. I love you Cassie and I'll die before our pack loses the best thing that's ever happened to us all." Zeke said looking over at me. I squeezed his hand because I was speechless. Within 3 minutes we were at the gate, Zeke pulled the car through the gates and didn't even glance at Roland and Jax as we passed them. He stopped the car inside the gate and got out. He walked to my side of the car and opened the door, sticking out his hand for me to take it. I took his hand and exited the car and Zeke pulled me to his side. We walked over to where Stetson stood with Truett, Leighton and Brecken.

"They're not taking Cassie, I don't care what they have to offer. Nothing is worth our Luna" Brecken said defensively.
"Believe me I've already said this" Zeke said glancing to me. Zeke and I began to walk towards them and Brecken walked along the other side of me. As we approached Roland and Jax, I noticed Jax looked worn and beaten. I felt sorry for him but after I remembered what he did to me I felt less sorry.
"We'd like to speak to Cassie and Zeke alone." Roland said looking to Brecken.
"Well that's too bad because I'm not going anywhere." Brecken said.
"Fine. Can we come in?" Roland asked.
"Absolutely not" I said quickly. Zeke and Roland both looked at me surprised at how fast I reacted to his question. Zeke smiled slightly.
"She's the boss. What she say goes so no you can not come in" Zeke said smirking as he pulled me closer. Jax looked down and saw the ring on my hand.
"Congrats on the engagement" he said quietly causing Roland to look down at my hand as well.
"Thank you couldn't have asked for a better mate. It wouldn't have happened if you didn't turn out to be a backstabbing two faced piece of shit" I spat at him. He looked shocked.
"Woah somebody's grown some balls here ladies and gentlemen." Roland said chuckling. I heard Brecken growl lowly. I grabbed his hand letting him know it was okay.
"Don't get too defensive over her, I did once and it got me no where" Jax said. Suddenly Roland's hand smacked the back of Jaxs head. I chuckled loudly.
"You're wrong it got you somewhere. You're just a pussy who couldn't handle the thought of a fight you started." I said as I laughed.
"I didn't start that fight. Roland started it when he did what he did to you. He knows he was wrong for it. I defended my sister and look where it got me" Jax spat at me.
"What Roland did to me doesn't affect me because he's not my true mate. Zeke is. And I am not your sister. I was once but not after what you did." I spat back. Roland glanced at me with hurt in his eyes and I laughed quietly.
"What is this offer you brought to us? We would like to get on with our perfect date night if you don't mind." Zeke said.
"We want Cassie. But we're willing to trade Cassie for Jay and we won't have a war." Roland said. Brecken and Zeke laughed loudly. I felt a pit in my stomach because I want to help Jay but I know I'm not going to be able to make this deal. I grabbed ahold of Zekes hand and pulled him away from everyone.
"I have to do this Zeke. To protect our pack and Jay." I said looking to him. He put his hands on my cheeks making me look at him.
"Absolutely not. But I have an idea. Will you go with it?" He asked.
"Of course." I said. We walked back over to them.
"We'll take the deal but you have to let her say goodbye to some people first and let me cover her head so nobody can tell we're letting her go right now." Zeke said. Roland nodded in agreement. Brecken turned quickly.
"Absolutely not" he yelled.
