Chapter 19

"In light of the events that are before us and the ongoing conflict between our pack and another. I'm happy that you all accept Cassie. She truly is a beautiful, amazing woman. When her parents died Zeta Kartier and his wife Zari adopted Cassie and I spoke to Kartier the other day and asked for his permission and he granted it to me." He said before turning to me and kneeling in front of me.
"Cassiopeia Maeve Solace would you do me the honors of making me the happiest man by being not just my mate and Luna but by being my wife" He said as pulled out a 1.01 CT Oval Diamond engagement right. I began to cry softly until I realized everyone was watching me waiting for an answer. I stared at Zeke while thinking.
"Of course I will" I said sliding the ring on my finger. Zeke picked me up spinning me in circles before he stopped and kissed me passionately. Everyone at the tables began to cheer and clap. We all celebrated for an hour after that and people began to head to their homes. They would stop and congratulate us before saying their goodbyes.
"I'm getting tired I'm going to head upstairs, join me when everybody leaves?" I whispered quietly to Zeke.
"Of course my love, are you okay? I didn't pressure you did I?" He asked worried.
"No not at all, I'm ok just tired is all" I said smiling. I placed a soft kiss on his lips. I walked up the stairs when I reached the room I walked to the kitchenette and grabbed a bottle of wine and a wine glass. I took them to the bathroom and placed them on the edge of the tub. I started the tub and I turned off the tub when it had filled all the way up as I turned around I saw Leilany behind me.

"Can I help you?" I asked her. I mind-linked Zeke telling him Leilany was here and I needed him now.
"You need to call off the engagement and disappear now. If you don't you won't live long enough to get married." She said angry. Zeke had already appeared behind her she just didn't notice.
"The only one that might not live long enough to watch me get married is you" Zeke said. Leilany turned around and Zeke had 2 guards with him. They took Leilany and Zeke came over to me.
"Are you ok?" He said grabbing my face and looking me over.
"Yeah I'm ok, how'd you get here so fast?" I asked him.
"Leilany's parents couldn't find her and I had seen how she stared at you all night. I knew something was wrong, when you mind-linked me I was already on my way up with the guards." He said.
"Thank you" I said quietly.
"I have some work to get done this evening in the office, will you be okay in here alone?" He asked. I stood on my tippy toes and kissed him.
"I'll be fine, we're close by each other if I need anything I'll let you know and when I'm done with my bath I'll join you in the office" I said reassuringly. He nodded before he walked out to go to the offices. I got undressed and slipped into the tub, I poured myself a glass of wine and downed it. I poured another glass and I stared out the window. It's crazy to think a week ago I was living alone in the human world being hunted and today I have a whole pack, a new mate and fiancé and I'm a luna. I looked down admiring my ring, I'm so lucky to have met Zeke. If you would've told me a week ago this would happen I would've laughed. I continued to get lost in thought as I drank the entire bottle of wine. I was definitely feeling it now I had drank a lot at dinner plus this bottle to myself. I got out of the tub and drained it. I wrapped myself in a towel and walked to the closet. I pulled out black lace underwear and a crop top see through lace bralette and put them on. Then I pulled out my purple silk pajama shorts that had black lace around the edges putting them on before I found the matching silk pull over robe. I walked to the bookshelf and found a book before I made my way to the kitchen. I put the empty bottle of wine in the sink and grabbed another. I walked into the office and Zeke was busy typing on his computer so I walked to the hanging chair climbing in it. I opened the new bottle of wine and poured a glass placing the bottle on the shelf next to the chair. I began to read my book and drink my wine, occasionally glancing over to Zeke who was lost in his work.

He looked good when he was working and focused. I had drank half the bottle when he finally looked up and saw me. His eyes trailed down my body. I wore a double d in bra size and I had tan skin so the silk and lace matched well with my body. He sat back in his chair admiring me as I read and drank my glass of wine.
"How much wine have you drank tonight?" He asked.
"Probably too much, why? Is that okay?" I asked.
"That is perfectly fine my love, I was just curious. You look sexy sitting there" He said staring at me. I blushed.
"Do you want some ice cream?" He asked as he stood. Ice cream sounded amazing. I nodded. He walked over to me taking the glass of wine and book and placing it on the shelf. He helped me out of the chair. We walked to the kitchen, I sat on the stool and he pulled out butterscotch ribbon ice cream. He put some in 2 bowls placing one in front of me.
"Thank you my love" I said smiling as I began eating the ice cream.
"You're welcome darling" he said as he returned the ice cream to the freezer. After we ate our ice cream we went to the bedroom, Zeke turned on a movie called 'I Am Legend' and we began to watch it. Half way through the movie Zeke looked over at me, I glanced to him making sure he was okay.
"I love you Cassie" He said quietly to me. I had no words at first so I kissed him passionately.
"I love you Zeke" I said when I pulled away. We cuddled and finished the movie before we fell asleep.
