Jay looked rough as she stepped out in front of me.
"I'm glad you're okay Cassie, I never wanted any harm to happen to you" she said quietly. I ran to her and hugged her.
"Jay you saved me that day. Im thankful for you everyday. I want to help you get away." I said.
"I can't leave yet but I came to warn you." She said. I heard Brecken coming behind me.
"It's okay he's good people." I said to reassure her before Brecken came into view. He approached us and stood tall next to me.
"Warn her about what?" Brecken said.
"Roland. He plans to attack your pack next week." She said quietly.
"You know this how?" He asked.
"Jay is my adopted sister. She's the one who saved my life but she's being held by their pack" I said to Brecken.
"She doesn't look like she's being held to me" he said defensively.
"They have my brother. I'm sorry for what he's done to you Cassie but he's just trying to survive it's worse than you would think." She said.
"I can't forgive him that easily. He may have been defending me but he did this to all of us when he couldn't control his anger. Even after what he did I would've let Roland kill me before hurting either one of you. You guys were my family. You still are I just can't qualify Jax as family right now." I said.
"I understand Cassie. I love you with my whole heart. Roland plans to attack Monday night and he knows Kartier and Zari are here so he plans to attack them too." She said quietly. I nodded.
"Thank you for letting me know. I love you with my whole heart Jay. I hope you find the strength to leave even without Jax." I said before I hugged her. She turned and disappeared into the woods. As Brecken and I walked into the kitchen, I was lost in thought about what Jay had said. I felt bad that Zari and Kartier were going to be under attack because of me. I felt bad that all the children here would be in danger because of me.
"What's the matter Cassie?" Zari said looking to me. Everyone turned to face me.
"Everyone needs to meet in the office immediately including you 2." Brecken said. He looked to Zeke to show him it was serious. Zeke suddenly appeared next to me pulling me into a hug, I clung to him desperate for his touch to tell me everything would be okay. I had to find a way to protect the children. We all walked to the office and shut the door. Once the door shut I turned to Zeke.
"I knew I couldn't take you because whomever would be too intimidated and you wouldn't have let me do it but I felt someone watching us so I went to see who it was, I don't know how but I knew they meant me no harm but I asked for Brecken in case. He kept his distance but kept me within eye sight. When I got to the woods I told them I knew they were there. Jay appeared from the woods" I said as I looked to Zari and Kartier.
"What did she want?" Zeke asked.
"She told Cassie she came to warn her." Brecken said.
"Warn her of what?" Kartier asked."Roland plans to attack the Obsidian Moon Pack Monday night and at the same time they plan to attack the Zetas house for being here today. He has spies everywhere." I said looking at the floor.
"We can handle them" Zeke said.
"My main concern is Zari, she is with child making her vulnerable, and here we have pregnant she-wolves and children. It doesn't matter what we can and can't handle what matters is the ones who lead after us, we need to keep them safe. Roland and his pack are going to go straight for the most vulnerable to weaken the people in this pack. I can't allow that to happen because of me." I said quietly.
"We don't have anywhere else to take them" He said as we all sat thinking of places.
"I do. It's risky but it's somewhere they would never think to find them. Zari can come too. It's not too big but it's big enough to send the children, injured, pregnant mothers and Zari and maybe a few to protect them in case." I said quietly.
"Where would that be?" Kartier asked.
"My old apartment in the human world." I said quietly.
"You wanna send them into the human world?" Brecken asked loudly.
"To keep them safe. It's not too far in town, it's safe. I have food and some extra money in case they end up needing it." I said defensively.
"I honestly think it's a good idea" Zeke said as he pulled me to his lap.
"She's thinking like a Luna already" Zari said.
"I couldn't live with myself if people got hurt protecting me especially children. I could not live with myself if you got hurt and lost the baby you've been working so hard to get for years now because you came to visit me." I said looking to Zari.
"So we get all of the vulnerable out and then what?" Brecken asked.
"Those who can and are willing too, fight. Those who don't want too, do not have too. We can't force them to fight a battle for me. This started with me, I'm ending it." I said. Everyone stared at me for a minute."Everyone at my place will fight for you anyday Cassie they love you. We will send everyone here including myself, then when Roland's men show up we won't be there. Making this pack stronger with more people." Kartier said. Zari agreed with that idea.
"Everyone here will fight for you Cassie. You're their future luna and my mate. The fact you haven't met them and want to protect their children will give them more reason too." Zeke said.
"Anybody who is fighting in this battle is not fighting for me. They'll be fighting with me, you're mistaken if you think I'm going to sit back and let everyone else handle a mess my existence caused." I said looking to Zeke. I could tell by the look on his face he didn't agree but he didn't argue.
"Okay So we have a plan, you guys head home and prepare. We have 3.5 days before Monday arrives and we'll get everyone out Sunday night so be back by then." Zeke said.
"Will do, call on the burner if anything changes" Kartier said before helping Zari stand. I walked over hugging them both and saying goodbyes before they left.
"Can you call a town meeting but make it adults only?" Zeke asked Brecken. Brecken nodded before turning to me.
"You're doing good, they may be after you Cassie but it's not your fault" He said before he left. All of this has made me exhausted causing me to yawn. Zeke walked next to me, scooping me up in his arms, wrapping my legs around him.
"Tired my love? You can get some sleep." He said kissing the side of my head.
"No I have to go to the meeting. I need to meet the people." I said quietly. Zeke smiled before he kissed me passionately. Suddenly I was lost in the need to be with Zeke again.
