Chapter 26

Cassie

Brecken, Amoura and I drove in Breckens truck. We were the last vehicle to leave. Zeke was in the first vehicle. When we got close to the pack, we split off and I directed Brecken to a clearing in the woods behind the pack that is left unattended all the time. It was where my parents died so nobody ever came out here anymore. When the truck came to a stop we all got out.
"Okay so there's a spot in the gate we can cut. We can sneak in and it's near the dungeons. We can get in and get Leilany and Jay out and then get them to the truck from there I'm joining the fight" I said to them.
"Zeke has strict orders that you stay out of the fight." Brecken said.
"I do not care. These people are fighting for me. They will not fight alone. You can other fight with me or stay out of my way." I said sternly.
"And if I don't?" He asked curiously.
"I will take you down Brecken. I won't hurt you to bad but I can promise you will not stop me" I said as serious as I could. He looked taken aback.
"I guess we'll cross that road when we get there." He said looking at me. I nodded in agreement. We got the bolt cutters from the truck and walked to the gate. I cut a hole big enough from Brecken to get in, he was bigger than both Amoura and I so we got through the holes easily. We snuck to the dungeons and waited til we heard the fight start. We snuck into the dungeons and slowly crept down the stairs, before I went down I made sure to lock the door so I would hear if someone were coming down. Brecken stood guard and Amoura and I went to break out Jay and Leilany. We got to the bottom of the stairs and there were 5 people in the dungeons, Jay and Leilany were in one cell and the other 3 were in the others.

"Cassie!" Leilany said as she spotted me.
"I made you a promise I'm here to keep on that" I said smiling. Amoura picked the lock and we look at Leilany's injuries then looked over Jay to make sure she was okay. After I saw she was okay I hugged her as tight as I could.
"You have to join my pack, Jay." I said. She looked conflicted.
"We can't leave Jax." She said. I went to respond and Leilany did instead.
"He's my mate, Cassie. We can take him and lock him up until he's better." Leilany said. I stood shocked for a minute.
"I'll do what I can" I said. I bit into my wrist and handed it to Jay. She took it and drank.
"Repeat after me" I said "I, Jaylene Mae Vespertine, vow to serve and protect you, Cassiopeia Maeve Solace, as Luna of the Obsidian Moon Pack for as long as I live." Jay repeated me word for word, suddenly I felt her enter my mind.
'You're the Luna?' She asked in a mindlink. I nodded. She hugged me tightly.
"Are you guys ready to go? We have company incoming. Jax and a few others are coming. We have to get them to the car." Brecken said quietly.
"I have a different idea." I said looking to Jay.
"You guys stay right here, Amoura and Brecken hide close by. Trust me. We're going to take out everyone and capture Jaxon." I said.
"I don't think that's a good idea Cass" Brecken said.
"I made promises I need to keep Breck. Remember help me or get out of my way." I said. He nodded and they hid.
"Turn away Brecken I'm going to shift." I said quietly. He did as I said. I stripped down and shifted and stood in front of the dungeon doors. Within seconds Jax and 3 other men came down the stairs.
"What the" one guy started.
"Cassie, I see you've come to join us finally." Jax said. I growled loudly. The 3 men began to shift and I mindlinked the group.
'Jay, Leilany you guys get Jax. Amoura and Brecken help me take these guys out' I mindlinked. Before anyone could move or speak I lunged for the guy on Jaxs left. I caught him by the throat, ripping out his jugular. Amoura went after the guy behind Jax and Brecken took out the guy on Jaxs right. Within seconds all 3 were dead. Leilany and Jay had Jax on the ground pinning him.
'Turn around' I told Brecken. I shifted back putting my clothes back on.
"Okay you're good Breck" I said quietly. I walked over to where Jay laid on the floor.

"I'm sorry bout your friends I don't want any witnesses to this. I infact did not come to join you. Jay joined me and her one condition is we take you with." I said. Jax looked to Jay. She smiled at him and Brecken knocked Jax out with one punch.
"What about us?" Someone in the other cage said.
"What did they do to get thrown in here?" I asked Jay.
"Willow is an elder who didn't like how Roland was running things so she was banished to the dungeons. Kyla is the Deltas daughter, she made a meal wrong so she's serving 5 years in the dungeon." Jay said. Suddenly the 3rd girl stepped out of the dark and my mouth dropped.
"Raya?" I asked. She was beaten pretty badly.
"Hi Cassie. As you can imagine I'm not the Luna, Roland wanted for this pack. I tested his patience one day recently and I received all of this in payment for it" she said quietly.
"Willow and Kyla. Would you like to join my pack?" I asked them. They both nodded. We let them out and decided they could join when we reached the pack.
"What about me, Cassie?" Raya asked.
"I don't know about you, Raya. I don't know if you can be trusted." I said sternly.
"Cassie you're always my best friend. I was banned from speaking to you I'm sorry." She said.
"Cassie, you're the same person who forgives with a giant heart. I threatened to kill you and you forgave me." Leilany said as she placed a hand on my shoulder. I looked at her sadly.
"This is the best friend who was chosen to be Luna in my place with Roland." I said to her.
"She was chosen but she tested patience. It's a sign of strength. We can always put her with Jax til we know she can be trusted." Leilany said. I sat and thought for a second.
"What do you think?" I asked Brecken.
"We don't really have time right now to think. I can knock her out like I did Jaxon and put her in the truck with him." He said.
"No, just tie her up with Jaxon and put her in the truck" I said quietly.

Brecken did just that. We took them to the truck and put them in the back. I turned to Jay and Leilany.
"You guys have done plenty. You can stay at the truck." I said.
"No we're going with you" Jay said.
"I need someone to stay with them and watch over them." I said.
"I will" Leilany said. Brecken handed her the keys.
"If there's any danger get out of here. Take them straight to the dungeon when you get home." Brecken said. She nodded. Brecken, Amoura, Jay and I all shifted and ran for the fight. I'm guessing Brecken decided not to fight me after I took out that guy because there was no argument from him. As we approached the fight I saw a lot of hurt men. Few were mine, most were Roland's. I saw Roland and Zeke fighting each other.
'Amoura attend to our injured. Brecken help Zeke. Jay come with me.' I mindlinked. Everyone did as they were told. Jay and I ran through the fight and helped our men that were struggling to hold their own. I couldn't help but worry about Zeke. I looked over and saw Brecken hurt and Zeke was holding his own but it was a pretty even fight between him and Roland. I looked to Jay, she knew I was going to need help.
'Come with me we're going to sneak around the back and help Zeke and I need you to help Brecken.' I mindlinked. She nodded. We were close to the forest edge so Jay and I ran for the edge, suddenly Jay was tackled by another wolf. I turned to help her.
'Go Cassie! I got this. I'll be behind you' she mindlinked. I hesitated but I did as she said. When I came to the edge of the forest behind Roland, I looked around. Jay was still fighting off the wolf, Brecken was about to be attacked by another wolf, Zeke was too worried about me to put in full effort, some more of my pack were struggling to hold their own. 'We are the strongest pack, how can Roland's pack be fighting this hard right now?' I wondered to myself. The wind picked up and I caught a scent, middlemist red flower. The flower is known to provide great strength but it is banned from our kind because long term use can cause terrible long term affects on a wolf.
