Chapter 4

A year and 10 months later
I woke up and rolled over to face Jax. I'm so glad that he's my best friend. Since the day we met he's been a great friend. Last night we celebrated his birthday and got too drunk so he crashed in my room so we didn't get caught drinking by our adopted parents. After 9 months of me living here Zari and Kartier they decided to adopt me, Jay and Jax so they're my family now. I visit my parents often. I still attend school within my pack but Jax now attends with me, he said it was to be my support at all times. Jay and I are close but Jax and I are closer. Jax began to wake up rolling over towards me.
"Well good morning sunshine" I said laughing. He jumped up.
"What time is it? We're going to be late for school!" He said quickly.
"It's 6am we got some time but you should probably hurry and shower in your room before breakfast" I said laughing. Class didn't begin until 8:30am. He jumped up running off to shower. I slid out of bed and went to make coffee in my kitchenette before heading to take a shower myself.

When I was done I walked in the walk in closet and began looking around. I decided to wear my peach colored crop top tank top with my white shorts, they had rips in the front under the pockets but that's how they were designed. I dug through and found my white long, pull over cardigan. Putting in on it stopped right below my knees then I grabbed my white converse and slid them on. I walked back to the bathroom and grabbed my blow dryer and started blowing drying my hair. When it was wet it was a dark blonde but when it was dry it was a bright, platinum blonde. When I was done drying it I ran my straightener through it making my hair lay flat. I unplugged everything before walking to the vanity in my room, I turned on the lights around it and sat down with my coffee. I started doing my makeup, I had bright blue eyes that popped enough already so I matched my eye shadow to my peach shirt. Then I put on some eyeliner and mascara, I had super long eyelashes I loved them. I found my blush applying some to my cheeks and nose before finding my lipgloss and putting it on. Before I left my room a put on some deodorant and perfume.

I walked out of my room, it smelled like heaven. I'm guessing Jay started cooking, she doesn't go to school with us so she always made breakfast and went back to bed. She tried but she didn't make any friends and she didn't like how people treated me and said she couldn't stand by while it happened so she stayed home with private tutors. As I entered the kitchen I saw Jay standing in front of the stove in her sweatpants and tank top with her hair in a bun.
"Good morning good looking" I said smiling. She blushed as always but she really did look good in her lazy outfit.
"Good morning, it's you who's looking cute" she said glancing at me. I smiled.
"Whatcha making?" I asked.
"I made you both casserole for lunch and am making eggs toast and bacon for breakfast." She said.
"Oh man do I love you for always making sure I eat." I said quietly.
"You're family. That means you need to eat too" she said. Just then Jax appeared and picked me up spinning me in circles, I laughed.
"Put me down jerk" I said.
"DAYUM both my favorite ladies looking good today" Jax said winking at us and we both laughed. He was wearing a dark blue button up shirt with the sleeves rolled up and a pair of khakis with the bottoms slightly rolled with his white vans on.
"You look good yourself there Jax" I said laughing. He rolled his eyes and got a cup of coffee.
"Am I the only one who drank too much last night?" He said.
"Well when I left you were trying to get Cass to do your makeup" Jay said as we both laughed.
"Omg I did not do that. Did I?" He said looking to me. I nodded laughing again.

"Hello children! It's almost time to go Jax and Cass!" Zari said as she walked in.
"Good morning mama Z. We just have to eat breakfast" Jax said kissing her cheek as I got her some coffee. I handed it to her and she smiled.
"Thank you dear. You look very nice today! Jay whatever you're making smells amazing can I have some?" Zari asked.
"Of course! I made plenty for everyone! I'm just getting done cooking. Everyone grab plates and stack up food on them." Jay said as we all did as she said. After we all ate we said our goodbyes to everyone and Jax and I headed out the door. We no longer had a drive for school, Zari and Kartier bought all of us a car to share. Jax drove and I rode passenger princess everyday. I picked music too but we had the same music interests.
"How you feeling mentally today?" Jax asked as we began driving.
"I feel okay I just hope I don't run into Roland and Raya. Since they're supposed to get married I'd just rather avoid them. Hopefully I'll find my mate some day soon." I said quietly.
"I don't know maybe it'll be sooner then you think. There's a glow about you this morning." Jax said. I didn't respond but he didn't push. After a little drive we arrived at school, today I felt different but I wasn't going to say anything.

As we exited the car I smelled the most amazing smell. It smelled like bourbon and steak. I looked around but didn't see anybody and the smell got more and more faint. So I ignored it as we walked to the school. As the doors opened the smell smacked me in the face again but stronger. I continued to ignore it but I carefully looked around as I walked in the door. I felt eyes on me as I turned and looked up. There he was watching me from the second floor, it was Roland and he looked different too. He looked amazing, he was wearing a little blue shirt with a V neck and black skinny jeans. He looked at me with hunger as our eyes met. I turned to Jax he hadn't noticed my weird non-encounter, encounter with Roland.
"I'll meet you in class Jax, I got something I need to do quick" I said before I turned to walk away. When I glanced back up to Roland he was gone and I felt a little disappointed so I walked towards to janitors hall, they don't get in til late and I need I could have a moment to get myself back together.
"Mate" I heard a low, deep voice growl behind me. I turned around quickly and was face to face with Roland.
"That can't be. You don't want me, you have Raya." I said quietly in shock at the word that left his mouth.
