Chapter 25

Leilany's POV

I hugged my parents before Alpha Zeke placed a paper bag over my head. He walked me outside. It wasn't too long of a walk, I'm guessing to the gate.
"Is she ready to go?" I heard a man ask.
"She's ready. Promise you won't hurt her. If she gets hurt I'll kill you all." Alpha Zeke said.
"I promise I won't hurt her." The man said.
Alpha Zeke hugged me and I heard him whisper to me.
"We'll come for you tonight. Be prepared." He whispered. I hugged him back in response.
"Where's her ring?" A man asked.
"She gave it back to me." Alpha Zeke said with a hint of hurt and rage. He was playing his part well. Without any more words I felt someone grab my arm and pull me towards them. We walked a short distance before stopping.
"Step up" another man said. I did as he said and he pushed me into a seat. I'm glad Cassie suggested a jacket, it was getting colder outside. I heard the men get in the vehicle and we pulled away. I felt a hint of fear creep up my spine but I pushed it away.

'Cassie is going to come for me, I just have to get Jay' I thought to myself.
"So Cassie, you ready to be home?" A man asked. I shrugged in response. I didn't want to give away that I wasn't Cassie before we got to the pack. They might kill me and leave me on the side of the road.
"Don't worry love. Tonight I'm going to make love to you like Zeke never could and then you'll be our Luna and my mate." A man said. I figure it's Apha Roland talking.
"You'll forgive me one day for what I did to you Cassie and you'll understand why I did it" The other man said. That must be Jax, the backstabbing brother. I didn't respond to either of them, I just sat quietly. After a little while the vehicle came to a stop and the doors opened. I felt someone grab my arm and pull me out of the vehicle. I know what comes next, they'll find out I'm not Cassie. I prepared myself. Suddenly the bag was pulled from my head.
"What the fuck" The guy said, it was Jax. I recognized him from the picture.
"Well hello Jax. Am I not who you thought I was?" I said smirking. Alpha Roland walked in front of me and punched me in the face. Everything went black. I don't know how long I was out but when I woke my head hurt. My eyes took a second to adjust to the darkness. I must be in the dungeons.

"Are you okay? Who are you?" I heard a girl ask as her hand touched my arm. I looked to her and suddenly I hugged her.
"Jay! You are Jay, correct?" I asked. She looked taken aback at my response.
"Yes I'm Jay, how do you know my name? Who are you?" She asked.
"I'm Leilany. Cassie sent me to get you out of here." I said.
"Well you did a pretty great job at getting me out" She said sarcastically.
"It's all apart of the plan baby" I said smiling. I heard a door open and the light flicked on.
"Whatever happens we both have to stay in these dungeons." I whispered to her and she hesitantly nodded. Jax appeared at the door a few seconds later.
"Who are you?" He asked me.
"I'm Leilany. I betrayed Alpha Zeke. They were gonna kick me to the rogues but decided this was a better punishment. Man were they mistaken, your Alpha hits like a girl" I said laughing.
"That was him taking it easy on you but me I can do a lot worse if you keep it up" He replied. I smirked at him. He opened the door and walked to me picking me up by my neck. Suddenly he dropped me to the floor and stepped back.
"It can't be. You can't be my mate" He mumbled to himself.
"I felt it too. I am your mate. You wouldn't harm your mate, would you?" I asked. He didn't reply.
"Who am I kidding, I'm talking to the same man who betrayed his family" I spat at him.  The anger returned to his face.
"You don't know anything" he yelled before leaving slamming the door back and locking it. He disappeared up the stairs again. He left the lights on but locked the door. I turned to Jay who stared at me in shock.
"Nobody has ever spoken to him like that and gotten away with it like you just did" She said.
"I'm not anybody. I'm his mate. To hurt me he has to hurt himself." I said.
"Alpha Roland did it to Cassie and didn't hurt himself." She said. I looked at her shocked.
"Alpha Roland is Cassie's mate? I thought Zeke was her mate?" I asked her.

"Roland was her mate. Cassie was an admired pack member here until her parents died and they said she was cursed. The day they knew they were mates, Roland took advantage of Cassie. He got sexual with her but didn't have sex with her. Then he rejected her afterwards. Meadow saved Cassie's life. Roland was trying to kill Cassie cause he had chosen her ex best friend as his mate. Jax defended Cassie and beat the shit out of Roland making him look weak. Cassie and Jax were banished. Cassie ran and Jax wouldn't. He was caught by Roland and the pack. He chose to turn on everybody rather than face death. They found where Cassie worked and Jax made me go with so Cassie would trust us and then he chained her up to be killed during her first shift. When Jax saw what kind of wolf Cassie was he went to get Roland who was nearby but I let her free. It cost me my freedom but she was safe. She's my family. I'm not Jax I can face death if it means I don't turn on everybody I love and give up who I am as a person. She ran for your pack and you know the rest from there. I love my brother he's my twin. I just can't accept who he's become or the things he's done to survive. I'd rather die a thousand deaths than become him. Zeke is her second chance mate. I hope he's everything Roland wasn't. She deserves it. She's the most selfless, caring, brave woman I have ever met. I'm lucky to call her family." She said. I felt my heart hurt for Jay and Cassie.

"Cassie said she had a rough life but others had it worse. I don't see how anyone could have it worse than her. Zeke loves her genuinely. I tried to ruin that and threatened to kill her because I was to be married to Zeke. Zeke and my family were going to toss me out but Cassie stopped them. She saved my life. I volunteered to do this to repay her but after hearing everything she gone through and realizing she still a good person I don't think I can ever repay her." I mumbled.
"Just stay loyal to her. Be her friend and a good friend at that. Be her family. She'll protect you til her dieing breath. She's just like her mother." Jay said.
"Who were her parents and what happened to them?" I asked quietly.
"Her father was the Beta of the pack his name was Huxley Solace. Her mother was the most caring and trusted she wolf I've ever met. She was trusted by members in every pack. She saved so many lives. So many people confided in her and she took their secrets to her grave. Her name was Maliyah Solace. They died saving pack members from a mountain avalanche. They saved everybody but themselves." She said.
